I bought this camera for my Alaskan cruise and so glad I did. I took great pictures of animal life and glaciers by using my zoom lens.

Small and compact with a great Zoom x40. Used it in Alaska to take pictures of wildlife and scenery. Everything I wanted.

My wife wanted a new camera but didn't want a cheap digital. This is a great option instead of the huge photographer style cameras.

I have been using this camera for over a year now and my take on this may seem to be very different from the general view. I got it for around 350$ from Best Buy in June 2017 and have used it off and on in various locations and settings. I am neither a pro in photography nor understand much about manual and other modes - of course that's one of the reason I went for a point-and-shoot. Over the period that I have used it, I have found the performance extremely unsatisfactory. Don't get enticed by the 40x optical zoom - it does have it but the images are extremely shaky. Even without zoom the camera captures slight ghost images - it's really hard to take perfectly still images. I haven't tried a tripod though - but you don't use tripod for every day photographs. I problem with the wifi is that it is extremely comples to pair and use - it is almost unusable - I stopped using the wifi after a few times. The main reasons that I opted for this camera - 40x zoom and wifi connectivity have been defeated. I am much disappointed with the performance of this item considering the price - I have used better products and have almost never inspired to use it. I wish I have returned this while I had the time - I refrained because I wanted to give it some more time.

I was not too impressed with this camera. It did well with very near and very far focus, but mid range focus in somewhat lower light was very poor. It is not very user friendly either - difficult to find backlight setting. I don’t think it is worth this price - maybe $100 less and I would have kept it. I returned it and decided to look around a little more. I have a Nikon P900, and am looking for something smaller for hiking and travel.

Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the picture. However I noticed the pictures were not as good for nighttime pictures.

Bought this camera to replace a Sony camera that had gotten wet. I keep it in my purse to catch those quick pics of the GRANDkids in their many activities. Have caught some amazing shots.

Love love love this camera. I wanted something that would get clear shots of my kids who are always on the move and that is what this camera does.

Replacing smaller camera that I have had for years with more zoom and more pixals. Great zoom for birds. Uses more battery, less shooting time between charges. Recommend purchase of extra battery.

I brought this for my 13 year old son for his first camera. He loves it and it takes really good pictures

Have not tried to transfer pictures to my computer yet. Most reviews said it was difficult. I think a cord to charge the battery in the camera and to connect to the computer should be included.

Great camera with excellent optical zoom. Quality is good and a great upgrade from our last one. So far is doing what we are needing.

It takes great pictures, I advise you to get a back up battery for the camera. it tells you when to use the flash, and take beautiful moon shoots.

Had to replace our last Canon wide angle but wanted the same camera or very similar so it was easy to use but shot great photos.... This was it!

I love the 40 zoom and the clear, crisp pictures! It is easy to use. I wanted high quality with not a lot of gadgets and things to do. Love it!

This smaller camera takes better photos than my more expensive more complicated cannon camera.

The Canon PowerShot SX20 HS is a great compact digital camera. The pictures are sharp and the video is incredible. The video is of the same quality or even better than the video from a camcorder. The audio is excellent. It has more than sufficient optical zoom. There are many options for different settings. I use the camera for family get togethers, vacations, wildlife & surf photography. I am very pleased with the overall quality of this camera & will continue to purchase Canon point and shoot cameras.
