Amazing build quality, stunning image quality, fast aperture lens. I decided to get a lens that went to F1.2 and my only regret is now I will be buying more F1.2 lenses. This lens changes the game in low-light, allowing me to drop ISO several stops and get cleaner shots. Depth of field can get so shallow at f1.2 that, if you’re not careful, only one eye on a person’s face will be in focus. I’ve seen some reviews complaining about the plastic build. As I can tell, it’s only a plastic outer shell. It seems to hold up against scratches and abrasions really well so I’m impressed. Overall my only complaint is the price, but I’m very happy with the results I’m getting with it. My new favorite lens!

As a professional I highly recommend adding this to your mirrorless camera arsenal. I know you can use the EF 50mm 1.2 with adapter but trust me the speed and clarity are amazing on the RF system. Totally worth the switch. As a beginner this lens allows you to create those fairytale images with the blurry backgrounds with ease. I am using a Canon R3 with this lens and it’s a match made in heaven. Face/Eye tracking plus the focusing speed of this lens allows you to shoot at a whole new level. If you own a Canon mirrorless camera get this lens, you will not regret it. The pictures you will take with this lenses will be your forever favorite ones. Remember Best Buy has 12-24 months no interest and with Best Buy Membership you get 24 month warranty included with lens purchases. PRO TIP FOR THIS LENS: 20 FEET AWAY FROM SUBJECT WILL GIVE YOU A FOCUS AREA OF ABOUT 3 FEET. Being that this lens is F1.2 you will benefit from this info. See you out there. -Vantage Photography

I was in NYC for a photo shoot and accidentally dropped my older EF 50mm 1.2. Went straight to Best Buy to purchase this lens I've been eyeing for a while. Good thing they had the stock. As a 50mm 1.2 user for more than 10 years, this one greatly compliments the mirrorless setup (I use an r6 mk2). It focuses fast, it's efficient and I don't see blown-up whites during the day, something I had an issue with the older EF version. Overall a good buy!

Hands down the best lens I’ve ever owned. It’s pricey but you definitely get your money’s worth. The bokeh at 1.2 is spectacular. The lens is fast focusing and very responsive. The lens is by the far side he sharpest lens I’ve ever had. Even at 1.2 aperture portraits I take of people are coming in very sharp and detailed. This is a must have lens if you own an R6 or R5

In the past I shot with various 50s from Canon and I always had some sort of issues with the lenses. From lack of sharpness to out of control chromatic aberration, these lenses were not the best. This lens is different...sharp, less chromatic aberration, fast focus, and the color rendition, oh my... I highly recommend this lens.

50mm is the most natural aperture and my go to. The RF50 F1.2 combines natural with dreamy with the wide aperture that creates bright images with creamy bokeh. This lens paired with the Canon R5 is a match made in heaven.

Amazing piece of glass, 50mm is my favorite focal length, 1.2 aperture is insane with the bokeh, Have done about 11 shoots with it now, and I can definitely say its one of the sharpest lenses i've ever used in the last 10 years, comparing it to about 12 other L lenses for canon. I will say the focusing is rather slow for anything fast paced, but the lens is so heavy that I dont see it as a con.

This lens is a beast. From the hefty price tag, to the hefty weight, to the phenomenal image quality and amazing bokeh. Not an action lens or a carry around lens, unless you don't mind carrying around a tank. Focusing is very fast, but not instant like other RF L lens and it also makes noise so not very suited for videos recordings unless you use a separate mic. No image stabilization. Each RF L lens has its own specialty, and this one is image quality. If you want unbeatable image quality and don't mind breaking the bank, this one's for you.

Love this lens. The image quality is superb. The autofocus is quick and reliable. Does not have image stabilization and is on the heavier side. But if you're looking for the highest quality 50mm lens for Canon Mirrorless Camera's. This is it.

Clean and sharp images..unless you’re a serious photographer, you can use the base 50mm for under 1/10th of the cost which is under $200 and get nice photos…this lens around $2k would be a waste if photography isn’t a passion of yours

First dip into RF glass and decided to go with the RF 50mm and I am not dissatisfied nor disappointed. This lens produces some of the best images out of the Canon R5 I have it paired with. What Canon is doing with the RF lineup is what convinced me to stay with the ecosystem. New bodies will come out but the real investment is in the lenses. In regards to weight and size: yes, in terms of size and weight it’s different from what we’re used to coming from DSLRs. However, every “YouTube” reviewer over exaggerate the weight and size. Unless you are an ant or an infant you’ll be fine carrying this bad boy around. Overall, great quality lens added to the collection and can’t wait to add more RF lenses to the bag.
