Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the sharpness and low-light performance of the RF85mm F1.2 L USM lens. Many praise its ability to produce sharp images. However, some users find the lens to be heavy and bulky. The impressive image quality seems to outweigh this drawback for most.

This lens is insanely sharp. I really appreciate the soft falloff from the focus at 1.2, and the bokeh is amazing. I would highly recommend this lens for video and photo, as I do both and it has worked wonders for me.

This is an excellent niche lens for portrait photography. I cannot see much of a use for it beyond that. The image is sharp throughout the entire frame. My only complaint is the cost, this lens would be a better value if it were about $1000 less.

I've been shooting Canon for 10 years, have over a dozen L series lenses and this is by far my favorite. The bokeh is so smooth, lens is so crisp, super fast focusing.

The image is so sharp and the lens do its justice for a portrait. I will definitely like to have this as my go-to lens set aside the bulk and weight.

Completely blown away with how crisp and clear images of people are with this lens. I knew it would be good - but not THIS good. For obvious reasons, don't use f1.2 if shooting more than one person. The depth of field is too great. but one subject? Phenomenal.

While this lens may be more of a niche lens, it is absolutely ridiculous. This lens takes some of the best photos I’ve taken yet. Though the only downside is that it’s not a zoom lens.

I love my new 85mm. It takes sharp photos as long as the focus is right! There is a switch on the side for manual or automatic that is useful.

I currently use an EOS R body and was shooting with the Sigma 85mm ART (another beautiful lens) but I wanted to see how much better a native lens would improve my portraits. Man, this thing is incredible. Yes, the price is high but you are upgrading to a lens you will now be using for many years to come.

Great lens! I love it. I’ve always had my eye on the old 85 1.2 but when Canon released the RF series I decided to upgrade my gear. The bokeh is super creamy and the lens is unimaginably sharp.

Loved the EF version and love this RF version even more. It's sharp, fast, and has amazing bokeh. This version has much more character wide open than the DS version IMO.
