Was purchased for use by high school football team to film games from press box roof. Does a very good job from a distance & even in some low light, nighttime conditions. Zoom in/out button takes a bit of time to get comfortable with, but is sufficient. Has input/output ports that we are able to use to connect our sideline replay system to. Photo mode and other features not usually used but available. All in all, very happy with this purchase

I bought the canon vixia along with the kit bundle. The price was adequate and Best buy gave me a discount for buying the bundle. Excellent camera if you are in a budget

WE use the camera to video our church services, and it works very well. We are able to couple it to our sound board and the pictures are
very clear.

Much better than my Charge HR. I had my Charge HR for over a year and liked it, but I really like the Charge 2. It keeps me moving. If I'm not moving, it vibrates and tells me to move.

Pros: Super easy to use. Small, convenient size. Lightweight. HD. Footage looks great. I just use it to document vacations, family events, etc.
Cons: Hard to see monitor when outdoors in sunlight. No viewfinder option. Lens does not open automatically when you turn on the camera. You have to use a switch to manually open it. Maybe this could be a pro because it saves battery? To me, it is an inconvenience.
Tip: I always use Cinema mode because it makes all of the video look better.
In conclusion, I would buy this again. It is simple, easy to use, takes nice video, and suits my needs.

I bought this for my daughters first birthday, how do I like it? Well I love it cause it meets my needs its light in weight, easy to use and the video quality is very clear, I even took it to our family vocation where we visited Niagra Falls and took a boat ride I was afraid that it might get wet and not work but to my surprise it was soaked but was working with same quality just had to wipe it, (I do t recommend doing that but just my experience with it) the battery life is great we charged it only once before our vacation and we recorded like 4 hours of video on a single charge. So my review a must buy.

It's a basic camcorder, so what can I say? Actually quite a lot since I'm over 50. You youngsters have no idea how good you've got it… Anyway, it's a nice little camcorder and I haven't explored all of its features yet, so I'll only say the following:
- It doesn't have a view finder. The people sitting behind you in a dark school auditorium will not like you. And the view screen will of course eat more battery. Fortunately, it comes with a big battery and it doesn't need to power a cassette drive, so it's probably not an issue. Maybe I can dim the screen. I haven't gotten that far yet.
- It does have a tripod mount input screw hole thingie, but I had a hard time mounting it on my tripod. Very finicky tolerance, but at least it can be done.
- It doesn't come with any onboard memory. While that might be nice in an emergency, I prefer to save directly to a memory card for semi-permanent backup (after transferring to a hard drive or 10). I don't know, but I suspect if a camcorder with onboard memory dies then there's little chance you could ever recover your movies on it that haven't been transferred. So I see this as a feature -- one that saves lots of money.
The plastic body feels really cheap, but the quality of the video is good if not great. The one time I used it in low light I was not impressed. I'll have to play with the settings.
Who should buy this camera? Let's start with the people on the boat who shot video of Niagara Falls from up close with their iPads. I doubt this camera is all that waterproof, but it's much cheaper and has a strap so you're much less likely to drop it. And your video should be much nicer. Seriously people, camcorders aren't obsolete yet and this thing is both small enough and cheap enough.

A nice solid, powerful, and small video camera. The 57x zoom is ridiculous and I'm not sure I will ever need that much, BUT if I do, then this little sucker will be able to pull it off with no problems. The camera has a little heft to it so as not to feel cheap or too delicate to get some solid use, without worrying of breakage. Quality stuff!

This camcorder does everything I want. I'm just a casual user, but I like the fact that I can record over an hour of hd video. I didn't record more than an hour at a time, so I don't know how much more video I could record, but there seemed like there was a fair amount of battery left. More than 25%, less than 50%, I think.
One reason I picked this camcorder over the Sony CX440 is Sony's captive USB cable, which I think is also used to charge the battery. That seems like that will break sometime down the line. There is a micro-USB connector on the Sony as well, but I couldn't find anything that said you could charge the battery with it.
The Canon, on the other hand, cannot use something like a USB backup battery as an emergency power source. I ended up buying a backup battery instead, but I've never needed it, so far.
One thing that I thought was interesting, was that I recorded some outdoor video in the evening, sun just below the horizon, and the video came out lighter than I expected. But that was a good thing, because you could see a lot more detail.

It's a compact little camcorder, fun to use. Takes some getting used to using the touch screen seeing I have larger fingers but the touch screen is easy to use.

Thanks to YouTube my son asked for a camera for Christmas. My son is eleven and I was looking for a decent and affordable camera for him to use to make his "movies." I chose this Cannon HD camcorder for its compact size and affordable price. As I mentioned my son is eleven and even on Christmas morning he was able to figure out and operate the simplistic design of this camera. He loves it. In fact maybe a little too much, he takes it everywhere. At least he is capturing HD quality footage and learning how cameras work. Over all, this was in my opinion prefect for a beginner looking for a simple high quality video (HD) camera, not to mention it is very compact.

For the sale price I paid this camcorder is top notch. I got this to do table top camera work for my youtube channel coyote vapor works. It is nice to have such a light compact camcorder to use instead of resetting up my hf g40 everytime. this would be a great camcorder for anyone really looking into gettting started with a solid camcorder. I went with the one withoutr memory because I wanted to do 60p and the included memory card doesn't support the 35MBPS option. I am very hjappy with the purchase.

I paid $160 while it was on sale. I use it to record my sons football games. Picture quality is great. 1080p and 60 fps for good slow motion video. It’s lightweight and has held up great the past year. Highly recommended if you can get it for less than $200.
