THE Best Streaming Option Available

Been using Chromecasts for a long time now as I find them incredibly useful, but other less tech savvy members of the family would stick with the Roku/Fire for ease of use. With this Chromecast, we can finally get rid of the other streaming boxes/sticks. The interface is so useful and clean. Easy to setup and use. The assistant is so useful and time saving, and a game changer for those less savvy. Paid way more for our Roku and after a few hours with this there's no way we could go back.

Best "Smart TV" Option

Of all the "Smart TV" devices we've used, this is definetly our favorite. Apps get pretty frequent updates and have large variety of audio and visual formats available (i.e. 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, etc.). Integration with Google Home is really nice along with compact programable remote. Only downsides are small storage and no built in ethernet connection.

Purchased this for my parents and it was an easy set up.
Great buy for older folks who have trouble navigating technology. They speak Into the remote and voila!
I gave quality a 4/5 because a downside I found to the device is the texture of it. It is very easy to slip out of ones hand. I recommend the 2 year insurance on it just in case. Also if purchasing device for someone out of the US, I recommend looking into a good VPN service so you can enjoy all streaming services.

Used to have the Nvidia Shield so my exceptions were high. This little guy met them. Just be aware if this fits your needs, i have a tv do to all the up scaling and AI tricks, if you need such things, look into what would be right for you.
Primary use is VPN for blackouts. The new menu is terrible, i do miss the android TV set up as this is just to much.. recommended and clutter, but if you can get past that. its fast, smooth and the remote works with all my stuff.

We are long time fire stick users but have google products throughout the house. Loving the ability to have it all under one ecosystem now. Can control the other items through the house with the remote which makes life simple. We also like the interface as it pulls suggestions from all your streaming services onto the homepage. Highly suggest if you are a google home user.

I absolutely love the interface. the remote with the quick google assistant button is very nice for getting to the correct youtube video or show/app i want to get to. My only issue i had was when i tried to play Xbox Cloud Game Pass or Steam Link on it the connection(it was next to my router) wasnt good enough over wifi, but when i plugged in a usb c ethernet adapter the internet speeds got worse? maybe it was an issue on my end but either way still love the product.

Best 4K streamer, better than Roku!

This is an excellent way to stream 4k video on your TV. Tons of apps come loaded on it, and it is very easy to add new ones. The remote makes it much easier to use than my old Chromecast, but I can still cast to it from my phone if I want to. The integrated menus make it so easy to find content across multiple services. This feature alone makes it more useful than my Roku. Integration with Google Assistant is another bonus, so easy to just ask google what I want to watch.

I have a new favorite streaming device!!! I don't think I'll ever go back to a Roku lol. This device is fast, smooth, replaced my TV, Roku and sound bar remote, has access to the Google play store, I can cast anything from my phone or computer to it without issue. Very well put together!

It takes a bit of time to do the initial setup, but after that, it's super easy to use and fast as needed. With little to no input from me, it even figured out the code for my TV and it's just nice to use one remote for when we're streaming movies. It has all the "apps" needed for multiple streaming sites (which my Blu Ray only had a few, and nothing that's come out in the last year or two since it's an older model). Great buy, great investment.

Its just easier in my opinion. The ui is simple, my 5 year old was able to figure out how to manuever within the app within 15-20 min. Can set up profiles for childern to use and restrict there apps. It just works.

I love this device! it is easy to setup, easy to use. It supports all the apps I care to use and is responsive. I had Google TV built into a couple of my TVs and this is a great add on product for my TVs that didn't have that interface. The slim remote controls my TV Power and soundbar volume with ease. Only drawback I have experienced is getting ads for shows on apps I do not subscribe to. I don't care what is on services I don't have.

Revived an aging 1080p "Smart" TV.

Bought this to go with an aging 1080p 'smart' tv from LG that is getting sluggish and not supporting all streaming apps. This thing works infinitely faster than the TV OS did.
Switching between services is quick and easy. It shows so much info on the home page.
Only complaints are I wish it would have a 'continue watching' section on the home page and that it came in black. Granted its behind the TV so I don't see it...guess the white remote is easy to find.

Perfect! I'm so happy i canceled cable and got this! I should have done it sooner. This google chrome already had lots of apps, i added a couple more and have so many watching options. Works with the included remote and the old tv remote, with the exception of voice search, can only do that on the chrome remote. You can switch easily between chrome and live tv. Easy to install. A++

Chromecast has always been one of my favorite tv accessories and now the added tv function has made an amazing interface. It should replace Roku as it's far superior. It definitely takes any older or less expensive tv into this era. I recommend this to anyone who loves Chromecast and wants an upgrade and wants to finally ditch there Roku. The remote is also easy to use and the voice assistant makes it a steal.

This has a better interface than Amazon Fire TV and Roku. It's also better looking (and faster) than the built-in streaming apps on Most TVs (LG, Samsung, Vizio). Most importantly, it aggregates content from just about every streaming service you subscribe to, so you don't have to go from app to app trying to remember which streaming platform a particular show/movie is on. Just search for the title with the voice remote and it will give you all your options for viewing.

The new Chromecast with Google tv is a huge step up from the old Chromecast. The new user interface, and remote mean you don't need your phone to use it, it's self contained.
One thing I'd like to see in the future is a light up remote, even though the remote is simple and not festooned with buttons I'm just used to remotes that light up when moved or when the couch pillow is tapped. Other than that, I think the new Chromecast is great and I've bought 2 of them.

This solved my problem of not having a new enough smart TV to support Apple TV+. I just plugged it in and whammo! Ted Lasso! This is a major improvement over the previous Chromecast devices, as it elevates the Chromecast to true streaming device level, by including a remote and a proper multi-provider streaming platform UX. WELL worth the $50. The Ux is VERY fast and slick, but confusing to navigate. Also, setup took forever. There were about 25 steps! This should be much easier.
Drawbacks: once in a while, the Chromecast's connection to my wi-fi seems to degrade and it will pixelate for a few minutes. I have confirmed this is the Chromecast, as it does not occur with other wireless streaming devices I own (Roku). Also, when the device loads a new episode or show to stream, there is some sort of audio issue, resulting in a loud static pop from the speakers. This occurs sometimes, not all the time, and it definitely harms the speakers. Also, definitely a Chromecast issue, as this does not occur with any other streaming device.
Occasionally, I will get an error from the Amazon Prime app telling me there is something wrong with the HDMI connection, but this is not the case - it seems to be firing in error, and it only happens with the Amazon app, and only on the Chromecast. Must have something to do with the Chromecast's HDMI connection to my TV, but I cannot imagine what. This is an odd, isolated issue which again, only happens with Amazon. Weird. Overall, a 3.5-Star device (rounded up top 4 stars). Not bad for a first attempt from Google, but the UX definitely needs improvement, as does the setup process and that annoying audio issue.

Great Great- Except Remote Eats Batteries

Love almost everything about it. Great interface, nice remote, quick navigation, wonderful Google Assistant. I have three of these. The one reviewed here is the latest. and the ONLY downside is: the remote eats batteries quickly. They last 3-4 weeks on one of them. One of the remotes has lasted 2 months so far, so I'm not sure if I am lucky or unlucky. This one (a month old) is till going. In any event, I make sure to have plenty of AAA batteries around. Otherwise, I like this better than Firestick, Roku, etc, and I have had them all. If not for the battery issue, this is 5 star PLUS.

This version of Chromecast with Google Tv definitely has a more refined and user friendly interface, giving you quick access to the most used streaming services. The Google assistant is a nice and very intuitive feature that adds well with Google home. The best part to me is the new remote. It's a big upgrade and allows easy control, fits well I'm hand, and has the right controls esp when integrated with the TV.
