After a lot of research, this was the only portable printer that could print normal size prints under $1000.00. Set up was easy, it was easy to use and prints came out good to great, depending on the quality of the picture taken. It prints via Bluetooth, USB input or sd card. No ink is needed as everything is contained in the photo itself (like Polaroid film). It's a little larger than other portable printers, but folds up and can be taken with you.

Versatile, and portable. I am a crafter and also planner, and this printer has been my best companion. Not only prints in various sizes, but I can take it with me everywhere I go, and it fits in my backpack, my luggage, or my carryon with no problems. I like that I am able to print collages and pictures on the go, and add to my scrapbook layouts or planner pages.

I purchased this for my preteen daughter and she loves it! Prints great quality 4x6 pix and super easy to use. Small enough to keep in her room.

This printer works great! We bought this to use as a DIY photobooth at our wedding and it is super easy to use and our pictures turn out amazing everytime. Its so easy to change the ink also. I highly recommend buying this!

Primary perk for me: you can connect devices via Wifi AND an SD card. (We use a micro SD with adapter.) This was one of the only printers I found that didn't require an app to connect to a phone and would take a memory card so I could print photos from my CAMERA. (My kids don't have phones yet.) Another perk: It's compact and portable. I got a protective case for travel, and it's easy to store at home. It doesn't come with a battery, but you can also purchase one for about $30... very convenient. It's easy to use, quick to print, and the print quality is good. It only takes 4x6 paper, but also gives an option to print images smaller so you can have a collage or wallet prints. I highly recommend!

I was looking for a small photo printer that would allow me to print photos on the fly without lugging around a large printer. This has been great at family events where we can take photos and give prints to family members who may want them. The other thing I love is having the ability to print a new picture for frames I have around the house without hassle. I find the quality of the photos to be on par with what you would expects from a regular home printer on photo paper. It's also cool to have the flexibility to have a built it battery and take it on trips where 120VAC may not be available. This printer fit my needs to a tee.

The Selphy is so convenient to travel with and take to functions such as grandkids B'Day parties. Printing postcard size prints to give to relatives and friends on the spot is such a great thing. I have tried using other types of portable printers, the ones that do the smaller prints, but the picture quality is too lacking in my opinion. Taking a standard USB cable on the go eliminates the requirement to use other's WiFi assets as well as when no WiFi is available. I use my MacBook Air on the go with Lightroom for quick cropping and "tweaking". (I am sure Windows laptops work equally as well.) As a professional photographer, I would rate the picture quality as good. Others have considered the prints to be same quality as those from drug stores and other places that provide prints. I occasionally print ID pictures for grandkids. The photo paper for the Selphy is very tough and hard to tear making it a wonderful asset for ID purposes. For my Selphy and my preferences, I manually set the print brightness to +1. This is perhaps subjective. However, I do wish the printer would retain this setting (I haven't found a way) as I sometimes print a photo before remembering to make this setting first. That is really my only, albeit very minor, complaint. I ordered a battery pack for the Selphy which is necessary for true portability. Prints are a little on the pricey side, but I think the price is well worth it for the overall, outstanding portability and good quality prints. I am very pleased with my purchase - the Selphy is well constructed and projects high quality. Hope this helps.

I bought this small printer for my girlfriend a few months ago to use to print photos from her cellphone. The printer itself and the printing process using the Canon print app from her iPhone were both easy to set up for anyone even a bit tech savvy. The quality of the printed photos is amazing and we framed a few around the apartment. Alas, my wonderful gift was not enough to keep us together in a long-distance relationship literally on the other side of the planet. It was a tough decision, but I let her keep the printer. After settling into my new apartment in New York City, I realize I miss the printer more than I miss her and bought another one for myself.

The Canon Selphy 1300 is really convenient, small & compact. Best Buy was the best price I found for the printer at about $99.99. The printer comes with 10 film samples so you will need to buy the separate box of film with it. Best Buy price matches, so I ended up price matching the box of film from Amazon’s website & it saved me about $10. I bought the white printer at first, but I ended up exchanging it for the black one. The printer is matte, not glossy, so I did not want to get dirty fingerprints on it. I found a video on YouTube that shows you exactly how to set it up (the lady who is asian) was the best setup I found. Please make sure your phone is ON WIFI in order for the printer to print with your internet connection. Each print would be about .27¢ compared to Walmart at about .25¢. I definitely do not mind paying the extra .02¢ for instant pics. Each pic takes about 45 seconds to print. It comes out dry and can be touched without messing it up. Try not to touch the top of the white film when placing it in the tray. It may show fingerprint smudges when the film prints. I ordered 4x6 magnetic picture sleeves on Amazon to put them on my fridge. Professional pics, professional camera pics, & iPhone portrait pics comes out with better quality pictures.

This printer is easy to use and prints quickly. It's fun for the kiddo to watch a physical photo be made. The quality of the paper and ink is about on par with what you would get from the old one hour photo place. The cost per print isn't bad either, especially if you can find the refills on sale. To load the ink you just open the door on the side of the printer and insert the ink spool. It's very easy to do only takes a moment. From there you load the paper in the included tray and press print. I usually load the photos I want on an SD card already edited. Makes it faster. You can crop and perform minor edits on the printer itself, using the small display to guide you. The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that after about 50 prints over a week or so the printer began making a loud screech from the rollers. It also began leaving a solid but faint line down the length of every photo. I'll try cleaning the rollers to fix it. Still, it shouldn't need that level of maintenance every 50 photos.

For those who don't regularly print anymore, this is a fantastic portable photo printer that creates quality images up to 4x6 without any of the headache caused by inkjet printers that aren't printing daily. No nozzle cleaning or waiting for images to dry, just a quick, ready-to-frame 4x6 glossy in under a minute! The downside is that you don't get quite as many paper choices, and the borderless paper from Canon has a slightly rough edge on the two sides where the micro-perforations are.

Easy to use, prints good photos, small enough to carry on a trip for immediate printing

I recently tried this printer from a friend for a photo booth project. And I was really impressed with how compact and quick these photo printers can output 4x6 photos. I decided to purchase one for myself to help quickly print photos and frame them in my house. It was so easy for me to set up and send a countless number of photos. And most photos finish printing in about a minute or two since this does not use an ink cartridge. I would really recommend this for those DIY projects if you don't want to use a traditional printer, or send it to a photo lab, or a local store for printing 4x6 photos.

Great portable photo printer. We take it to our friends house to share pictures. Affordable quick way to print and frame photos for the house or a memory book.

easy to set up and transport for using at parties or holidays, or quick picture printing at home with a variety of connection options- USB, wifi, bluetooth, etc. picture quality is above average, don't expect professional quality but far above ok. Depending on how much you use it, coud become pricy with replacement photo paper and ink, I recommend purchase up front of extra photo paper and ink as it doesn't come with much of a starter pack. probably the best of its cohort of photo printers- 4x6 photo size only options but for what you might purchase this for thats adequate!

I searched and tested portable printers for several months. I studied all the specs and quality of prints. I also was looking for the best one to print 4x6 photos. I was still very nervous after purchasing the Selphy mostly because I was concerned about the quality I would get from a portable printer. I was amazed at the quality of the prints, they are absolutely terrific. To be able to share a photo already printed, in real time, is a big hit at parties, holidays and reunions. Also, the fact that Canon provides the ink and paper together and both run out at the same time is absolutely ingenious. There is no worries as to if your ink is running to low to print quality prints as once the paper is out, so is the ink. This printer is easy to set up and easy to use. One knock is that the one I purchased did not come with a battery.

I first came across this printer at work and I was impressed with how easy it was to print photos straight from your phone. I got one for myself recently and I was happy with the quality of the photos because the finish is a little nicer than glossy. It almost reminds me of the pearl quality photo prints. I also love that you can print from your computer as well. The reasons why I did not give it a 5 star is because my printer shuts off every time I use it before printing another photo. At this moment, I printed 5 photos, and the printer just turned off on me. I hope this does not mean my printer is defective as that would make me a little upset because the printer is not cheap. Also, darker photos appear a little darker when they are printed, but it's not a reason not to love this printer.

I’ve so far had almost every version of this little photo printer and the quality has always been very good! I love the size of printer & ease of printing, cost per print is pretty reasonable and set up easy as well!

We're a big fan of these Canon printers. While they don't last more than a year and a half (we bought the extended warranty this time), they do an absolute amazing job printing 4x6 prints from our pictures. It's not an inkjet printer so the prints are more permanent. (It uses a special ink "ribbon" as well.) We really look forward to using this newest edition to the Canon printer arsenal. (It's a Christmas present but we've seen it work and it works with the same technology as our last one.)
