Very easy to use and takes beautiful pictures yet small enough to fit in my purse.

I have only had this camera for a month but have found it fairly easy to take good pictures. It has many many features but using the instruction book and experimenting the basics are fairly easy to perfect.

I decided to buy this camera because of the 40x optical zoom capacity it has, which is a great addition to this already good camera. The zoom works fine when handheld, although I would recommend using a tripod when going in all the way close on a subject to avoid shaking and capture crisp images. If you are not so concerned or care about this 40x optical zoom feature, then this camera is a great value for it's price when taking pictures and video almost anywhere at any occasion!

At 40X this was the most powerful optical zoom available in a compact camera. Very good image quality. No viewfinder but flippable LED screen helps in bright sunshine. I wanted a lot of zoom and an easy to carry size. This was the best compromise for me. Chose over the 30X zoom compact Sony which is lighter and may have a longer battery life, but I wanted the extra zoom.

Great quality lightweight and so easy to use. Highly recomend.

I wanted a camera to keep readily accessible to capture spur of the moment pictures that would be of good quality, Found it with this camera.

This camera was easy to learn to operate. Has many features and can be challenging to remember where to find the feature you want to use.

I am still trying to decide if this purchase was entirely worth it or not... Let me first start by saying I am using this camera more so for video rather than pictures. I have another camera (DSLR) I use for photography but it is too bulky to really use for easy video recording. So, this review will focus on its recording capabilities... First, the quality of the footage recorded and the options are good. Are they they best? Prolly not but for the price, the quality is great! So, that is a plus. Second, the battery....SUCKS! You can really only get roughly about 45mins to a little over an hour recording time with the battery. The crappy thing about this is, you cannot plug this sucker in! Even though it has a port to plug into a power adapter, all the camera allows you to do when it is plugged in to a power source is look through previously recorded or taken pictures. It will NOT allow you to use it to record or take pictures with. Its like the camera's programming just turns into safe-mode or something. It is weird and annoying! With that being said, if you are planning on using this camera for long-term/all-day video taking, go find yourself a bunch of batteries and charge those suckers up! Third, if there is not a lot of movement in front of the lens, the camera turns off after about 25-30mins. I was trying to make a time-lapse video and there was minimal movement in front of the camera...but it was still movement that I wanted recorded for the duration of the project. After 25mins it basically did a quick "inactivity" type of pop-up on the view screen and proceeded to turn off. I thought at first it was a fluke...no, this happens every time I try to capture similar videos. I just turns off...so if you are using this to video capture things such as you painting, building something, or anything that requires you to pop it on a tripod and record a scene...expect the camera to randomly turn off after about the 25min mark. Maybe there is a setting I am missing? Maybe there is something in the options I accidentally clicked? Not sure...but it is annoying and this is probably one of the biggest reasons why I kind of regret purchasing this camera. It is also the major factor that is giving this product a low star review. Fourth...SD Card memory. I usually use a large SD card so that is not an issue when it comes to space. However, even when recording on high quality (the highest is can go), this lil sucker does not waste space. It is good at conserving space on SD cards...at least from what I can tell. I think that is about it...it is not a bad purchase but because of the random shut-offs and short battery life (without the ability to power it through a power source/adapter) I do regret buying this. However, if you are looking at this camera for photography or small video captures...this might be the camera for you.

Just started using my new Canon camera it has a great zoom. Prefect for traveling if you don’t want to haul your SLR camera

It's understandable that this camera is listed among the top five point-and-shoot cameras, and has such high ratings. It's simply fantastic! Everything about this camera is superb. The incredible 40X zoom lets you see the craters of the moon. WiFi and NFC communications work very well for cable-free connectivity.

I am just a "point and shoot" picture taker. This camera is simple, takes great pics and has wifi capability to upload as you go. I have frame worthy pics of animals on the Serengeti and Monet's Garden. Really pleased with quality of my pictures. Can tell the difference from previous camera.

Big zoom easy and fast to use very convenient wifi

If you are looking for a camera that is convenient to carry but takes great photos this will work well for you. I often take it to sporting events that I would not want to have to keep up with a large camera/lens. The zoom is pretty good for a compact camera.

Almost all of the Canon cameras are really good! This one seems to be a nice point and shoot pocket camera!

I bought this camera for the 20.3 megapixel sensor and the 40x zoom and I was not disappointed.
