Great upgrade from the old Chromecast

I recently upgraded to a 4K tv, and was still comfortable with the good ol Chromecast casting where I just cast videos onto the TV. I went ahead and make the upgrade to this new 4K Chromecast, and have been so satisfied so far. The controller works perfectly and the interface isn't clunky. Everything works well, and all my favorite streaming channels are on it too.

Our bedroom tv wasn’t a smart tv at all. The only way to watch anything was to buy something to hook into it. The original chromecast was rough to use with just your phone. But now that we bought this one it’s so much easier to use. Just like our Android tv downstairs! Having the remote is better than just using your phone.

Never thought I would give up or change out my Roku, but this made me do so. Its sleek, modern, 4K & Dolby vision ready. But the main thing i love about it, is the incorporation of Google TV! It makes finding shows and keeping up SOOO easy the way it cross references all your streaming subscriptions on 1 screen is genius and convenient. And for $50 its an absolute steal for what it entails.

Probably the best devise Google has made. Runs very smooth and will operate just about any TV it is connected too. I wish all of their products would work this easy and the flawless. I have actually purchased 2 of these devices and I almost prefer to use them over my TV apps that can be slow at time. Worth the money for sure.

Actually love this feels like a mini telephone on the go at home. Can look up everything you already like to look up on your phone. And we love keeping it our living room. Simple enough for my 4 year old to use, I think the overall look is what i enjoy. Its an upgrade from the old plug ins. just plug in this one but also a remote which i most deff enjoy.

Works better than Roku and the 1st generation Chromecast. I bought so that I could properly use all of the features in the Peleton app (many aren't available in the Roku version of the app). Love the remote and the apps.
Only downside is setting up was a pain (I have too many Google accounts in the household).

This does everything I need it to.
Setup was very easy. It has access to just about every streaming service. The menus are clean, easy to understand, and navigate. There is 4K output, and it has a remote. Just what I was looking for. No complaints.

Great alternative to the Firestick!

From someone who has a roku, Fire Cube, Firestick, and mi box in one household, I can definitely say that I have really enjoyed the new Chromecast over the last couple months. I literally ordered it the same day it was announced because I was trying to find a replacement for my Firestick (due to its constant recurring issues with Youtube's audio and video being out of sync for me).
Although I felt the ui mimicked Amazon's before making my purchase, I was able to see the differences between the two and found the chromecast to be more intuitive, especially with the idea of putting all your streaming services together to make it easier to find something new to watch.
I will say, the only thing that I didn't like, which is expected at this price point, is not really being able to use a third party ethernet adapter. Google is selling their own version, of course, but it would be nice to be able to buy a cheaper version that could still get the job done. Despite that, I haven't had any concerns with buffering as I usually did with my mi box, which runs Android TV.
Overall, I have really been enjoying this little streamer and it's a huge step in the right direction for Google. It also helps that I have been able to use my Google nest to control the tv too when I misplace the remote. Once they give the Stadia update, this Chromecast will truly be solid!

works well great as a chromecast. remote control is limited and limits some of the functions. similar device from tmobile ha better remote but overall easy to set up and easy to use. I have several streaming devices all have their good and bad features with this device ability to cast easily makes it a useful device. It's helpful to know what you may want to stream before deciding on any one device

It works great! You can't watch your apps right off of the Chromecast or you can from your phone like you would with a older Chromecast I will get a lot. It works perfectly for everything. And the Google TV app that it comes with is also pretty cool. It actually has a couple Of live TV channels

User interface is nice, but I don't understand how they could release this and not support multiple user profiles. Especially considering that my older Sony television with Android TV does support it. They need to fix this soon. Google devices typically impress me, but they really dropped the ball here.
Other than that, it is well made and setup is easy if you already a Google Home user. Performance is pretty good.

A definite five out of five. We love the fact that we only need one remote to access all of our apps, as well as to control the volume. It's great to have one search hub for all movies and shows, instead of having to search within each individual platform, or on the internet.
We love this product so much that we ended up purchasing some as Christmas gifts for our family.

This is a great device if you like Google stuff and a Chromecast that you have a remote. Be advised not to put too many apps on it says there’s only 4 GB of storage so try to Chromecast most of your stuff and then you can use the remote. So lemon yourself or actual apps that are added to the device because the memory will get filled quickly.

This provides a very useful update to my older TV. It requires an HDMI input to the TV and a separate ac power outlet. It's easy to set up, and the remote, which can be voice activated, is convenient to use. I chose this streaming device over competing devices because it includes HBO max, but it does lack some other services, so check your individual preferences.

My household has been a Roku house since we cancelled our Dish several years ago, but when Roku was having their dispute for HBO Max, we bought this Chromecast for one of the TVs in the house so we could watch HBO Max content. Being used to the Roku, I will say the Chromecast is different to use, though not in any good or bad way. It's just different. While the user experience is good, it's not going to make me replace the other Rokus in my house with a Chromecast.
I do like the simple remote. I also like that the TV can be turned on/off and volume controlled with the Chromecast remote. That's something Roku lacks.
I like the different layout of the apps on-screen and I like that shows we frequently watch show on the home screen with the current episode ready to be watched. I don't like that the YouTube app on Chromecast doesn't allow multiple users to be signed in so that profiles can be easily switched. If another user wants to login, the current user has to logout, making for a more inconvenient process. It's not a big deal since not much YouTube is watched in the room that the Chromecast is in.
Overall, it's a good streaming device, but it won't turn the rest of the house away from the Roku.

Huge upgrade to just about any TV that is not running Android or Google TV. If your TV is a few years old and the picture/display is still good, then I would highly recommend this product, once you try it, I am sure you will agree. Simple to connect, very responsive and a great value for the money. I found that it is more responsive than a FireTV Stick, and if you have an Android phone, casting to the TV is super easy. The only thing that I wish, is that the voiume control on the remote was bigger or positioned a little better, but that is a minor complaint and I still give it 5 stars. Enjoy.. -aj

I wasn't sure which Google Chrome to pick at first and decided to try the 4K. The picture quality is great, and the remote is a plus. I am pleased with my choice.
