focusing on the character Captain Toad who had a minute in Super Mario 3D World, this is a puzzle based platforming game where you control Captain Toad (and Toadette) as they explore and save each other. Each level has a star you need to collect to win, as well as a diamond hidden for you to find, and an extra bonus thing such as defeat all enemies (while lacking a direct attack), avoiding being seen, collecting a certain amount of coins, etc. A really fun and chill game for all ages, but note it can be quite easy, so if you want a challenge this might not be the game for you.

For a 50-year-old man this game is challenging but not too challenging. I love it and absolutely recommend it for any age because it’s challenging and fun at the same time

I'm a fan of the Toad character so I had to get this game but the game holds up on its own. I like the puzzle-like nature of the levels and having to constantly spin the camera view around to figure out what to do. Levels have varied degrees of difficulty, especially if you're going for 100% completion, which gives everything much replay value. Recently played this with my five-year-old nephew. After watching me for a few minutes, he was excited to take control himself and he did pretty well with minimal direction from me. He also enjoyed watching me when he was afraid of messing up. Basically, this is great for kids and adults of all ages!

Love this game. It's easy to play but still very entertaining. My 5 year old nephew loves it too.

My daughters play this mostly but the time I have spent with it is fun. I try to 3 star every level which can be taxing but it’s fun to try to figure every level out.

This is so cute and relaxing! I used it to fill a gap waiting for ACNH and it did not disappoint. I love how easy it is to go back to over and over again.

This game is a fantastic puzzle game, with fantastic music and charming characters. The package arrived the next day, in secure and protective packaging. 10/10!

I already played a beat this game on Wii U almost 4 years ago, with that being said I love this game so of course I had to double dip when I heard it would be re-released on Switch. This game is all about puzzle solving and finding treasure and coins, Captain toad can't run (fast) or jump high like Mario so you have to figure out other ways of defeating or getting by enemies in order to beat levels. The Switch version includes Mario odyssey themed levels, and also co-op game play which I have yet to play so I can't comment on that. All in all I think it's a cute looking game that makes you think, and it's priced just right for the content available.

Held off on purchasing this until I found a great price drop, but knew I was going to purchase it from playing the demo - do that to be sure you're going to like it!!

This is my first time playing this game on the switch. Is a charming relaxing game that in my opinion is worth the price. The difficulty level is nothing major. Great for any age!

This is a fun puzzle game that brings Captain Toad to life. The boss battles are good and the different places you find items are creative. Overall, 90/100

One of the best games I've played in years. Was not expecting this to be such a masterpiece. If you have a switch you must get this game. Is better in handheld mode though.

I just bought this game recently because I have always had good success with Mario/Nintendo based games. This game is no exception. It is very entertaining and fun to play.

What a great game! It's got puzzles, it's got walking and it's got Toad and it's got Mario's friends and it's got everything you want in a game. What a world we live in!

Nintendo has all but cornered the market on streamlined, cute adventures for all ages. While Captain Toad made his first appearance in Super Mario Galaxy, he's since been spun off into his own puzzle-platforming series based on a very different type of design philosophy than you may be used to. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker debuted on the Wii U back in 2014, but as Nintendo moves much of its legacy system's library onto the Switch, Toad has another shot at stardom. And it's certainly a worthy outing--even four years on--for anyone who appreciates clever puzzles.

The graphics match and exceed in resolution the original Wii U release. Along with this you can play very similarly to the original in portable mode, and though it takes some adjusting the TV mode with pointer controls is well implemented. Definitely recommend especially for those that haven’t played it. The new Odyssey levels are all great, the adjusted ending however feels truncated, and I do prefer the end video from the original. As far as gameplay however which is the main point of this game, this is the best version, having adjusted for the pointer controls that is my favorite way to enjoy this game.

I owned this on the Wii U and I liked it on that system I bought it for the switch again, especially since there in new content and on the go, or in bed or whatever.

I bought this game for my Son. It is fun, entertaining and challenging. I enjoy watching him play. It great to watch him develop and use his problem solving skills.

If you've played the original on WiiU, you're not really missing out on much, but if you didn't or just want to double dip, its worth the already lower price tag.

So having not played this game in it's original Wii U form I came in totally blind. I half expected this to be a game for my young son, but after trying it myself I was quick to realize that there was fun to be had! It's got plenty of familiar faces from the Mario universe and some new introductions as well. I just have one minor issue with the game and that is that it's built to play in handheld. Having to point and click when in tv mode is a little bit of pain when you're already trying to navigate Toad through the puzzle. However, in handheld mode its just a touch of the screen. Much easier.
