I've been using the Chamberlain myQ Smart Outdoor Home Security Camera for a few weeks now, and it's been a solid addition to my home security setup. Installation & Setup: Mounting the camera was straightforward. The included 25-foot power cord provided flexibility in positioning, and the adjustable mount made it easy to get the right angle. Setting it up with the myQ app was a breeze, thanks to the integrated Bluetooth connection. The app guided me through connecting to my 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network without any hiccups. Security Features: One of the standout features is the AI-powered detection. The camera can distinguish between people, vehicles, and animals, which helps in reducing false alerts. I set up custom detection zones to focus on specific areas, like my driveway, and it's been effective in notifying me only when necessary. The face detection feature is a nice touch, recognizing familiar faces and adding an extra layer of personalization. Night & Color Vision: The 1080p full HD video quality is crisp during the day, and the color night vision ensures clear footage even in low-light conditions. The 130º wide-angle lens covers a broad area, and the 360º adjustable swivel allows for comprehensive coverage. Detection Modes: The camera offers various detection modes, including motion, people, vehicles, and animals. These modes can be customized in the app, allowing me to tailor the notifications to my preferences. The smart detection feature ensures I get relevant alerts without being overwhelmed by unnecessary notifications. Conclusion: Overall, the Chamberlain myQ Smart Outdoor Home Security Camera is a reliable and feature-rich option for outdoor surveillance. Its easy installation, advanced detection capabilities, and integration with the myQ ecosystem make it a valuable addition to any smart home. If you're already using myQ devices, this camera seamlessly fits into the setup. However, keep in mind that to access features like video storage and advanced AI detection, a subscription is required.

I've used myQ Smart devices in my garage for a few years, so expanding the system to include an outdoor camera to monitor activity around the garage seemed like a no-brainer. In the time I've spent with it I've found it to be a quite capable, if at times a bit temperamental device. Pros: - Excellent image quality in both daylight and low light conditions. You can clearly see faces, animals, and cars. - Relatively easy setup with the myQ app that can be completed in less than an hour. - Easily integrated with other myQ smart home products. - 25 foot waterproofed USB power cable offers plenty of options for cable routing during setup. - Supports a wide range of advanced features such as facial recognition, vehicle recognition, 2-way audio, and configurable motion triggers. Cons: - App functionality out of the box was less than optimal, with the camera frequently losing connection and requiring multiple attempts at setup. These problems were resolved after a fairly lengthy firmware update. - Most of the advanced features do require a supplemental subscription. - No provision for long term local storage if you do opt to go without the subscription service. - MicroUSB plug at the camera is an odd choice given that the connector isn't known for being particularly durable. - Provided power supply is fairly bulky. Overall I'd still consider this to be a fairly good camera, though I think I'd mostly recommend it to people like myself who are already somewhat invested into the myQ Smart Home system.

Good Camera if you have MyQ subscription service

I have had this outdoor camera offering from MyQ for a week and have been using it after install for 5 days to be able to put it through some paces. Please note that one needs a subscription to utilize all the features of this camera. In the box comes the camera, mounting hardware and charging cable with brick plus a generous twenty-five feet of cable. Installation to my back patio took all of 10 minutes and to shorten the cord, I cut out 15 feet of the cable and then spliced them together then wrapped in electrical tape. Otherwise, I would have an unseemly amount of cord to hang around the camera. Also had to go to local hardware store to get a larger outdoor weather protected outlet cover as the plug in brick did not fit on the one I had. Connecting to my MyQ app and account was a total breeze and took 2 minutes. I then set all the camera specs I wanted (which almost all cameras have now) including my family’s face detection, motion sensing, setting up all the zones I wanted it to include, etc. Very simple through the app. Image quality, motion sensing, night view – all stellar and I was pleasantly surprised that the night view was as clear as it was. In an ocean of outdoor offerings out there, this is a decent choice if you are already subscribed to the MyQ ecosystem. If not, I would stick to a non-subscription camera or stay with one ecosystem for all the needs to eliminate duplicate subscription services.

MyQ Smart Outdoor Wired Security Camera is a nice addition to the Chamberlain security systems that are out, but it's also a good standalone with that mobile app. It has a 1080p resolution that looks good. I was also impressed with the night vision it brings daily. It also has a 130° wide-angle lens and a 360° adjustable swivel lens for even better coverage. It offers fully customizable alerts through the mobile app that can be downloaded from your phone's mobile store. Many premium features, including intelligent and face detection, are available with a subscription. But the standard operating stuff is cool, too. You get live streaming through the mobile app, motion detection, and alerts, so it's still perfect without a subscription. And with other Smart Q devices, the camera can lock doors and close garage doors for an even better level of protection I like the alerts, though, when I'm away from home. It also has two-way communication so I can speak to someone in the camera's view. You should check this one out.

I have and had used many cameras from many different manufacturers throughout the years. What I can say is that most of them have been pretty good and getting better. Mostly because I've noticed that they've have gotten easier to install and use. MyQ has to be one of the better ones I've used. Mainly because if you compare the cost and quality, it becomes a no brainier IMO. Out of the box, the camera has a solid feel giving me confidence that it will last in the outside elements. Power cord is ample giving you flexibility in installing it in different locations. Surprisingly, most other outdoor cameras I've used have quite a short cord. You would think that manufacteurers would have common sense that odds are, that an outdoor camera won't be near a power source. Installation is straight forward and should be easy for most people. Download the app and follow the installation instructions and it was a breeze. Camera viewing angles and clarity was good. Not great. You won't be able to read license plate on the driveway but I don't think that this was what it was intended for. Alerts was relatively quick, not lightening fast, but should suffice for most people. The app is simple and straightforward, I need that. I hate any apps that are filled with things that most of us never use. What I liked most about this camera though is it's size and form factor. I think it is much more discreet looking that my other cameras. So if you want to put it in a location that maybe you don't want people to know there's a camera, this will do nicely. I'm probably going to pick up a couple of more for such places.

I was looking for a basic smart camera to set up to monitor the door of a shop/garage on the property. I didn't need a whole suite of cameras and a giant recording box like with a lot of options on the market. I wanted something a step above a smart doorbell and this hits the sweet spot for me. The packaging is small and the camera isn't too large. I feel like this is a more discreet option than a giant camera you have to really mess with to get the right angle. This works well enough to monitor the door area and anyone or anything that would pass by the area while no one is around. I may get a second one to cover more of the driveway at some point but this is doing a great job for now. I appreciate the small size of the camera and this is probably the easiest camera to set up out of similar security products I've used in the past. The app works well and the picture quality was better than I expected given the size of the camera. Set up and connecting to the app was also super easy. It seems weather proofed well but we've had pretty fair weather since I received the camera. We do have a storm coming this week thah will really put this to the test but with how solidly it installed I'm not very concerned. This is a great option for people wanting an easy install and setup.

The Chamberlain myQ Smart Outdoor Home Security Camera is a decent security camera for your home. The camera supports features such as smart detection, video history, MyQ Smart Secure, and it also comes with a free trial. Some of the other features the camera supports are Full HD 1080p, motion detection, 130 degrees wide field of view, and it comes with a 25 ft. outdoor rated power chord. The camera comes well packaged with easy to follow instructions. There are 2 QR codes on the interior of the box. The first QR code allows you to download the free app for your mobile device, and the second QR code is for the quick start guide. The camera appears to be fairly easy to setup, but I had a few snags. After the camera was added to the MyQ app, there was no camera video. There was a message where the video would appear that said “Reconnect your device or tap to troubleshoot”. After tapping on it, it took me to a screen informing me to check my WiFi and internet. My internet was working fine, all of my devices were connected, and I was sitting next to my router. It also suggested I get a paperclip to press the reset button on the side of the camera to reset it and restart the pairing process. I tried this several times and the camera still kept giving me the same error. I was about to give up, but I received a pop-up suggesting to download a firmware update. After the firmware update the camera was working correctly and was visible on the MyQ app. The video quality is pretty good, but it’s not as clear as I thought it would be. The camera supports color video for daylight, and it uses black & white night vision for nighttime. In order to view your video history the camera requires a subscription. The prices seem pretty expensive in my opinion compared to cameras I have with another manufacturer. Overall, it’s a decent camera but the price of the subscription maybe it’s downfall.

My Q Smart Outdoor Camera. Camera came with a twist lock base that was easy to mount and use. There was a very long power cable with a weather proof connection to the base of the camera. Set up was basically easy. I've had the Chamberlain garage door opener/ controller, and My Q video door bell for awhile. This made set up that much easier as it was basically an add on in the app. I must admit I was not much of a fan of running the cable and finding an outdoor source to plug in the cable. It rains a lot in Texas with somewhat unpredictable weather and extreme heat summers. Running the power source meant keeping the cable and power adapter safe from the elements while trying to hide the cable. Finally, accomplished that, but it took some time. The picture quality was excellent and the sound acceptable. The camera has 2 way sound, but anyone at the camera had a hard time hearing me as the volume was just not that loud. The motion sensor worked well but did have some false triggering due to trees and wind. This will definitely add some extra security to the area around my garage.

The Chamberlain - myQ Smart Outdoor Home Security Camera is a great addition to the Chamberlain myQ line of products. About a year and a half ago, I purchased and installed the Chamberlain Smart Garage Control and a myQ Smart Home Security Camera since my garage door opener did not natively have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and I wanted to be able to monitor and operate my garage door remotely from my phone. I set the original camera up inside my garage so I can see who is coming and going whenever my garage door is opened and closed but I had been wanting to add an additional camera to the exterior of my garage so I could monitor the outside of my garage as well. When I came across this myQ Smart Outdoor Home Security Camera, I realized it was exactly what I had been wanting to add outside with the added bonus of being compatible with my existing myQ system. Installation of the camera was very easy and straightforward, especially since I had previous experience setting up myQ products in the past, but even if you haven’t setup a myQ product in the past, I’m sure you would find it easy to install as well. Rather than including instructions in the box, myQ walks you through the entire installation process step by step via the myQ app on your phone. There is a QR code included in the box to make it easy to find the app and get started. The mount that is included for mounting the Smart Outdoor Security Camera is easy to install and it provides a strong connection to the camera itself. This is important since it is an outdoor camera and will be exposed to strong winds. Also included in the packaging is a 25-foot extended power cord and power adapter which provided plenty of length for me to reach one of the available power outlets in my garage. When it comes to performance, this myQ Smart Outdoor Home Security Camera does not disappoint. With 1080p full HD video and a 130º wide-angle lens, I was able to position the camera to view a large area in high-quality. Even the night vision quality is impressive and better than expected. Additional premium smart features like Face Detection and event recording are available if you subscribe to one of the myQ plans. Unfortunately, there is no way to store video recordings locally, but you can still receive motion and open/close event notifications on the free plan and then pull up the camera view in real-time which is good enough for me. Overall, I am very happy with the Chamberlain – myQ Smart Outdoor Home Security Camera and I highly recommend it.

I own a Chamberlain Garage door, so already use their MyQ smart home app every day. I have been looking at the Chamberlain Outdoor Cameras for a while and was keen to have something connected to my garage door and integrated into the main MyQ app. The short version is the myQ app is good, the camera video quality is great, but there are some nagging issues that mean I can only give this 3 stars. In the box you get the MyQ camera, a VERY long USB A to micro USB power cable (custom designed to provide weather proofing when connected to the camera), and power adapter, mounting kit. Setup was incredibly easy (but not as good second time - more on that later). The MyQ app detected the camera without me having to add or search for the camera. There was the obligatory firmware update you always get with new electronics, but this was fast and seamless. I will say, the myQ app did try to get me to subscribe to a video history plan ($99 a year for 30 days of history; $39.99 a year for 7 days of history). You can skip all of this and get a 30 day free trial. It's not immediate obvious, but close, skip, etc. and you can get 30 days trial before you pay to work out what your need is - I ended up getting the cheaper plan, as I don't really need 30 days. The app lets you set zones, so you can minimize false alarms. In my tests, Zones worked very well. Where the myQ Smart Outdoor falls down and why I am only give 3 stars is the second setup was very buggy. Like most people, when I get something smart I set it up in my living room first, make sure it's all configured before heading outdoors to mount and permanently install. It's always easier this way - in case I need to see their support website, or view a YouTube video. On the final setup (outdoors) the myQ app and camera were both what I would call buggy - as there's no battery, the camera forgot all my settings (WiFi) and the app wouldn't detect it again. I had to manually reset the myQ outdoor with a paperclip, redo WiFi pairing, and it took multiple restarts of the app to get the camera to show again in the app. The second time of power cycling was better - but All of this worries me because it doesn't seem to be great if you lose power and unfortunately I live in an area that gets bad storms and regular power loss. If Chamberlain fix this, it would be a solid 4 but there's enough nagging doubt that I want to wait and see a few months (I might run this from a battery back up UPS in my garage just to be safe). On the plus side, the myQ has the best and most flexible mounting I have ever used. You can easily get the perfect angle you need, which is what mattered most for me, as I needed a perfect view of my vehicles and the garage doors. Overall though, the video quality is excellent and having to just use one app for my garage is great. I am tempted to now go get their garage door control panel that has a camera, between the myQ Smart Outdoor and the camera control panel with its built in battery - it really could be my perfect solution for my garage security. If they fix the way it reconnects when you lose power and that the app remembers to show the video, it's definitely a 4 stars. That all said, I'm also still happy to use it and had it to my home security setup.

Chamberlain myQ Smart Outdoor has truly become an indispensable part of my home, significantly boosting both convenience and security in ways I hadn't fully anticipated. Initially, I was a bit wary of adding another "smart" device to my life, imagining a complex setup and potential technical headaches. However, my concerns were quickly dispelled. The installation process itself was surprisingly manageable, and getting it connected to my home's Wi-Fi and the intuitive myQ app was remarkably straightforward, even for someone who isn't particularly tech-savvy. The core benefit, controlling my garage door from my smartphone, has proven to be incredibly practical. No more nagging doubts after leaving the house about whether I remembered to close the garage; a quick glance at the app immediately confirms its status, allowing me to secure it remotely if needed. This simple capability provides immense peace of mind. Beyond that, the myQ app sends helpful notifications whenever the garage door opens or closes, which is great for keeping tabs on activity. For online shopping enthusiasts like myself, the ability to remotely open the garage for secure package deliveries has been a game-changer, eliminating worries about items being left exposed. Even when I'm away from home, I can easily monitor and control the garage door's status, adding a layer of security that traditional openers simply can't match. While a stable Wi-Fi signal in the garage is essential for optimal performance, this minor requirement is easily outweighed by the everyday convenience and enhanced security the Chamberlain myQ Smart Outdoor provides. It's a genuinely practical upgrade that streamlines daily routines and offers considerable peace of mind.

nstallation and connection to my wifi and the app was easy. Intitially I got a a live feed, activity notices, and (very delayed) activity video. Video quality was good (only saw daytime). Within a few hours, live feed simply timed out with a "try later notice". I still received motion alerts but there was no associated video live or in history. I couldn't see or interact with people on camera, nor see what was recorder (nothing). I reinstalled the app, rebooted, hard reset the camera, switched router bands, all to no avail. My router was 25 feet across an open room with a window beside the camera mounted outside the window. Tech support had me do the same troubleshooting still no help at all. I got this from a promotion for Best Buy to review so I’m assuming if it was purchased I wouldn’t have a problem exchanging it as customer service was very attentive and tried to help me the best they could. I might have just ended up with a dud so your experience may vary. I’ve used their garage door camera and have had no issues so I wouldn’t just write this company off at all. Your miles may vary.

I have to start by saying this is one of the best cameras I’ve ever put up in my garage. We’ll start with the quality of the hardware. It’s made of plastic like most of these types of cameras, but it is very sturdy in the build quality department. It has a bracket for mounting with screws, but I was able to mount mine on a stud, so it works out even better. When I first took it out of the box, it felt a little hollow at first, but after mounting, it feels good. Now let’s talk about the quality of the video. It is crystal clear folks. If you want a camera for your garage back porch front door wherever. When compared to my other camera that I had in the garage for the last five years, it is just leaps and bounds ahead for quality. The video is clear at night, and clear during heavy lighting situation. Recommend this for garages front doors or back porches. Make sure you put it in a position where it won’t be blocked by any of the things in your garage and get a clear shot of whatever area you want to cover. With the application, you can set zones, notifications, and other things. I found the app to be very intuitive because I already use it for my garage, And updated look and design is really cool. It stays plugged in, so that’s a good thing you don’t have to worry about batteries or charge. At this point, I highly recommend it, and I’ll be buying some more to place at the front door and the back door.

I currently have a Chamberlain garage door opener and thought it would be nice to integrate a camera on the app. This camera is a nice addition to help me see who's coming and going, and of course, which doors remained open. This is a plug-in unit that can be mounted outside thanks to its gasket rings on the cable's connectors to prevent water from affecting the unit. You get a generous 25ft of cable to place your camera. Setup is easily done, first with Bluetooth, then by selecting network and putting in your password. You name the camera and designate a space for it and you're done. Sadly, I've had to do this a couple of times due to the insufficient signal strength from my router which was placed only about 35ft away, so a little finicky. The camera does a decent job with the available light in the evening hours, maintaining color viewing when most other cameras switch to IR. The 1080p video resolution leaves somewhat to the imagination if you digitally zoom in any way. One thing I was unaware of with this unit; it requires you to pay a monthly fee to get even the most basic service, otherwise, the only feature available is motion detection notifications. Without a plan, you get no recordings, or any other advanced features like face detection, zone setup, garage door access, etc. If you get a notification of motion, you have to immediately check your camera or you will have no idea what it was from. My suggestion would be to look elsewhere for a camera that gives you all that tech without a subscription.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Chamberlain MyQ camera is awesome. Packaging was simple yet elegant and secure. Packaging materials were very adequate and delivery size very easy to ship to me. Software- i have a chamberlain MyQ garage door opener so this was a breeze since the app was setup. Installation and setup through the app was simple and flawless. No hiccups, no having to restart my router, no warning messages. Just added the camera and everything went smoothness I am going to use this to get alerted any time some one is getting or falling the pool including our new puppy. We had a beagle who fell in when he was 8 weeks old and thankfully i heard him before anything bad happened. This will give us peace of mind for the puppy and the grand children when they come over. Just to be able to keep another set of eyes on them when they are outside playing. We do laundry, cleaning etc when they are over with their parents. So it will be very cool to watch videos after wards as well. Highly recommend this product and definitely will tell all my friends
