Works great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably should give this 5 stars. Very easy to use and makes great tasting food. Started with french fries cut from fresh Yukon gold potatoes. Produced crisapy on the outside and soft on the inside fries. Care needs to be taken to cut uniform sizes when cutting the potato. Next tried a chicken and broccoli dinner with surprising results, I never expected crispy broccoli but it was fantastic. Cooks bacon with absolutely no mess and done to perfection regardless if you prefer yous chewy or crispy. So why 4 stars? Just a little small and lacks the temperature control of some of the other units out there. Definitely recommend.

Good addition to your kitchen aresenal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having a few friends get air fryers and reading online all the positive feedback of cooking with an air fryer I decided to pick one up. I have never owned any other Chefman products in the past and so far I have had a good experience. This air fryer is almost entirely plastic except the metal basket and basket tray. Both pieces say they are top rack dishwasher safe but I have just washed by hand. Not sure how the plastic handle would hold up in the dishwasher long term, but Chefman does say no problems. Overall it is pretty easy to clean after each use, there really isn't much to it, and i'm not worried about anything breaking on me even though it is plastic. I have been pretty satisfied with the food I have cooked in this thing so far. You cannot just batter something up and throw it in there like a traditional fryer, so I would recommend checking out the included recipe book to get a better idea. Foods like french fries are super easy of course but my first attempt at some home made chicken nuggets was a little rough. Tasted fine but didn't get to that golden brown color you would hope for. After checking around online and reading some of the recommendations out of the cook book they include the second round came out much better. It seems like the way this this thing works is really just a big stand alone convection oven. Nothing wrong with that but just don't take the "fryer" term too seriously. Everything I have cooked so far has tasted good and had less grease by the time it hit the plate. Functions are pretty basic just temperature and cook time, no preset modes or cook times to depend on. Display is easy to read and has large white numbers. The basket handle feels sturdy enough and the machine itself isn't "ugly" but probably wont be your favorite appliance to display in your kitchen. This Chefman air fryer seems like a solid addition to my appliance arsenal.

What a great addition to my kitchen appliances
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say...I really love how my meals come out using this air fryer. I made french fries and they came out nice and crunchy! Better than if I baked them, like I normally do. There was no taste difference except the fact that cooking with the air fryer is healthier than using all the oil and grease I would use over a stove top with a frying pan or baking in the oven with some oil on top so they don’t come out dry. I also made pork chops and let me tell you, they were a hit at dinner time. They were easy to cook and they came out very nice and juicy. I think they came out better than if I cooked them over the stove top using oil or in the oven. I was really shocked at how juicy and flavorful the pork chops came out and I used zero oil. It states you can add a teaspoon of oil if you like, but I didnt and they came out great. My family was impressed at how yummy they turned out. I’m so excited to try some other dishes. The only downside I can see is the amount you can fit in. I was only able to cook 3 pork chops at a time for 15 min. BUT if you think about it, when your cooking over the stove top you can only cook so many at a time and you actually have to stand there and watch them and turn them over. I placed my pork chops in and came back to take them out at 15 min and put in 3 more and so on and so forth. It says to turn them, but I didnt with the last few batches and they still turned out great. I love that I can place my food in and attend to other things and come back to take them out and put more in. Plus, its a healthier way to cook meals. What more can you ask for. I’m super stoked about making some more dishes with my air fryer. Also, it has a few recipes to try out (even cupcakes...who would’ve thought) and it gives you a guide of how long to cook certain types of food. Makes my life so much easier!

good "little" fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this CHEFMAN - TurboFry to see what the new craze was all about. Air frying. When I received the unit it was pretty large, I thought wow, I will be able to make a whole meal for my family of 4 all at once. When you actually pull the fryer basket out of the unit there is no way I could cook enough food at once to feed everyone. The directions are very simple. plug it in, set time and temp, put food on tray and insert fryer basket into unit. sooo easy! I first tried pork chops. I bought 8 medium sized pork chops(2each) to try out first. I put olive oil and seasoning on the chops and went to place them on the grill but only 4 would fit in a single layer. It says you can stack food but there was no way that even this fryer could brown in between the chops during cooking. So i did 4 at a time and followed the online recipe time which wasn't even close to enough time. It said 9 minutes and turn the chops half way through cooking. They were still almost raw at that point. So I checked the cooking times that came with CHEFMAN - TurboFry and it said 15 minutes, turning half way. So after trial and error and about 17 minutes the chops came out great. The 2nd batch I put in for 16 minutes and turned half way and they came out better. crunchy, crispy and golden brown. probably better because I didn't have to start and stop the unit 4 or 5 times to check chop temp. The best part was that i only used maybe 4 tablespoons of olive oil instead of a whole pan full of vegetable oil on the stove-top like we used to use. So of course I had to try wings and fries also. I filled the basket with wings (about 10) and they came out delicious. Now if you were to put them next to a batch of deep vat fried chicken wings the latter would be better tasting, but the taste compared to the calories and fat you are saving is definitely worth using the CHEFMAN - TurboFry. Frozen fries also came out golden brown and crispy. a little oil spray on them, salt and in 18 to 20 minutes... delicious fries. Clean up is almost as easy as the setup. I didn't go the dishwasher route, I just used a little dish soap and sponge and everything wiped away real easy. rinsed off and done! I like this brand, CHEFMAN - TurboFry, but will definitely look for a larger fry basket the next time I buy one.

It just works!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chefman - TurboFry air-fryer is a quality kitchen appliance. The controls are straight forward and the display panel is bright & easy to read. It's quiet in operation and a breeze to clean up after each use. It's readily apparent that this is a quality unit from the moment that you unbox it. It's designed for easy cleaning, inside & out. One thing to pay attention to is the rubber feet on the bottom. On our unit, three of those highly compliant rubber feet had become detached during shipping. They reattach easily but simply reinserting them back into their slots and they do stay put during normal use - so make sure all four are snug before you get going. It probably would have been better if they were held in place with a small amount of adhesive - but no big deal - I chalk it up to simple transportation vibration. We ran through all the typical snack foods and were really impressed at it's ability to cook evenly and thoroughly. I have to admit that battered shrimp is now my favorite weekend snack. This is a quality unit and I can confidently recommend the Chefman brand and this particular model. This is a great 'tool' to have in the kitchen and a better way to cook fries and other finger foods for gatherings & parties.

Crispy and healthy with no compromise on taste
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are a foodie who loves to gorge on fried food but are looking for a much healthier option, then this is the product you are looking for. You can prepare a wide variety of dishes in this Chefman air fryer and enjoy eating them guilt free. I tried quite a few things ranging from Bread pocket pizzas to chips to kebabs and they all turned out really good. The pizza pockets and lentil kebabs were very crispy . You just have to brush a little oil or butter on top for it to give you the right color and texture, but definitely much better than dipping and frying them in a hot pot of oil. Taste wise maybe not as good as deep fried ones but definitely pretty close to them and much lighter too. The chips tasted better a day after they were prepared. They probably needed some time to rest and cool down. However, they were a tad soft in the center but crisp around it. All of them were not evenly fried since they were all not of the same size and thickness. That is one thing you need to take care of. Either cut them all the same size or keep monitoring every now and then to remove the early fried ones. Usage wise it is very easy to operate. You just have to set the right temperatue and time and the fryer will take care of the rest. You don't have to wait for the oil to heat up, adjust the heat every now and then and keep tossing oil on the food for even frying. Another plus point is you can reheat the fried food and have it stay crispy before serving. Much less tiring and a convenient option. Size is also perfect to fit in well in any corner of you kitchen counter top. Would definitely recommend this product for your kitchen.

Best fries in along time
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, my first experience with an Air Fryer. I have a high end air oven that does fine but I needed something easier to clean and cook smaller quantities. So my wife prepared 3 pounds of fresh cut potatoes soaked in salt water and drained. Tossed the load with a little olive oil and put it in the oven. Set the time for 24 minutes and checked it at 10 minutes with a full turn of the contents to put the bottom fries on the top. Did another check and turn at 8 more minutes. Then added 10 minutes and it turned out perfect. Me an the kids were fighting over the last few fries. So the person that burned their food you need to check this at the 50% point and adjust the time and number of food flips at each check. If you are cooking one layer of food then you may get by with a simpler approach. Unit worked out of the box and had two cook books plus instructions. The model I got was not super large and the perfect size. Unit is 10 amps and will work on all circuits.

Bypass this one, exterior heats up
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Saw the ratings and reviews on this and decided to pull the trigger on a daily deal, not worth it. The pull out drawer was off center and heat was leaking out the side, took 3 times longer to make one batch of fries, and not really done, but black on the ends. Returned right away, come to find out Best Buy does not refund the taxes, which seems illegal to me. They only refund the item price, even though the product drawer was defective. With a 2 hour wait to talk to someone about the refund, frustrated, but will follow up with them

Air Fry Goodness
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been interested in air fryers for a little bit but never actually picked one up. Ended up going with the TurboFry because the product wasn't too large, but has a good size tray, the digital display was a little more appealing than the analog. Everything is pretty straight forward, you have the fryer and manual that comes with suggested cook times/method and a small cook book. I haven't got around to trying anything too fancy but I do really enjoy making snacks for the boys in this thing. I have thrown in a few different frozen foods from mini Corn Dogs, Fries, Pizza Rolls among a couple others and you get the nice crunch to them without preheating the oven or worrying about heating up oil. It did take a couple times to get the fries correct, as you need to be sure and toss them during cooking and don't pack in too much so that the air can circulate. I may try and get bold and take on a couple recipes in the book, there is also a ton of recipes online, as I stated before the main thing was making these food that are best fried without any oil. All you do is fill the tray, plug it in and set time and temp, minutes later you got a crispy snack.
