Nice being able to do add guest codes

Great Tech Support, TERRIBLE PRODUCT

To say that the documentation is inadequate would be a gross understatement. There is NO documentation - only a QR code without so much instruction as to say "open this." After several tries, it finally worked. Task 1: Charge the Battery. That took more than 12 hours! Spent all night on the charger. Task 2: Set up your opener. I tried a dozen times without success. Spent an hour on the phone with a really nice tech support guy who informed me that my battery was almost dead! My response was, "Are you kidding?! Just from trying to set the thing up?!" Another overnight charge session... Tried again today. After several more failed attempts, the app instructed me to go to the back of the physical opener, so I moved the car, got the ladder but then it just connected on its own! Added my pin, my wife's pin and then a pin for a contractor we use. The first two work, the third one is "expired". Huh? I tried again - multiple times with longer and shorter pins - all "expired, expired, expired". I called Tech Support again. They have no clue what is happening. They said they are researching it and will "call me back later". However, even if we find a way to get the third code to work, the Tech informed me that I'll probably only get 4-6 weeks of battery life with "normal use", assuming it is not too hot or too cold. Are you kidding?! I do appreciate the honesty, but all I can say is, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PRODUCT! It is not ready for the mass market.

But the only thing you miss is the access to the recordings and facial recognition. So as long as you're good with just live video and notifications, you'll be fine.

The Video feature adds another layer of security that is most needed these day. It works well with the MyQ app and works well. It was easy to install and the batter lice is surprisingly impressive. Got it on Sale and couldn’t be happier.

Paid $39 and had it installed for free through TotalTech/Geek Squad. Only downside is that it requires batteries so plan to replace them once/twice a year.

I would love to recommend some adjustments you can try on your settings to prolong the battery on your video keypad. Go ahead and set your Motion Sensitivity Meter to either the low, or lowest setting. This will ensure your keypad is only capturing events immediate to your garage door proximity.

Battery life is average and battery takes 8+ hours to recharge. Buy a second battery.

As far as the unit goes, it works as advertised. The wifi reception isn’t that great, but the rest works fine. Where this fell apart for me is that i assumed "Smart Home Device" had a pretty standard definition. It meant that I could integrate this into my existing ecosystem and use it how i wanted to. That's not the case with myQ. The camera is live view only, so you can't have triggered videos without a subscription. Apparently, they got overwhelmed with the utilization from the Smart Home community, so they turned it off. So, I'm going to have to go another way. If you want a true smart home product, this isn't it.
