Pros.
Quick and easy connect start by using Google home then you'll get to a point where it's at a standstill with a bouncing triangle circle square and finish it off using the remote.
2 The little remote is great people that complain it's too small will call a little waaaambulance for them. As it feels nice in the hand everything has a nice click feel to it it has back the Android speak function button home mute YouTube Netflix at the bottom power and forward and for the people that complain that the buttons are on the right have you ever owned an Android phone ? well as far as I know all volume buttons on smartphones are on the right and yes they did it on this Chromecast device That's very simple to use they make a deep enough click that you can feel when you've hit them for up or down volume and you can also see the numbers on your television or soundbar change when you adjust the volume.
What brought me the most joy was not this tiny remote can turn off my Sony 950H television and my LG sound bar that's connected via EARC unlike the 950H Sony I just purchased which is an all-around great TV and when I power it on it turns the sound bar on but when I power it down it mutes the soundbar??? Well problem solved now thank you new Google Chromecast.
One of the best features is once you have it set up just by pressing the Android speech function button you will say Chromecast settings and go under picture and sound and then I believe is the third one down and it just says match and you click that and it should be toggled off if you toggle it on it will match or try to match your TV settings it doesn't really do it but leave it off because this way you get Dolby vision free and it can even take 1080 streaming and upscale it into Dolby vision on both my Sony 950 HTV and my LG OLED c8 TV.
I didn't believe it at first on the Sony so I went to the LG because on the LG OLEDs in the upper right corner of the TV whenever you're watching anything higher than 1080 it pulls down a little logo like HDR or Dolby vision to let you know what you are watching in and you even can go to settings and see that the settings have been toned way down because Dolby vision is much brighter it has a 60% bigger spectrum I believe than HDR/HDR+. Those put out about a million colors Dolby vision puts out 60 million check it out on YouTube compare HDR /HDR+ to Dolby vision and their color gamut.
Now I was blown away on my first movie I strained as I was lucky enough to find a site that streams in 1080 and it took that 1080 and upscaled the picture to HDR DOLBY VISION. Even on a streamed 1080 dark and scary movie and made it absolutely crystal clear(and usually those come out slightly pixelated or you can't see any background objects well not anymore) , better than I have ever seen a 4K Blu-ray on an OLED TV.
okay on to the last thing and you can also check this out on YouTube.
The negative is if you had the previous version the Chromecast ultra you will know that had a WLAN port built in to the plug/outlet and this does not.
But go on YouTube and look up how to turbocharge your new Chromecast or Google TV and it will show The device you need and how to set it up it's very easy and only about $20

This has been an awesome streaming device. So much better than the original chromecast as this has an interactive UI, installable streaming apps and games and can still chromecast.
The device even received the Apple TV app for access to TV+. Now I can really take advantage of my 12 month TV+ Trial.
My mothers chromecast recently failed on her and I recommended this and she was able to configure and set up herself and she appreciates using remote vs phone.
I did have some boot issues a few months ago and if you experience similar make sure to push the physical button on the device itself. I spent days ignoring the device before realizing there was a physical butting for restarting google tv.

I have used smart TVs and fire sticks for many many years and this blows them out of the water. The performance is significantly better, the UI is easy to navigate, and the hub of apps feels seamless. Highly recommend this over smart TV native hubs and fire sticks.

This, by far will replace the Firestick! So easy to set up, works my smart home with ease. 4k UHD is great, supports ATMOS. Remote is easy to use and comfortable in your hand, although a tad on the slick side.

We had the 2nd generation Chromecast, which was just a device that let you stream from your phone to your TV. This Chromecast is so much more. It comes with built in apps so that you can directly stream YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Prime Video, Hulu, ESPN, etc. from the device, no need to cast from your phone (but it still can do that, too). The remote is easy to use, and comes with a voice feature that makes it super easy to use (just press the button and say something like "Watch Stranger Things on Netflix" and it works perfectly. It also supports resolution up to 4K. Definitely a nice streaming device.

It seems like a great product, the user interface is awesome, but the device itself has too many short comings for me to recommend it. It doesn't have enough storage for the apps so it runs out of memory for updates. Sometimes it turns on to a black screen and has to be unplugged for a few seconds so it will start properly. I really wanted to like it but just has too many issues for me to be able to recommend it.

Ease of use is so much better than roku. Voice control works great. Fast and fluid interface. Very intuitive. Only app missing is Apple TV but that’s not a big loss really. Great value for the price.

This was great when it was working! The first 5 months or so, I had no issues. Streaming was fast and it was easy to set up. I also really enjoyed the suggestions it would give me on the home screen. The remote was also easy to use and had no issues with it. Google assistance was a hit and miss sometimes, but I just found you need to be very specific with your commands for it to understand you. HOWEVER, after the first 5 months, it just stopped working. I started to lag when streaming, and these weird lines began to appear when watching anything. I had to take it back to the store to recycle because I just couldn't use it anymore. No sure if I just received a defective one or if the device has an expiration date of 5-6 months but be warned.

Our first chromecast device. I've been meaning to get this due to ability to install different streaming services apps and ease of use. Our old samsung tv doesn't support all the streaming apps we us and this absolutely helped address those. Layout seems intuitive and easy to navigate however there's still limitation that i notice. First is the lack of ability to create multiple profiles (not linked accounts) to allow multiple users to have personalized contents. Not all streaming services are included in proposed shows. There's also weird bug while watching youtube, netflix and disney app where video feed is disappearing from time to time. Video quality is superb and crisp and supports 4k quality videos (tv dependent) and can be used to control soundbar and tv via CIC.
Nonetheless, i still love it and looking for updates to address the issues i noticed. I would still recommend this to anyone looking for streaming device.

WHAT AN UPGRADE!
I was between a 4K APTV or replacing an older CC with the new version. I ended up buying two of them and maybe ready for a third.
The price is unbeatable compared to the APTV and unless you really need to be that connected from an Apple standpoint this does the job done at a fraction of the cost.
Excellent option for cable-less folks and those that do not have Smart televisions. Its hands down one of the best media players I have used and it plays 4K video to boot over wireless. I forgot it also comes with a nifty remote that paired with an old LCD Samsung TV thats 10 years old.
Don't hesitate to pull the trigger on this one.

This compact streamer has exeeded my expectations. I had orginally purchased this to use with my gaming monitor, as a way of accessing media and entertainment without needing to turn on my pc. I was drawn to this device at the time of purchase due to it being on discount at the time and it's low power consumption. It's ability to smoothly stream pc games is a huge plus for me, in addition to all the content it can access. The only cons would be the low amount of storage and it still being on an Andriod TV OS 10 (at the time of this review).

This has become my smart TV OS of choice. I have an LG that works very well but the OS is not great. With this you just need great hardware and let this handle the OS. The remote is great too! Super simple, easy to use not clunky like the TV manufacturers...

various apps don't show up while searching the Google/android tv playstore that are available on the Google/android phone app playstore. unsure why i can have those apps on my phone but not my tv?!? i guess i can just cast them to the tv even tho i do not prefer that method and reason i went to roku.. i came back too chromecast because of the upgraded remote and ui without casting so hopefully they will fix the availability of apps across devices.. however so far so good compared to my old and slow og roku stick and def much better than my old and useless outdated casting og first streamer chromecast.. there's a learning curve with the remote and user interface but both are so smooth during operation.. the remote is slippery in the hand being so small but im going to put a silicone grip around the back of it to fix that.. def a decent purchase.. looking forward to future updates

Remote is very "clean" looking and setup was easy. I've owned Chromecasts before, but being able to use it without a mobile device is great. The search and voice features are excellent.
