First off, I am somewhere in between amateur and professional. I freelance with a fairly decent Canon DSLR. That being said, I don't use flash all to often, so I prefer it to be as easy as possible. This flash comes out of the box set to auto. All that is required to do is move the head around depending on the situation. If you are the type of shooter that likes to have all the manual controls, this will still satisfy. Many a settings are available to manual shooters to customize.

This flash is sized right, has all the functions needed and is priced right ! ETTL master or slave capabillities. I have 3 for portable studio use, one on my 80D and two in umbrellas all radio wireless and they work great. I plan on buying another in the near future to use as a background fill flash. The 600 is too much for a camera mount flash IMHO. The 430 just feels better on the camera.

I really love this flash for my work and leisure photos. It lights up a very large space and adjusting it is simple. It has definitely made my picture taking more enjoyable.

I debated on spending this much for a speedlite, and I have to say that I am impressed with the quality and the automation of this speedlite. It integrates seamlessly with the Canon 5D Mark IV and has plenty of power for most applications.

This flash is easy to attach to my camera and performs really well in low light perfect for nighttime or indoor photos.

Good all around flash. Easy to use. And small size makes it highly portable.

I love this flash! A little more compact than the 430ex II, packs a lot of power. I have paired this with the 430ex II and a 600ex-rt. It works perfectly. I use this more than my 600ex-rt. I definitely recommend this lens!

Quality product purchase to provide light where umbrellas and soft boxes can not be used. Only wish it came with a rechargeable battery pack. Buying batteries is costly. Otherwise I recommend this product

My new Canon - Speedlite 430EX III-RT External Flash is very easy to use and compact. It does not take up a lot of room in my camera bag. It is easy to install on my camera and the light is plenty bright.

This is the best Flash for the canon cameras and excellent lighting and we can use in all the dimensions.

Does a great job both in daytime and nighttime. Provides extra light to eliminate unnecessary shadows in daytime and to have a clear picture in nighttime.

The Speedlite is very intuitive, it makes a photo hack like me look like I know what I'm doing. Mates seamlessly with all Canon DLSRs.

Used it for a 50th birthday party and it was great! I did some practice shots and once I got the reflection & positioning for bounce light down, I was amazingly surprised. I really enjoyed using this flash and was thankful that it did not delay at all.

Great quality and overall performance. This flash definitely has some power and can be used as a strobe.

This is a must have, if you really like taking quality pictures. The external flash really makes a big difference. I prefer the name brand vs the generic.

This flash has all the features... is lighter than the 600 series and much more feature oriented than the cheaper flashes. It’s light weight and easy to use. Only con is the ir doesn’t work well across well lit areas.... so shooting people in the shade outside from an area out of the shade where the flash is a slave (also in the shade) can be problematic... this flash also supports rf so if you have a transmitter then this won’t be an issue.

For my first flash, this one is great! Quick and easy to set up and use. Lots of light and comes with padded case. Works great! I highly recommend!

This is my first flash. I think it makes a huge improvement in picture quality. The new control mechanism is very easy to use.

Works perfectly and very beginner friendly! It wasn’t hard to get a hang of. The only thing I’d say is if you don’t know already, you have to get batteries separately.

I really shopped around for a flash in this price and performance range; and, finally, purchasing it at Best Buy was, and is, ideal. Bottom line: Even for a top-end Canon, this flash model is far more than appropriate. I use it, professionally, daily; I’ve experienced absolutely no concerns or faults with it, whatsoever. Highly recommended: 10 *s, easily.
