The camera was a good price. It is nice and small and lightweight, easy to use. Good quality for youtube videos.

The video quality is good as long as there's enough lighting, but isn't as good in dim/low lighting. It would be nice if this camcorder had a light that you could turn on in low lighting situations. The battery lasts much longer than my digital camera's batteries, which is a big plus (I recorded for over 90 minutes and still had power left in the battery). For me, the biggest con is that when recording for long periods of time, the video is broken up into separate files roughly every 16 minutes, causing you to have to use video editing software to splice the separate files together to form one video file. I have good video editing software and can easily do that, but for others that might be a big inconvenience. But because it was on sale for an insanely low price, I decided to put up with the inconvenience and didn't bother returning it or exchanging it for something better.

This is a great camcorder for anyone pursuing a hobby in filming and the like on a small scale. The video can be taken in a variety of qualities, and its durable and portable (I would know, it held up during a two week trip in Iceland). There are some problems with it, though. The camera function is poor in that the photo quality is bad, the video quality plummets with a negligible change in light, and the camera shutter (in mine at least) can get stuck, as it is manual, though this does not happen often. I would definitely recommend getting this camcorder to any beginners in filming, though.

I now have purchased and use three of these Vixia HF R800 HD camcorders with our online Church services. I use them with a four port HDMI video capture card on my computer and stream a 1080p 60fps video live to our YouTube channel. These cameras are simple to use, easy to set up and have decent quality and zoom. This camera would be great for beginning videographers and it does a decent job for an inexpensive price.

I am impressed with this camcorder. I was looking for a top-notch 1080 hd camcorder at a reasonable price without breaking the bank. It's small and portable, has a nice touchscreen and very easy to setup without having to read a manual. I am a beginner, so still learning how to navigate its use--so far it is looking good.

I am very pleased with the purchase of this camcorder. The price was excellent and the camcorder does not disappoint. It is very easy to use and provides quality footage. I have not yet tried to upload the videos to my computer but with the ease of use I have experienced so far, I believe it will be a simple process as well.

Love the long lasting battery now included with the camcorder. I can record multiple soccer games on a single charge.

This camera is so small it fits in my shirt pocket. The resolution is amazing - puts ALL cell phone cameras to shame. And prices have plummeted to an all time low.

I bought this camcorder because I needed one quickly and had lent my normal one to my brother-in-law. We used it to record our Christmas program at church and on a trip to Disney World. Loved it! The camera performed well and the resulting pictures were good. 2 drawbacks...neither of which prevent me from using the camera: 1. It took a very long time to charge initially. Once charged, not problems. 2. It will break up long recordings into separate recordings on the SD card. Just be prepared for it. Otherwise, a nice camcorder that I look forward to using for many years to come.

This is my 4th camera of this model....I use this for work every day....I have gone thru 4 of these cameras in the past 5 years...very reliable, east to use...

I didn't need anything more than a decent video camera to shoot some training videos for personal use. What I got when I bought this video camera is better than I had hoped. I get great quality video and the battery life is really good. I was amazed at the quality of outdoor video even outside of bright sunlight. Indoor video is very good as well.

Decent camera. Looks good in white. Small and compact. Pretty good digital anti-shake. I really like the external microphone jack. Low light florescent indoor light, at night, is not the best. Good entry level camcorder for $180. I put a wide lens on and an external mic. Works well for my needs.

Needed a small handheld camcorder at an affordable price and read many reviews before purchasing this Cannon Vixia. It has met all my expectations, was simple to setup and begin using. Technology is not always easy for me but this camcorder is easy to use and the recordings are high quality. Would highly recommend this to the novice or expert looking for a dependable camera at a good price.
