I was looking for a camera that wasn't too complicated to use easily, but was still really good quality in this price range, and I made a good choice with this one! I love the large screen, that can flip up to let you see that everyone is in frame from the front, for selfies and timer pics..!

This is exactly what I was looking to buy. I replaced my desktop and the new one is on 11. Canon does not support my old camera on that operating system. This one is supported and I can download only the new pictures. It is a little expensive but, is seems camera prices have become stupid high because everyone uses their phone. It takes great pictures and it's easy to use.

Upgraded from a Canon sx280hs. Wow this camera takes amazing photos. I do alot of macro close ups and the images are crisp. The zoom is amazing and love the photos I got of a Hawk in my yard. I am so glad I upgraded. So EZ to use too.

This is my second camera in the Canon SX series and I used my last one for about 5.5 years before it was starting to not work as well and I needed an upgrade. I mostly use it for outdoor shots while hiking and traveling. The photo quality is about the same as what you would get with a cell phone camera; however, the real benefit to this camera is the amazing zoom. Being an outdoor enthusiast, this camera takes great shots of wildlife from a distance or even a wildflower you want a picture of but don't want to trample the tundra getting close to it. I really debated upgrading to a mirrorless camera instead of sticking with a point and shoot but in the end, the small size and ease of use of this camera won out. I love that it fits easily in a jacket pocket. I do have one major issue with it. When wearing polarized sunglasses, I can't see the screen at all! Since it has no viewfinder, not being able to see the screen is a major issue. You might say that is the fault of the sunglasses and not the camera but I don't have as much of an issue with seeing the screens on my phone or my old camera in the same glasses. I've also noticed that I've accidentally bumped the buttons a few times and changed the settings. My old camera in this series didn't do that well in low light (like inside a cathedral) but I haven't had a chance to try out this one.

I’ve used this camera for a couple years now and I love it. It’s great for daily use. Very user friendly. With low light and lots of motion it can be difficult to get quick high quality photos but I think that might be user error - still learning how to adjust the settings :)

This is a very good camera if you are a beginner! It’s very travel friendly and the picture quality is excellent. I love how you can easily transfer the pictures from the camera to your phone via Bluetooth. Would highly recommend this camera.

Excellent value. This camera has 40x optical zoom yet is compact enough to put in my jacket pocket. Great all around camera, I take it on road trips to capture scenery, family portraits, and close-ups of wildlife and birds.

I needed a new camera to replace my old old Canon camera and wanted something with a good optical zoom. This fit what I was looking for. It has great optical zoom for a point-and-shoot. It also has digital zoom capabilities beyond the optical zoom if you don’t mind decrease in clarity that comes With digital zoom. The hinged screen is a nice feature, but not as useful as the swiveling screen my old Canon had. The only complaint I have is that you have to manually deploy the flash when you want to use it even if you have it set to automatic. It isn’t a huge issue once you are used to it, but if your previous camera’s flash popped up automatically you may not like this.

Camera is great, very useful, compact, and decent for the price now days. The only issue I don't like... The night photos are not too clear, they camera is hard to focus, and pictures come out very blurry and need to take a few pictures and hold the camera very very steady to take good night pictures. Day pictures a great, and I use the camera mostly during the day, so it does the jobs. I give it 4.9/5, overall it is easy to use, practical, SD card, and battery lasts a while.

For being a point n shoot camera, it packs a bunch!! We have used this camera for travel and it takes clear, crisp photos that are definitely comparable to more expensive, professional cameras!! I love that it has the Bluetooth and WiFi option so that you can get the canon app and use your phone to remotely take pictures!!! I also LOVE that it has the screen that flips so if you take a selfie you can see what you look like!! Would recommend this camera over and over again!!! Also love the zoom capability! We went to aftershock in California and we were atleast a football field and more away from the stage and took a zoomed picture of the drummer and you would have thought we were right next to the stage!!! The photos I attached were photos we took with this camera on a tripod!!! Love it! Who needs a photographer now :))

Definitely had to mess with the settings for the look I wanted but once I did, I was obsessed with the photos. Very light and compact to carry around in my purse. Great flash. If you can find it for retail price, definitely worth it.

Very pleased with this purchase. The pucture quality exceeds my expectations and the zoom lens is amazing in such a compact unit. I wish the battery life was a little more robust, but I got a second battery and so far that's working out great. The app for my phone is a little tricky but works well once connected.

At first I resisted but now this camera has been worth the money. The pictures are sharp. The zoom is great. It is a little heavy for a small digital camera but it is worth the weight.

This camera has by far been my best purchase. Quality is amazing and is very easy to use and get nice pictures each time. Small and easy to carry as well. Overall, such a good camera!

It is a very good choice for casual video filming. It is compact and light weight to carry around. The battery lasts about three hours, it is good to purchase a second one to back up. The qualities of pictures and video are great. However, there is no case with the camera when purchasing. It is better to buy a case to house and protect the camera. A case does not cost much. Overall, it is a good camera with fair price. If the camera lasts for a decade or thereabouts, we will give it five stars.

I purchased this prior to a 3 week cruise around the Baja, intending it to be a good lightweight camera for my wife to use while I used a Canon DSLR camera on our trip. As it turned out, she took some truly awesome photos of whales and other wildlife that rivaled the photos I took. And since then we’ve both used this camera on 2 other extended cruises in other parts of the world with truly excellent results and an ease to use.

I bought this camera for a trip to Egypt and Jordan. I wanted to camera that would have a good range of zoom and take good quality photos but didn’t weigh very much. This camera delivered! It also has a feature for a recording video and there is a beautiful leather case sold on Amazon that fits this camera perfectly. I wore it around my neck and I didn’t have any pain as I suffer from neck problems. Love this camera!

Great little camera, compact enough to tuck into my handbag while on the go. Nice photo quality, easy zoom, and highly functional viewfinder for selfies. Takes nice videos, too! The sound quality is great. Canon has always been a trusted name and they didn't disappoint with this SX740 HS. Bestbuy has a great price guarantee policy. Was able to shave $50 off the price due to finding the same camera online with a competitor.
