    Good, but not great

The video quality is good as long as there's enough lighting, but isn't as good in dim/low lighting. It would be nice if this camcorder had a light that you could turn on in low lighting situations. The battery lasts much longer than my digital camera's batteries, which is a big plus (I recorded for over 90 minutes and still had power left in the battery). For me, the biggest con is that when recording for long periods of time, the video is broken up into separate files roughly every 16 minutes, causing you to have to use video editing software to splice the separate files together to form one video file. I have good video editing software and can easily do that, but for others that might be a big inconvenience. But because it was on sale for an insanely low price, I decided to put up with the inconvenience and didn't bother returning it or exchanging it for something better.

Camcorder worked, battery pack was defective

The camcorder recorded excellently. Pretty easy to use and figure out the buttons and such. I need it to film family gatherings, especially over the holidays, so I bought it on sale over Black Friday. It was supposed to just stand on my tri-pod and film. When I charged the battery pack, it would not charge. Left it for an hour, then two and so on. Left it for days to charge, and the battery pack would not charge. The camcorder did film, so the item itself was not defective and when I looked at the hours footage, it all came out beautifully. But, the camcorder filmed plugged into the wall outlet. I had to really find spots where I could find a wall outlet to get my shots and I could not film all over the house as I wanted to. So, I had to exchange for a different one. I am sure that the battery pack was defective, but I decided to try another brand anyway.

I purchased this camera to record parts of a competition my son was on. The camcorder is light weight and easy to use and takes great videos. However......when taking a videa you CAN'T pause and continue, like you can with your everyday smart phone. So I have an hour long video when it should be only like 10 minutes. I don't understand why you can't pause. And I was never told about this or I wouldn't have purchased it.

I purchased this camera because it claims that it has night vision. The camera does not and in the Canon website it does not list night vision but the Best Buy site says it does. There is no infared light or application on the camera for night vision. I have returned the camera. It was a waste of my time. Best Buy needs to make sure their information is correct

I purchased this camcorder to record my son and daughters sports activities and it is light and small to carry around. Down side is that when I removed the SDS card and tried to download to my computer I can't get them to upload. And then when I went back to the camera with the SDS card the videos were gone. It was probably my error but lost about 8 good matches of my sons wrestling tournament.

This is almost a carbon copy of my previous Canon video camera. The one big problem with it is that I didn't know that the camcorder had no capability of setting it to continually post the time and date stamp on whatever's been recorded. The previous Canon, which was cheaper, did have such a setting. I'm required to have the time and date stamp on everything I shoot, and I have to set the time and date every time I use the camera. Very inconvenient for the price.

Great grab and go, resolution is average

Comparing this to my Sony A6000 and my Samsung S7, the resolution of this Canon camcorder is subpar. However this filled a need for me because it costs a quarter of the other two products and allows me to record videos for long periods of time without the device overheating. The face tracking works well and captures a moving subject but the lens are too narrow and fails to keep the surroundings in focus creating this unwanted light bokeh effect.

This camcorder does what it suppose to do. It records you can zoom in and out really good. The only downfall for me is as I'm recording I have no place to put my other hand so the video would be steady. My hand kind of rest on the battery but I don't want to make it week. Over all this camera is great and easy to use. The Velcro to make it stay on your hand is strong and trustworthy.

    Can't shoot anything moving fast

    Posted
    Mike

Even in sport mode, this camcorder can not shoot anything moving quickly at all. It just goes completely fuzzy and out of focus until whatever is moving slows down. Auto focus is painfully slow. It does a nice job of shooting nothing exciting, but forget about going on adventures or recording anything interesting with it.

This was an average camera. The settings were minimal, it was easy to use. The view is pretty zoomed, so it's easier to shoot things farther out. Overall wasn't too bad, but it was less quality than what I was looking for. Also, the video files this creates made it hard to edit without using a file converter which lost quality.

The camera would be great for a beginner camera. Not the best quality, but I could get past that. The zoom makes the quality really bad, but again, I can get past that. Although, we had to return one we got for my school for a 4K, $850 video camera because the quality wasn't good for what we needed.

Bought this to record my kids soccer games. The small screen is very hard to see in the sunlight, would recommend something with a less reflective screen. Video quality is good, just hard to see what you are recording.

Bought the camcorder for my wife. It does not do a good job for close-up pictures. Images were not clear and are very grainy. Works great for distance in both video and still picture modes. Overall, not a bad camera just did not work for its intended purpose.

recently i purchased this camcorder and i had great experience using it. The only downside is if you are used to using smartphone cameras, The display screen is not as good or easy to access it as would be your smart phone. All in all a good camcorder.

Video and sound are decent for family “video snapshots” but holding the camera is awkward and most external mics do not work. Overall, disappointed, but then you get what you pay for. A good smartphone is a much better bet for quality videos.

It’s ok, after I bought it I was told if I wanted to add a microphone, the microphone needed its own power supply. How inconvenient!

The camera comes with everything that you need to shoot a good video but is also limited if you are thinking you need options. This is point and shoot with not many choices on features.

The Canon Camcord was alright. Its fine for basic recording. I was expecting more bells and whistles with it.
