This 50mm lens has quickly become one of my most used lenses. The image quality is sharp, the background blur is beautiful, and it performs great in low light. It’s reliable, versatile, and honestly a staple in my camera bag now. Highly recommend!

The first thing to like is the cost. While normally $199, I got it for $169. It does not get better than that for what the lens can do. This little 50mm RF lens for me is every bit as good as the f/1.8 EF version that I have for my DSLR 7D system. Its build actually seems a little better. Performance wise, the RF version is doing just as great in low light settings, and with the high ISO quality of the new mirrorless cameras, its clarity seems even better, and you are not paying the price of the f/1.2. Overall, it is one of my favorite lenses.

Awesome for the price, sharp and powerful. Great for portrait and stills. It ligth and compact and hold it own against higher price lens. Sounds like megatron when on continuous auto focus on video mode. So keep that in mind.

It feels very high quality for the price you paid. Highly recommend having this lens in your camera bag or on your camera all the time. Paired it with the Canon EOS RP. Super lightweight. Easy to use. Mounts perfectly. Doesn't make your camera look bulky like other 50 mm. Nifty 50 is a stable.

Excellent lens. The bokeh is beautiful, you can get some absolutely incredible shots messing around with this lens. For the price, it's a great addition to your toolkit. Highly recommend! Using it with an R5C. Haven't tried it with video yet.

This is one of the best lens purchases I've ever made. The price is so reasonable, the lens is so tiny, and the sharpness of the glass and quality is phenomenal. Whenever I use this lens the photos are excellent. I wish Canon made more of these reasonable lenses! Also, Best Buy shipped this right away and it came within just 2 days.

This is everything I expected it to be. I had tge old EF version and I lived it but after upgrading my body to the R6 I felt it was easier to get the native mount to cut out the adapter. The lens produces nice clean images and gives nice bokeh for the price. 200.00 is a steal!

Canon 50mm Lens Review
I recently bought the Canon 50mm lens, and I have to say — it’s been an excellent investment, especially for portrait photography. The lens is fantastic for capturing people up close with beautiful sharpness and a soft, creamy background. I’ve already used it for three senior picture sessions, and the results have been outstanding.
The images come out crisp, with great color and depth. It's also really lightweight and easy to carry around during longer shoots. Focusing is quick and accurate, even in different lighting conditions. Overall, if you’re looking for an affordable, high-quality lens for portraits, the Canon 50mm is an amazing choice.
Highly recommended!

The Canon RF 50 mm F1.8 STM Lens was the first lens I purchased for my R5 and I couldn’t have been happier with the performance and value it offers. It renders beautiful images out of my R5. I really like the snappy auto focus and light weight of the lens. It’s a great lens to start off with mirrorless and also a great backup if you already own the RF 50 1.2 USM. I highly recommend!

A lens that everyone needs to have

This is the cheapest lens for FR line of lens. It is similar to its EF version in most function but sell $75 dollars more. Every Canon shooter knows about EF version, and we know how it is like. The FR version is slightly better than the EF in macro, and sharpness. There are couple minor issues that bother me. First of all If you have LENS DRIVE WHEN AF IMPOSSIBLE turned on, it will hunt for focal point when you turn it on with lens cover. Secondly there is noticeable chromatic aberration on photo. However, this is the lens that everyone needs to have for spare lens.
