Using to stream with Elgato Cam link and plugs in and works. Works just as well as just a camcorder to.

This was a gift for my wife & she loves the camera & the features.

The only thing that’s wrong with this camcorder, is it needs a better base to hook up to a tripod. Everything else is fantastic!

We bought it as a trial for a blog and we ended up keeping them. If you have good lighting they will do the job.

Great product a little outdated for todays industry

I purchased a cannon Vixia and it worked quite well. IT is a pretty good camera for the money. I would buy it again.

I bought this when my daughter was born so I can record memories and it works very well.

Bought to use as a web cam (along with the excellent elgato camlink) but the output is not sharp at all and the low light quality is fairly terrible (with free of any tools for improvement). Unclear why this is regularly recommended online for this purpose.

I ordered a Canon VIXIA HF R800 online from Best Buy. The camera arrived quickly but upon opening it, buying a memory card and charging it, I was quickly frustrated when I discovered the LED screen was black. No image ever appeared, and this was a brand new camera. I went to my local Best Buy location and they cheerfully exchanged it for an identical model that they had in stock. However, the replacement camera, also once charged and with a new memory card, had a strange technical glitch. There was an image in the LED, but the camera would only record for 7 seconds, then it would shut off. Repeated attempts only produced the same frustrating result. I took the camera back to Best Buy again, and since two cameras from the same model had both malfunctioned right out of the box, I opted to get a refund. Canon generally has a high reputation for quality products, so this particular model fails to live up to those expectations of quality.

I think it will work fine for my special needs son as I have yet to try it out.

The set up and "initializing" the memory cards were a bit daunting so I had my child do it. The pictures look good.
