Nice zoom for a compact camera. It takes decent pictures. Sometimes in the right light and the right setting, it can take great pictures.

I just returned from a trip to Costa Rica--the maiden voyage for this camera, and I am ecstatic with its performance. I was predominantly taking pictures of birds and other wildlife, and although it does take a bit of practice to hold steady enough when fully zoomed to get the sharpness you want, the results were truly spectacular. Looks like my expensive 2.5 pound SLR camera will be sitting on the shelf permanently!

I use this camera everyday in my work as an insurance investigator for auto warranty companies. It is very user friendly and I had the basic features operating in a few minutes. The screen is bright and the focus is very good.

The good: Excellent pictures, pretty easy to use, small and lightweight, INSANE ZOOM LENS!!! The bad: Having to manually flip open the Flash is a pain (however that insures it will not accidentally fire off if it's in the closed position), Lack of touchscreen, no viewfinder option, connecting to the phone app via Wifi could be a faster process Bought this camera a week before the 2017 Solar Eclipse in Nashville. Didn't have time to practice using the camera, nor learn any of the settings. Barely made it to Nashville in time for the eclipse due to two flight delays, ran out of the plane and pointed the camera up at the Totality in Auto Setting, zoomed to the max with no tripod (just hand held as steady as possible), and fired off 5 shots. What else can I say? This camera absolutely rocks! I posted the best picture with the eclipsed sun in the middle of the frame. Does the Auto setting get better than this? That's magazine worthy, folks!

Bought in 2018. Used for 1 trip and kept in drawer in July 2019 took out for SFO trip while in trip its shutter stopped working ,not closing the retractable Lens . My bad the geek warranty just expired a month before.I suggest don't buy this this issue is common with power-shot camera . I visited best buy store but i didn't get any help or solution. I used this camera on 1 trip and in second trip it stop working was not expected it will die like this. Now it is laying in drawer as to repair it expense is high and its better to buy new-one. I am sure this time no for powershot

My wife and I travel a lot, and were looking for a point and shoot camera for those quick pictures we take to remind us of the cities and places we visit. We have had a Canon camera for about 10 years that finally broke. This camera is easy to use, and has a super zoom feature that looked interesting. We just used it on our trip to Maui, and were very pleased with it. We basically just put it on auto and took some great pictures. Now that I have a little time, I am going to try out some of the many advanced features you can choose. I want to be able to take pictures of sunsets, and this seems to have a couple options for that. great camera for point and shoot, and I am going to try to learn more about the other features it overs. Like the size and weight. You can carry it in a pocket, and whip it out quickly.

I like the size & light weight. Was hoping with the higher pixels & resolution would make for better pictures. It certainly has great zoom capabilities - amazing actually. I was sitting in the upper deck at a Minn Vikings Game and could zoom in across the field and literally see the players on the bench talking. I even snapped a picture of a touchdown almost called in error as it was happening. It can really zoom, tge n you have the option to zoom in further on the still image on your screen. Hence you can probably spot nose hairs from my sky high seats. Overall picture quality obviously is very much dependent on proper lighting. Even in a small room the flash will not always compensate the darkerness. That being said it's a ton better than my Cannon T6i big DSLR, but that I can at least buy a different flash mount to add. I think the price is about $100 mire than it should be, but as always Best Buy does offer the best price hands down on not only this camera but just about everything I search for. Best Buy has come a long way with their returns process to. Let me say the store called AM (using initials) is not a place I will ever buy my electronics from again. They are using sellers that do not allow you to return a damaged on receipt item back to their store. Best Buy has always stood behind their products they sell. I rarely have had any issues with the items we buy. I think they get the higher quality or Quality Assurance testing witg their products are opposed to WM. I appreciate that Best Buy employees are trained, knowledgeable, courteous and take time to answer your questions. You never leave there without feeling assured you made the right choice. I have not worked there but friends that do say the company is a lot better to their employees all the way around. Also extremely good at promoting from within. Had many friends reach GM status over the years because their managers work, develop and train them well. I would rather support a company where they take care of both their customers AND employees. Not many retailers survived the 2000s because they could do both plus keep prices affordable like Best Buy has. I'm glad to see the strong survive. Sorry I got off a bit on my review, just something I had on my mind and time to write about it once. No I was not paid to say this either and again not employed by them. Just a big Best Buy fan I guess.

I wanted a camera that I could easily handle. I have never learned how to use all the settings on a DSLR so that was a bit too advanced for me. This camera takes great pictures, has a wonderful zoom and the battery life is really good. I've had the camera for over a month now, charged it once, have taken over 400 pictures and videos and have yet to charge it again. I'm amazed at the picture quality. If you are looking for a small but powerful camera that can fit in a purse or backpack, this is the one to get.

This was a Christmas gift for my dad and I put a lot of thought into a good point and shoot camera. He had a Canon in the past and when technology changed, he went with a Nikon (lighter and more simple). When I read the reviews, I compared with other cameras and decided this is the best bet. I wished it was in the store so I could have seen the actual product before purchasing, that probably would have swayed my opinion for another product. Overall, it is a great camera, takes beautiful pictures but I will keep my eye out for other options when it comes to needing it replaced. The pros: Beautiful pictures, nice size screen for viewing. I like that it automatically shuts off the camera potion when you're taking a long time to view the photos (so you can keep reviewing your photos while the lens potion is shut down and protected). Even though the flash is a manual flip-up, when you're trying to take a picture and the camera needs more light, it will tell you that the flash isn't up. I also liked how the focal point square adjusts to the size of the object. The cons: People did comment that you had to manually flip the flash up which I accepted but still unsure why Canon stepped back in technology. My only guess is when people don't want the flash to go off, it can be bypassed. Still awkward for the average user. Another drawback is once you take the picture, it takes a minute for the image to come up on the screen. If I recall, this was supposed to be faster than the Nikon Coolpix but I'm not so sure. The weight is a bit on the heavy side but I was looking for quality instead of light weight. It seems like it has more buttons and knobs separated out than the typical camera but again, maybe it is preferred for people that use all of that. Overall, there are a lot of fancy things on this camera that I didn't need but I was wanting my dad to have a good camera that produced sharp pictures (which it does). We haven't downloaded pictures yet (which will be a fun project), since you have to connect to Wi-Fi instead of using the USB cable. I'm not sure how easy that will be but, we can get it figured out. He will have to play with it some more to get used to the camera but I'm sure he will be fine.
