Having owned Canon, Nikon, and Sony’s 70-200 f2.8 variants, I’m quite satisfied that this sets a new standard to beat. It not only has great color and sharpness, but you can now fit it mounted to the body in a smaller bag. Smaller size means you’re going to want to take it with you. Some folks have reported a focus issue at Max zoom at MFD, but Canon already has a firmware fix in the works. This lens is a keeper.

Wow, this lens is incredible (despite the cost)! Took this to the zoo and was able to take amazing photos. I'm not a professional, but am a huge hobbyist photographer and I've been enjoying using this lens.

Canon products are always high quality. I've come over from Nikon, which also has high quality gear. This RF 70-200 lens is the perfect complement to the R5. It's not as large as the EF version due to the fact that it does extend on zoom, not enclosed, but that really helps with the portability of the lens. One of the reasons many people enjoy mirrorless is to get rid of some of the size and weight. While you can't cheat quality glass, you can think outside the box to see what can be done to accommodate less weight. Canon accomplished this with the 70-200 2.8 RF glass. High quality, excellent performance and a smaller package without sacrificing image quality. Well done, Canon.

Listen to me. This lens is worth every penny if you are a professional. The sharpness, autofocus, and build is top of the line. Oh thank the Lord! This lens is light and wonderful. My wedding season didn't start yet so I don't have any sample images for you guys.

The Canon RF 70-200mm f2.8L lens is an awesome lens. I have used it mostly for portraiture so far, but plan to use it for some sports also. It is sharp, fast and so much lighter than my EF version. I ordered it online and received it in a timely manner.

Upgraded to the RF version to pair with a R5 camera. Very happy with the new version. Much lighter than the EF version and got to reuse the filters as the EF version was the same size. Images are very sharp and am happy with the upgrade.

This is a great lens! I purchased it for night football games under the lights. The wider aperture works great at full zoom with the lighting conditions.

You can’t beat the smaller size of this F2.8 lens! Yes, it has some weight to it over the F4 version and the F4 version is also smaller in size. However, if you find yourself needing a F2.8 lens as a travel or carry around lens… this is the lens that fits the bill.

Great Lens, definitely worth the prices and has saved me several times already. It can take up a little space in your bag when carrying it around but the size is the best its ever been from the previous models over the years. The lens is light weight and easily one of the best lenses I currently own.

Came from a EF 70-200 2.8 IS II, and was expecting this lens to be better...it is not. The motors are loud and are picked up in audio, the extending lens makes me doubt weather resistance and makes tripod balancing a headache.

such an awesome lens (sharp yet buttery bokeh) with its compact body. I love how it works with EOS R. The EOS R body has not unlocked the lens' full potential. I'm looking forward to buy the next generations of RF mount bodies to work with this lens

Hands down this has been my favorite lens I’ve picked up from the RF family. Pictures taken are high quality and the size of the lens makes it easy for transport.

Great action shot lenses! Pairs perfectly with my R6 camera and all attachments. Easily stored with caps included. No issues or concerns. Would recommend using for sports and wildlife shots!

I love this lens! I use it mostly for concert photography my my Canon R6 Mark ii and my R5. It is fantastic and crystal clear. It focuses with ease and I just can’t stop raving about it. I also have the Canon RF 28-70 f2 and this one is such a great addition to my gear. I anticipate using just as much, and if not more than my other lens.
