For the price and quality, nope. No quality really on it.

I had some requirements for buying a camcorder. It had to look bigger than an average camcorder to get respect, but small enough to fit on my motorcycle. It had to give great video and audio in any conditions. It had to be dependable and easy to operate. It had to have inputs for a microphone and headset. It had to pick up foreground images in great detail while having a blurred focus in the background. The Canon HF G20 does all that and a lot more.

I had my older Sony Camcorder for about 5 years and wanted to update. Purchased this and struggled with it from day one. Now a year later and one week after the warrantee expired, this thing kicked the bucket and stopped working. What a total waste of money for me. I’m going back to Sony which btw has 4K. Bye bye Canon. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Could have bought camera on amazon for $100 less than in store at BestBuy

This camera is great when it comes to picture quality and eas of use. Even the still shots are great. I can't find a major issue with the functions or quality of the camera. It is a great bridge from advanced hobby shooter to a pro level camera. In fact you can do work with this that will rival many pro cameras. But, here is my issue. Many video editors use a Mac set-up and Canon knows this as well as anyone. I wouldn't trade my Mac for 50 PCs. So why would Canon be cheap and not include software to downlaod the movie files from the camera or an SD card. My Adobe sofyware wouldn't even do it correctly so I dropped another $60 for software to do this. It should be part of the package. My other issue is one you can fix with a $10 purchase on eBay. The camera's hotshoe is a mini version and not full size. I use mics that have a full sized connector so I had to by an adaptor. For a camera of this quality I think Canon should assume people will use ad on components that need a full sized hotshot. Other than those two things this is a wonder camera.

Having used a lower end Vixia before, I wanted to get another Canon camcorder. I purchased the cheaper Vixia HFR42 for $299 which was light, flimsy, and did not come with a remote control, so I returned it. I then went with the Sony HDR-CX430V for $699 which was even worse, and decided to fork out the additional $$ for this camera and boy am I glad I did. This one works just like my first Vixia did, easy to use, easy to transfer files, and takes crystal clear beautiful video indoors as well as outdoors. Just plug it in and go, nothing complicated at all with this baby! This is a solid, well made camera that takes professional grade videos at a fair lower end price.

I don't mind to pay more but I don't like this one that's why I never use it

I am so happy with my camcorder, it's high definition, I am using it to record programs for the Internet and for my family affairs, what I also like it's that is inexpensive compared with the quality of the recording. I will recommend to buy this camcorder to all my friends who needs one.
