I was using Chromecast 2.0 for some years and wanted a streaming device for my new projector and came across this. Since it was new at the time, I wasn't sure if it'll be smooth as other streaming devices or not. But it works great. Interface is so well designed and smooth. All popular apps available. Casting is fast. Great performance overall.

This has a better interface than Amazon Fire TV and Roku. It's also better looking (and faster) than the built-in streaming apps on Most TVs (LG, Samsung, Vizio). Most importantly, it aggregates content from just about every streaming service you subscribe to, so you don't have to go from app to app trying to remember which streaming platform a particular show/movie is on. Just search for the title with the voice remote and it will give you all your options for viewing.

The new Chromecast with Google tv is a huge step up from the old Chromecast. The new user interface, and remote mean you don't need your phone to use it, it's self contained. One thing I'd like to see in the future is a light up remote, even though the remote is simple and not festooned with buttons I'm just used to remotes that light up when moved or when the couch pillow is tapped. Other than that, I think the new Chromecast is great and I've bought 2 of them.

This version of Chromecast with Google Tv definitely has a more refined and user friendly interface, giving you quick access to the most used streaming services. The Google assistant is a nice and very intuitive feature that adds well with Google home. The best part to me is the new remote. It's a big upgrade and allows easy control, fits well I'm hand, and has the right controls esp when integrated with the TV.

Very easy to hook up to my wireless internet provider. I "cut the cord" and was able to save a ton of money and had a super clear TV picture using this device.

Finally, the Chromecast is a streamer! Clunky UX..

This solved my problem of not having a new enough smart TV to support Apple TV+. I just plugged it in and whammo! Ted Lasso! This is a major improvement over the previous Chromecast devices, as it elevates the Chromecast to true streaming device level, by including a remote and a proper multi-provider streaming platform UX. WELL worth the $50. The Ux is VERY fast and slick, but confusing to navigate. Also, setup took forever. There were about 25 steps! This should be much easier. Drawbacks: once in a while, the Chromecast's connection to my wi-fi seems to degrade and it will pixelate for a few minutes. I have confirmed this is the Chromecast, as it does not occur with other wireless streaming devices I own (Roku). Also, when the device loads a new episode or show to stream, there is some sort of audio issue, resulting in a loud static pop from the speakers. This occurs sometimes, not all the time, and it definitely harms the speakers. Also, definitely a Chromecast issue, as this does not occur with any other streaming device. Occasionally, I will get an error from the Amazon Prime app telling me there is something wrong with the HDMI connection, but this is not the case - it seems to be firing in error, and it only happens with the Amazon app, and only on the Chromecast. Must have something to do with the Chromecast's HDMI connection to my TV, but I cannot imagine what. This is an odd, isolated issue which again, only happens with Amazon. Weird. Overall, a 3.5-Star device (rounded up top 4 stars). Not bad for a first attempt from Google, but the UX definitely needs improvement, as does the setup process and that annoying audio issue.

Really good streaming device. It's not the fastest option available, it takes a while to open some apps sometimes, but for this price it's an incredible option. Its beautiful interface shows you recommended movies and shows from all your streaming services (it has all the ones I use) and super easy to navigate around. The remote controller is also good quality and easy to use.

Chromecast with Google TV is awesome. The device is small and should fit behind most tvs even if you have it mounted to the wall. The remote feels good in your hands and I like the fact that it programs the power button and volume button of your TV so you can eliminate a remote if all your using is this device. I've used Rokus, FireSticks and Nvidia Shields so I confidently recommend this device over the others specifically if you have a YoutubeTV subscription. It makes watching TV more seamless. Otherwise these devices are pretty similar in what they offer. The only notable differences IMO are price points and performance. So again, if you subscribe to YoutubeTV service then this device is the best choice for you.

Love almost everything about it. Great interface, nice remote, quick navigation, wonderful Google Assistant. I have three of these. The one reviewed here is the latest. and the ONLY downside is: the remote eats batteries quickly. They last 3-4 weeks on one of them. One of the remotes has lasted 2 months so far, so I'm not sure if I am lucky or unlucky. This one (a month old) is till going. In any event, I make sure to have plenty of AAA batteries around. Otherwise, I like this better than Firestick, Roku, etc, and I have had them all. If not for the battery issue, this is 5 star PLUS.

I purchased this because I found the price of purchasing a new Apple TV 4K a bit too much to swallow. I have many other Google/Nest products around my house and they’re all reliable. This no different. The picture is great and the UI is simple enough for my mom which is a huge relief for her IT guy (me). Also, the casting ability from nearly every streaming service is far superior to what Apple gives you, in my humble opinion.

Perfect for modern 4K TV’s. Colors seem more vivid than my PC. I connected it through my Xbox’s pass through port. Goggle Smart Home devices work seamlessly with this product. The remote is awesome. It even controls my old fashioned Sony surround sound receiver. I’ve been looking for a remote for that thing for years. This is the first remote to actually control my receiver. It doesn’t power it off or on but at least I can finally control the volume.

Simple to use, very simple to connect to your TV and activate. it even controls volume and power, potentially replacing any other remote. We used this for my mother in law who wanted simplicity, and we found it. She loves her TV and watches different apps, but she has simpler options like live TV which takes her directly to the YouTubeTV app with one click

This is inexpensive, easy to install, easy to use (and cast to TV), and I love the feel of the remote control. It's very solid and automatically paired with my TV and soundbar. I also have a Roku but it's remote couldn't pair with my soundbar which is an inconvenient bummer... so the Chromecast is better in that respect. I'm digging my Chromecast.

I've had this Chromecast for about a year and a half at this point and it's been great! It was so great I got another one for my parents because they love as equally as I do. I do have one complaint though, the pad to control the Chromecast has this weird click sound now and it sounds like it gets stuck sometimes. Other than that, it's a fast, smart device!

I have owned the Amazon FireTV and have enjoyed it over the years. In the past I have not liked the Chromecast but the new version of the Chrome Google tv has been excellent. The remote is much better and the interface is easy to use. I would recommend this product to anyone. FireTV is still good but if this is a sign of the future with Google, I will be using them more exclusively.

I've been using the original chromecast for years plus I have two chromecast audios and all have worked flawlessly. I purchased the new Chromecast with Google TV to have a remote to make using it easier to use. The installation was easy and using it is great. It's fast, video quality is very good. Unfortunately I don't have a 4k TV so I can't comment on that but on my 1080 P TV it's very good. It's a terrific value and highly recommended.
