4k recording in the palm of your hand

With mobile phones capabilities these days, you have 4k recording in some cases already. However, some purists, nothing quite feels like holding a camera in your hands. I've got an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a couple 4k capable GoPro as well as another 4k camera on hand that app perform adequately, but being an older Canon SLR user, these Powershots just are really something nice to have an utilize. This being an Canon point and shoot, and being 24 MP, this is no slouch when it comes to taking still photos either. However, this model is specifically for 4k recording and it does a great job in such a small package. The other 4k camera I have is a tad larger so this Powershot is great for both its size/weight and portability. It's a little chunkier than more Powershots you may have used before but still and very compact size. With the companion smartphone app, you can control the camera remotely as well as make any photo edits to your shots/movies. I've been finding this setup quite useful while using a gimbal,. Allows me better handling of the camera and getting this shots lined up.

In my last week's experience with the Canon Powershot V1 i was trying to see if in today's world with the smartphone becoming so advanced in their video capabilities a point and shot still has it's place. And i do think that while the performance it comes close a dedicated camera for content it's a must from a wide range of considerations. 📸Build: The Canon Powershot v1 it is built from ground up for being very useful to people that do Vlogs for example or post on social media about their travels etc. very well built no doubt a about it and i love the responsiveness and flexibility of the screen. Also the fixed kit lens(16-50mm) useful in any situation. 💻Connectivity: Great connections built into this camera from Bluetooth to WiFi, USB and Lan, thru the app you can connect to your phone and start LiveStreaming (up to 3 cameras) switching between them (for different angles coverage). 🪄Other Features: -Onboard 3-stop ND filter (great for outdoor lighting conditions). -Great Close-Up focus (down to 5.9inch) -Built-in cooling fan (for continuous shooting at 4k) eliminates the risk of overheating and allows for peace of mind while recording. There is nothing more frustrating when for example "you are on the beach 90+ weather you have to record something with your phone and it shuts off due to overheating". -Image stabilization in my opinion it's one of the best i have ever seen. 🤔My conclusion: It still makes sens to own a dedicated camera for capturing moments/content. Once you get to use this Canon Powershot V1 you will understand me better. It has all the bells and whistles that a person that's just getting started might want. I wish at this price point would've came with a sort of traveling case since most of people that would want this camera will be out there putting the work.

I wanted to step up my game of picture and video taking so I chose move to a Camera instead of the typical smart phone. I remembered the quality of Canon products so I chose this camera from past experience with their products. That being said, I was not disappointed when started using this camera. The build quality of this camera is top notch. The feel of the material used to give a proper grip and thumb rest at the best position. The finger rest allows for a perfect holding position. The screen folds out and rotates but also can be folded back in facing out. Does not have a built in flash, you will need to add one to the existing Canon Connection. SD card not included. I installed one (Fast SD card) and formatted in seconds. BlueTooth set of ok, WiFi was a little more difficult. After set up I took and transferred several pics to my phone with the Canon software. You can also set up to transfer automatically. There are tons of customizations. >See attached screen shots< Several options for resolution including 4K30 or 1080P60. I found video stabilization worked pretty well. I have uploded some pics to show how well and accurate to colors are. This camera has a cooling system with 2 exhaust vents and 1 intake. You could comfortably make a 2 hour pod cast video with this system and have great audio and imagery. The Speed of this camera is great as well. There are many functions for this camera in this range and would definitely recommend.

My selling point for this camera was one of Peter McKinnon’s videos where he showcased this camera and could see a real world test and I’m very pleased to say it did go beyond expectations. The internal ND filter, the 17mm equivalent lens and CLOG3 10bit recording made this a standout and clear winner among compact point and shoot style cameras. Also the included dead cat that covers the internal mic is a very simple but effective feature towards getting clear and crisp audio. Go ahead and buy this mightly little camera perfect for vlogging, traveling and capturing family moments, you won’t be dissapointed!

This is a GREAT little camera! I have a Canon R5 and I wanted something I could grab and go for vlogging and general photography and videography without having to grab my entire full frame kit and lenses. I have played with it for the past week, and I love it more each day. I throw it in my pocket with an extra battery and I find myself filming more because I had it with me. It works for photography as well but you need to realize what this is. Its not a full frame powerhouse but a grab and go alternative. Love the control ring on the front lens and I can connect my Rode mic on the shoe on the top and it feels good in the hand. For the price point, I don't think you can go wrong! Especially if you wanted a vacation camera that doesn't take up a bunch of space.

This rating is for Best Buy. If I could rate zero stars I would. I was afraid because at the time of writing this, I saw two other reviews stating they never recieved the camera, now I am the third person that has not recieved my camera. UPS took a bogus photo for proof of delivery, UPS stated the merchant blocked for any claims to be made. I contacted Best Buy support, since the camera was sold out they said they would do an investigation to see if I can be elligible for a refund. Investigation has concluded and got deemed not elligible. The worst experience ever.
