Oh. My. Gosh. As a (relatively) new photographer, I love this lens. I have really taken a fondness to prime lenses, but the 85mm focal length is definitely one of my favorites. This was a good value too. As I almost had buyers remorse, I did some additional post research 85mm focal length options and I am even more satisfied with the native Canon Lens.

It’s a great camera, I use it to take up close jewelry photos from about a foot away. This allows me a deeper depth of field and I don’t have to do any photo stacking. Solved a lot of my problems.

I purchased this as a portrait lens for my Canon R6 and I use it just as much for indoor basketball under poor lighting. It's awesome in poor lighting situations and even better with good light! Love this lens!

Bought this for my wife's R6. She is interested in food photography and shooting close. The 1:2 macro ratio is good enough for her to learn with. It is a nice handling lens, and really has veen nice to shoot with the few times I've picked it up.

Quality lens and macro functions are useful for product photography. Be sure to always check the little switch that limits the focus distance. Not having correct for your subject distance will make the camera hunt for focus indefinitely.

    Decent lens. Terrible AF

The lens is lightweight and produces great images. However, bokeh is not much different than 24-70 f2.8. Also, AF is terribly slow and for any macro shots of anything but flowers fails miserably. Ultimately I will be returning the lens.
