I was very happy to have a Canon R70 Camcorder replacement for my previous R60 Camcorder under warranty. The R60 body began to overheat & the lens playback screen showed black bars & splotches of color as if the preview function had been selected. The new Canon R70 has a similar lens drift at the end of the zoom, especially near a pond or lake, but otherwise this is a very affordable very useful digital videocamera.

I should have read far more reviews on this item before I purchased it. I needed a camera with a fully functional remote control. The sales person sold me on the remote control smartphone app for this unit. Upon attempting to use it, however I could not, no matter what I tried, get the app to recognize the camera. Then I read the reviews on the app, and found that many, many users had the same issue, but the developers always seemed to place the blame on the users. Typical.

Camera is very compact and easy to use. Like the screen size.

I bought this to film interviews and short pieces for a theater that I work with. The videos were lit well even without lighting equipment. It took me a little while and some research to figure out how to get the files onto my computer to edit them. A word to the wise - store on the memory card and not on the internal memory!

I have been enjoying this camera very much. Zoom is responsive and impressive. Features such as slow motion and variable time lapse is great. Still working on the WiFi functions, but I love being able to pop out the SD card and stick it in my computer to see my movies and pictures. Would highly recommend this camera. Great value, great price.

For the price this is a good camera. Very light, easy to operate and a very good picture quality with good zooming capabilities. The only downfall for this camera is that when you are in the sun the screen is not very sharp so it is hard to focus on what you are filming.
