I have a small area where I do push ups and sit ups and stretching exercises and needed something to make the floor easier on my back. These pads are very interesting as they have interlocking areas where you can configure the mat to your area needs and there are edges that click in place to hide the interlocking areas which creates a nice straight edge on the mat. I was wondering at first where the edges might be but they were conveniently already installed on some of the mats so assembly was even easier.
The surface of the mat even has a raised surface not unlike some metallic pieces that forms areas that give you grip when you get sweaty from a workout. Very nice touch and it gives the mat a nice custom appearance.
Total time for assembly was around 5 minutes for me as I already knew the basic layout that I wanted and I just needed to experience interlocking two panels and from there it was a piece of cake. This appears to be a durable material. It also looks like it would be easy to mop and clean as needed.

Centr Gym Flooring Exercise Mats - 24 Sq Ft
My wife immediately gave these mats an overly excited two-thumbs up when she saw Chris Hemsworth on the packaging, looking his typically-ripped-self. The photo is accompanied by a QR code that includes a 3-month free trial for Centr. Centr is a personal training app with workouts provided by a host of fitness trainers that Hemsworth claims are the people responsible for turning him into the hunk that he is. I respect what Hemsworth has achieved in his career and personal life, but building a fitness brand empire means moving beyond the workout app. Branding gym mats, exercise balls, and other equipment is a logical choice to expand the Centr brand beyond the app.
We converted a small bedroom in our house into a modest home gym centered around our Peloton treadmill. When we moved in we replaced the carpet in the room with a very thick plush soft carpet before we decided to turn the room into a gym. In hindsight keeping the carpet was a mistake, but it would cost us too much to remove the carpet so we’ve been experimenting with various … let’s just call them carpet covers for the last year with the goal being to keep the carpet alive but provide stability when working out in the room. The Peloton Treadmill weighs 290 pounds and 5.6 feet long so finding something to put underneath it was a challenge. Our first few attempts at rubber mats under the treadmill proved worthless in that we achieved next to zero stability while simultaneously crushing the carpet in uneven ways. Interlocking gym mats were our next attempt but we found that to call them locking is a misnomer and after running a few minutes on the tread they began to separate. What we found worked perfect is a 3/4/ inch thick rubber horse stall mat. The interlocking gym mats ended up in a double-stacked row lining the floor of the gym closet where our dumbbell rack is now sitting on top of it which works great in that beyond pulling the dumbbells off the rack, there is practically no movement to deal with and the carpet beneath is being crushed equally by the uniform structure of the gym matts.
What has been missing from our home gym is a solution to the dumbbell problem while we are working out. Prior to picking up these Centr Gym floor exercise mats we were using our Yoga mats both as our platform to workout on and for the temporary storage spot to place the dumbbells down during workouts, putting a layer of these down in front of our primary workout area. Well that did not work out so well because these Centr mats are terrible. Let’s explore why.
The Centr mats claim to have “an innovative interlocking system for a seamless finish and a slip-resistant, textured top grip surface.” About the only thing true in that entire description is that the surface is textured. While it is true that you can connect the six squares into a larger structure, as soon as you stand on what you have just constructed the only thing you find that is innovative about the locking system is that it does not lock at all and the squares immediately start to separate. Like putting together a jigsaw puzzle we “locked” the pieces together in every way possible thinking maybe we had them connected incorrectly but they would never stay together for more than a couple of minutes during our workouts. Using them as a dumbbell storage system did achieve the goal of not crushing the carpet, but any attempts to keep them attached as a unified rectangle proved impossible. I think the only way these things will stay locked together is if your entire floor is lined with them and the corners of them end up wedged against the walls of the room preventing them from any type of lateral movement.
Aside from not locking together, the matts are not firm but squishy, which makes them uncomfortable to stand on and difficult to balance on when doing Yoga. I can appreciate the squishiness of them if I was dropping 100 pound dumbbells on top of them on a regular basis and wanted them to absorb some of the shock but that is not a scenario we have in our home gym.
As to slip resistance, if I just stand on top of a single tile I could see this as being a benefit when doing Yoga as the patterns carved into the top of the matts do provide a solid grip, but since they fail to be able to stay locked together it was pointless as one tile is not enough to use in this manner.
As a final test, I moved the tiles to a section of my basement which is unfinished, so it’s just a slab of concrete. I was curious if the carpet in the gym was to blame for the lack of locking, but I found that in this use case they still failed to stay locked together.
Overall these mats are a disappointment and I would not recommend them.

I have been using these mats/pads whatever you prefer and they have more than just use for exercise or low impact workouts etc. First, these are thick enough that they provide excellent cushion. They simply fit together like a puzzle piece and these come with boarders which give them a much cleaner look. You can always purchase additional so you can increase your area of coverage. I really like the fact i have found more uses for these just beyond exercise. I have used them to repair my sink as both padding for my knees and back. Also these would be ideal for kids to use while playing so they have that extra layer of protection. These are black in color so they look good anywhere you may want to put them. Cleanup is simple. You can simply use a handhled or stick vacuum for cleaning them or wipe then down with for an example a wipe of some kind to keep them clean and sanitized. They provide excellent support and the "memory" foam in these bounce back very quickly. I plan on buying more for my gameroom and also for my garage. Definately recommend.

Its ok for the most part it would probably be great on using for gyms. I used it for something a little different. I am epileptic I fall down allot. Overall they are awesome for protection I'm 160 lbs while my desk chair is a few lbs. The repeated using of it over and over and movement across the flooring causes the padding to flatten out if that happens there is no chance in it holding together or being put back together it just wont fit.

I ordered online and only received half of what I ordered. When I let them know that 50% of the sqft were missing the rep said the sqft is printed incorrectly on the package and there is nothing they can do. Do not buy this garbage, its a scam.
