    Great Architectural Photography Lens

High Quality Lens, well-built, all metal and glass. Wide yet no distortion at all, easy to use, saves me time for it takes less editing and the image is so pure and sharp. Heavy because its all metal and thick glass, the only setback there is no hood for protection.

This is a very expensive, specific use lens. If you shoot commercially architecture or high end landscape this is your lens. But if you don't its not... Its a manual focus lens for a very skilled photographer ready to spend serios money on a specific use pice of equipment. But if you need what this lens does you will get this one and all the tilt and shift lenses by Canon. (17mm, 24mm, 50mm, 90mm and 135) They are all fantastic. 17 and 24 for architecture and landscape, the others for product, studio and food photography.

I had been using 24mm TSE for 5 years already before I purchased 17mm. 17mm TSE is a great addition to my lens portfolio. As I expected it's sharp and built quality is outstanding. It gives ability to make great interior images in small locations and outstanding product shots with creative distortion. I attached one of my recent shots.

I've been a "want to be serious amateur" since I was quite young, but make my living as an architect. I bought the lens specifically for use with a historic renovation project (lots of photo documentation) and know can not imagine living without for architectural photography. It is important to have a basic understanding of how a camera works in order to use the lens (not beginner friendly), and a tripod is basically mandatory. It is simply awesome to be able to capture an entire multi-story urban building facade with correct perspective. Truly an essential tool.

This was a gift for Dad for Father's Day/birthday. He absolutely loves it and is going to be doing a lot of shooting with it.
