Love my chromecast. Have one on any TV that doesn't have a ps5 on it for streaming services. Been a couple months now and the UI is still snappy and constantly getting updates for the streaming apps. Also like that they have built in settings to be able to control the TV and soundbar all from the included remote. Have been able to save a ton by getting better quality "dumb" TV's and just adding one of these for all my streaming needs.

Easy to use and excellent interface with no lag! The built-in voice command on the remote actually works pretty well. Overal, great improvement over the original Chromecast and the addition of a remote makes it one of the simpler plug-and-play devices in any home viewing setup.

Listen - every crappy tv has a smart feature now, some are good, most are not. I had several older chromecasts, without the remote and another roku tv, I replaced them all with this updated, with remote and I don't regret it at all! The remote is handy. Basic functions and I rarely need my tv or receiver remote any longer. The interface is awesome, I don't need to use my phone everytime to cast my hbo, netflix, hulu, etc.... I just use the remote and interface and it works great. BUT.... if I want to cast from my phone, it still works the same. The new devices play better with each other, so I have all of them in a group, so I can play music in all (or some) rooms and it works better than the old devices. All in all - I really recommend these and they are well worth the money.

Chromecast with Google has been a nice addition to our household. Compared to the previous models this one differs as all of the applications are running natively on the device itself versus having to “cast” your content to your tv. I never would have considered one before on account they did not have a remote. Moving on, everything about this device has been redone. The interface is attractive and all of your favorite applications are easy to find. WiFi connectivity and picture quality are excellent. You can also still cast if there are certain apps not yet available (cough Xfinity Stream cough). I can’t speak for the audio as I do not have a surround sound set up however it works well for stereo output. The items I’m disappointed by include a lack of polish and Google Stadia not having an available application. I’ve had one too many crashes since I set mine up. Regarding Google Stadia I ended up sideloading this application. It’s kind of bewildering that Google would not include an app for their new game streaming service. Other things I can say are that the controller is utilitarian and the process to set everything up was relatively painless. The takeaway I want everyone to know about is that the Chromecast with Google is a pleasure to use. After we bought our first one for the living room we decided to get a second for the bedroom. Our Roku’s have found new homes.

Great product. Great interface, easy to use, all my video services in on place and the remote is good as well. Wish the remote had more video service buttons(only has for YouTube and Netflix) but with the Google assistant voice button you can just go to whatever you need quickly.

I recently upgraded my streaming setup with the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) in the Snow color, and it has completely transformed my viewing experience. This device offers stunning 4K HDR quality, making everything from movies to sports look incredibly sharp and vibrant. The difference in picture quality is truly night and day compared to standard streaming. The user interface is smooth and intuitive, integrating seamlessly with Google TV. It effortlessly organizes all my streaming services into one place, making it easy to find what I want to watch without switching between apps. The voice remote is a fantastic addition; it responds accurately to commands and makes searching for titles a breeze. Setup was a cinch—just plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi, and you're good to go. I was streaming in minutes, and I appreciate how the device automatically updates its software in the background, ensuring it always runs smoothly. The design of the device is sleek and unobtrusive, blending perfectly with my TV setup without any messy cables. It's not just functional; it’s stylish too. In conclusion, the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) is an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their home entertainment system. It offers superb image quality, a user-friendly interface, and smart features that cater to all your streaming needs. Highly recommended for a futuristic and enjoyable streaming experience!

One of my favorite things about this new version of Chromecast is that it comes with a remote. Sometimes opening up a video app on your phone and casting it to the old Chromecast felt clunky and the connection between the phone and the device wasn't always reliable. This version fixes the problem with the remote. Casting from your phone is still an option, and having a remote to navigate the user interface means you no longer have to rely on the playback controls on your phone. Being able to select apps from the Chromecast itself is also a welcome feature because you no longer need to have apps for every video service on your phone.

Best bang for your buck in streaming

This may not be the best streaming device on the market, but it is certainly the best value on the market and the device I would recommend to most people who are looking for a streaming device. The user interface is very nice and well organized, it provides wide support for many different apps and does not delay the release of apps for months while they fight streaming services for more lucrative contracts like Roku and Amazon have done. This device is also very easy to use, virtually anyone should be able to set it up and use it with little or no assistance. It is missing an Ethernet port which is a limitation, but as long as you have decent Wi-Fi that won't be of much concern. If you are looking for the best bang for your buck this is the streaming device I would recommend.

Love this, not only for features but for size. We were heavy Roku users prior to purchasing this and definitely think Chromecast is a better product overall. Very simple set up and integrates well with other Google Products. I like how if combines all the various streaming services into a singular location and provides recommendations across the various platforms. Not all services are searchable or accessible by the assistant at this time (think it has to do with the companies not agreeing on terms or something). I have had a couple instances of a glitch where the video would freeze but the audio would continue - potentially the last updated fixed that as it hasn't happened in a while. Overall it may be less useful if it is the only Google product you have, but if you have Nest speakers and other Google products in your home it is the superior choice.

I am still learning this product. The setup was very easy. I am able to cast the video from my iPhone to the tv and I was able to pair my headphones to it which is really great to watch Udemy videos. The remote is very nice. Definitely will recommend to anyone.

    Chromecast VS Firestick VS Roku

Ypu may be wondering which device you shoukd choose between the firestick, roku or chromecast 4k.. the answer is easy GO GOOGLE. While the other devices are android based devices also there is no beating the android device made by google. Chrmecast has the FULL GOOGLE PLAY STORE not a watered down app store like firestick and roku. A big issue with firestick is all of the amazon advertisements constantly trying to get you to biy this subcribe to that or rent this.. its in your face always. Chromecasts google tv interface is clean and not invasive. You DO have the ability to install custom launchers on chromecast where that ability has recently been removed on firestick and it was never an option on roku. The chromecast remote takes some getting used to with its pill shape but it does what ts supposed to. Roku is easily the worst device of the 3. It shouldnt even be in the same ballpark due to lack of customization and lack of apps (or channels as they are referred to on roku). Dont make it difficult, the chromecast 4k is the best streaming device you can get today. Yes the Nvidia shield does everything the chromecast does plus more but it also starts at $150 which is triple the cost of the chromecast 4k. I wish the chromecaat would go on sale more often (it can sometimes be had for $34.99 instead of $49.99).

Much better than the original chromecasts! I bought this for my mom and the fact that this version comes with a UI and remote is a game changer. No need to explain how chromecasting from a phone works anymore! It’s also a much cheaper alternative to Apple TVs.

A bit slow on boot up and occasional buffering issues across apps, despite good internet connection. Nice interface that combines all platforms/apps in one place so you can 'Continue Watching' on any of your apps from one main screen. The remote is simple but nice, and the voice control works pretty well.

Best tv streaming ever-also can play emulators with the right USB c hub. Interface is like Apple TV but thats not a bad thing at all. It does everything a chromecast can do but it has more functionality and ease of use. Remote come with batters even.

Just like the HD model I bought a few days earlier only easier to install because I knew what I was doing without the instruction manual. Actually, they were both very easy to install. The 4K model has worked flawlessly since it was installed. After using an HD model and the 4K model for about a month total my only issue would be that the controls don't always perform the same function on different viewing platforms (e.g. YouTube TV, HBO Max, Peacock). The buttons on the remote perform slightly different with different services. Overall a simple little unit that works well.

If you live in the Google & Android world, this is currently the best, least expensive, way to experience the same apps you use on your phone/tablet/laptop with your television. This is the fourth of these devices I have purchased for my home and all of my "media" apps are available. Netflix, Amazon Video, HBO Max, Disney+, and more call all be enjoyed on your TV regardless of who built it with one consistent interface. There are other Android TV devices out there, but right now they are at least twice the price and none of them use the "Google TV" interface that makes this SO good. The included remote can control your TV and audio system using infrared or CEC. You can also set up a Logitech Harmony Hub remote to be the controller so you get all the advantages of that one remote to control your whole home system.

I usually don’t right reviews but here it goes. The device is not hard to setup. Installing apps is a breeze and installing 3rd party apps are also pretty easy to do which I added a browser to the device. I bought usb - c adapter with Ethernet online and this device recognized it right away. Now I have mini keyboard mouse combo with usb drive and Ethernet running way faster and without hiccups in the two days I had this mini box. Vpn works out of the box and most of those codecs folks are complaining about the device has i am sure it is a matter of a little time to have them working on Vudu and other apps folks it just been out a couple of days. The 4K does not flicker like tivo stream 4K. If you have both on tivo stream disable HDMI CEC and that flickering should does that I both of my Vizio 4K TVs. On this device I can have it on and control sound bar and turn of tv without an issue.
