I know phones are all the thing for taking video, but sometimes it's nice to have a nice camcorder to video tape. Especially a nice and easy to use for school.

I absolutely love this camcorder. I love how it's small and fits nicely in my hand when I'm recording.

This camera is nothing fancy and get the job done and a pretty good price point.

I've used Canon cameras for decades. This camera is good for anyone, regardless of age or experience.

Bought this camcorder based on all the glowing reviews. But after a month of use I find it is TOTALLY WORTHLESS for my needs. Although it is OK for daytime outdoor or bright indoor filming situations, it is terrible in low light or indoor under house lamp lighting or night situations. Extreme graininess and literally unwatchable. My 1987 Minolta camcorder was far, far better in low light than this unit. Cheap phones take better videos in low light than this camera. If you only take movies in bright daylight or sunshine it may work for you. But if you will ever take videos in lower light or at night, DON'T BUY IT!! I totally wasted $200. Don't you do the same.

I read the reviews prior to purchase and noted one that referenced a card reader error. I should have took note. The camera cannot take continuous video for more than 20 minutes. Even with the recommended scandisk the camera would not record to the sd card correctly. The option to take longer videos must be set at the LP mode, not a huge deal, just lower resolution. HOWEVER, it does not work consistently. I even tried to do what the help desk recommended, shooting 15-20 minute scenes and it still messed up. I purchased the HD camera to video our play and both times the card reader error prevented from being able to record. I ended up using my old school mini tape Sony, got the old laptop to fire up one last time and saved the day. Think I'll try another Sony.

I purchased this camcorder, and it malfunctioned right away -- I got an error message saying "cannot record," which would wither come right away (when I hit record), or several minutes into recording. I returned the camcorder and got a replacement. That worked fine for a couple months, and then I started getting the same error again. I replaced the SD card, read online forums, and contacted customer support. Nothing helped. I foolishly threw away the receipt, because the camcorder was working fine for a while in there. If you buy this, make sure you keep the receipt.

Bought new, plugged in 2 different SD cards and keep getting memory card error. So disappointed. This is going back.

The focus was off poor resolution had problems syncing

bought this on 10/21 , went to use it for the first time last week at my daughters christmas concert and the screen was black. called tech support they said it wasn't seeing the lens cover open, i expect more for $269....
