Customers frequently mention the camera's good picture quality and ease of use. Installation is generally considered straightforward, and the night vision and motion detection features perform as expected. However, some customers express concerns about the storage options, noting the need for a subscription to record video, and a few find the price to be a bit high.

This is an expensive camera. The night vision is not that great.

Great camera for the garage that is on a swivel so you can hang it upside down. If you have the garage door opener from Chamberlain - myQ, this pairs easily with it.

Very cool device with the ability to view garage from smartphone, coupled with the app I use to open & close my smart battery backed up garage door remotely from anywhere with my mobile; nice!

I added this show when I have deliveries I can rest assured that my house is ok.
I bought the house with the MyQ garage door remote opener and this completes the package for me.

I've been using Chamberlain's MyQ app for years. This is my second smart garage door, and I like them. App has been flawless.
But then I added their security camera to the mix, and it's not as enjoyable or consistent an experience anymore.
The good - the magnet works well, holds it to the garage door opener just fine. Of course I can't see half the garage then, since it's in the middle of the garage and I can't see what's behind it. I could mount it elsewhere if I wanted, but I already have a Wyze camera in the back of the garage that gives me a good view of the whole garage.
Setup was simple enough, the app found it right away and adding it to the wireless network went fine.
Then things started to get flakey with the app.
I can have the live view going, and any time I open or close the garage now it interrupts the video feed, and the video feed hangs. There is an option to link the camera to a garage door opener so they are both on the same page at once, and I do like that feature, but I wish the video played consistently then when I open or close the door.
Sometimes when I don't even try to open or close the garage, just open the app to look at the camera, it hangs and never actually gives me a live view.
Sometimes i've gotten errors instead of just a dead video feed. Sometimes it works just fine.
Now, I have a Wyze camera in the garage as well, so there's the same signal, same walls between the cameras and the access point. And I've NEVER had a problem with the Wyze in here. But the Chamberlain just seems far too inconsistent.
It did get a firmware update right away after it was installed, but no difference.
When the camera is being consistent, the audio is pretty good, and I can hear noises around the house easily enough. The microphone I'm told was pretty clear as well, and my son was able to understand me when I used it to speak to him.
You can set motion sensitivity, but trying to work with the notifications, I'm not able to get some options enabled. I can tell it to give me push notifications but I can't set up email notifications. They offer a 30 day storage subscription, but since I was not planning on using that I didn't want to actually set it up. So I'm guessing it's in THAT section that you can enable email options for notifications. So that means if you don't pay the subscription fee, you won't ever be able to do email notifications. And that's another downside, the only way to get storage is to pay them for it. No card options here.
You have the option to enable or disable night vision, and you can flip the image in case you end up placing this somewhere that would have an upside view otherwise. You can also disable the microphone, as well as set the volume for talking back.
The visual quality of the camera is fine, looks like most cameras out there, clean and crisp.
I just wish I had a more consistent experience with it in their app. And with other camera options being so much more reliable at a fraction of the price, this just ceases to be any kind of value.

I'm no stranger to cameras in my house. I've been using other brands of cameras around my home for a few years now, including one in my garage. I appreciate the ability to drop a camera just about anywhere.
Chamberlain has been in the smart garage space for a few years now, and I've been using the myQ Smart Garage Hub since 2017. I've really enjoyed the ability to control my door from anywhere and to receive alerts when it opens or closes. My favorite thing--not having to worry about leaving the garage door open overnight.
Chamberlain now makes a camera for the garage, dubbed "Smart Garage Camera," which at first glance is just a camera. Installation is simple; the myQ app walks you step by step through the process of connecting and mounting your camera. The camera has a magnetic base, a clever addition that could mean tool-free mounting. The video is clear and the camera supports two-way communication. And just like that, you have a camera in your garage.
"But wait," you might say, "didn't you already have a camera in your garage?"
The difference here is when the camera is connected to the Smart Garage Hub (now called "Smart Garage Control"). For an extra $30 you can connect the hub and the camera, so that real time alerts from the sensor trigger live video recording of an event. And for $3 each month you can save a week's worth of recordings in the cloud.
The myQ app has improved significantly over the last four years and is now very usable. It allows creation of schedules and additions of guest, allowing you to provide access to your garage to others.
The final step to setting up the camera is to turn on Amazon Key, their in-home delivery service. The app pushes this quite a bit during setup and reminds you every time you look at the home screen. Admittedly Amazon Key is not for me (I still think that's a little bit weird), but my biggest complaint about the camera is its inability to SMOOTHLY integrate with Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant.
That's not to say you can't make it work--I'm a bit of a smart home "DIYer" and eventually got the camera added to Google Home, as well as the control added to Apple Home (via Homebridge), but I can't get the two components under control with a single assistant. I'm an iPhone user and didn't have an Android phone to test with, but this is the place where Chamberlain missed the mark just a bit. Forcing users to interact with smart home devices strictly through a dedicated app is archaic and not at all something I'd expect to see in 2021.
Chamberlain does offer a device called the myQ Home Bridge (not to be confused with "Homebridge") for another $70 that adds HomeKit support to their lineup, but it's unclear to me if the camera is compatible with that device.
In the end, I now have a camera in my garage (which I had before), a sensor on my garage door (which I had before) and the two connected to one another in a seemingly useful way. But I'm not convinced that buying a separate, dedicated "garage" camera makes senese for someone who already has cameras throughout their home. The myQ camera retails at $149, which isn't unreasonable from a price perspective. But being stuck in a dedicated app is frustrating.

Pros: Video display isn’t bad. Item mounts right on to the garage opener.
Cons: Subscription required, doesn’t not work with other products such as the Ring. You must leave one app to view footage from the MYQ app.
