I can find no reason not to have it. Although it's cheap, but the image quality not cheap at all. It's so good. Very small size and light weight makes it a very good walk-around lens on your R body. The only downside of this lens is the focus speed when shooting video is a little bit slow and sometimes you can hear a little noise.

Great lens. It is important to note that this is my very first lens and I’m new to photography. However, simply from a viewers perspective this lens produces great stills. The build quality is solid. The aperture is great. Overall a great lens for all around use.

This lens creates beautiful images, a little slow to focus but at a fraction of the price of other lenses it’s still a great buy. Super lightweight and ideal for daily use.

Picked this up when it was on sale and I’m so glad that I did. The RF lenses are in every way a superior build to the EF line. This is not a L series lens, but you’ll immediately notice the quality of this budget prime the first time you pick it up. It is fantastic in low light and even pretty good for macro photography with only minor chromatic aberrations with the aperture wide open at the edges. It finds its focus quickly for photography, and that quick focus slows down some for videography for a near silent focus when recording. Overall an excellent lens for the price and non-L series build that also includes lens Image Stabilization.

A beautiful light lens with a very low F-Stop. I just used it in multiple low-light situations on a trip. Especially in two museums with low light and tight spaces. Faster speeds also means increased detail.

Amazing lens. This thing is crystal clear and at the right price. The Focal of 1.8 works great with low light and the built in IS really allows you to make quality content hand held.

I can not stress how much I have come to love this lens. Had a old old 35mm f/2 on the EF to RF adapter which was nice, but this thing is just so amazing. Fast focus, sharp, good colors, not too contrasty and the size makes for a surprisingly nice balance on the body. Haven't really taken it off my camera since I got it. Never bothered much with 35mm, always stuck to 50mm for years, but I'm finding this perspective really just fun to use, but yeah, the optics in this thing are really quite amazing for the price.

Initially, I was hesitant to buy this for my R7 due to the crop factor, however, I went against the grain and wont turn back. This lens is amazing for portrait photographers and is crisp and clear and the large aperature gives it that perfect background effect.

Great lens -- fun to use on the Canon RP with the manual focusing indicator bar on the screen in Live View. The depth-of-field grows significantly with small changes in distance-to-subject and aperture, so there's a learning curve, but it's actually kinda thrilling, having only ever used 100-105mm macro lenses, where the DOF is minimal. Lens is super-compact and has become my walk-around lens since I bought it!

Lightweight and quiet. Excellent for macro and video. Perfect for the R50. Decent for low light because of IS and wide aperature. This lens stays on my camera most of the time.

I love this little lens. It seems to work great in low light due to it's f1.8. 35 mm seems to me like a good size for natural looking photos like if you were just walking around. Sure, it isn't as great as some of the L lenses, but it is not $1,000's either. For the price, I am very happy with the performance of this lens. I am giving it a four star because I think that Canon could at least include a cheap hood for the lens. I did see some flaring in low light with bright lights around. A cheap lens hood seemed to fix that easily.
