Its main selling feature is the unification of streaming services, placing the "Continue watching" section on the home page, allowing you to jump straight into whatever show you want without having to first think of which streaming platform it's on currently. Sounds great, right? Well, in practice this feature is so poorly implemented that it's actually more of a hassle than it is a convenience, and I've since switched back to Roku. Please see attached photo for a visual. Shows and entire streaming services randomly don't appear in this section. Some shows display a title card, while others pull a random still image from the previous episode. Some shows display text information, such as the title of the show and episode, while others display data like "Netflix - S5 Ep16" or "Hulu - S1 Ep5 - Jersey Devil" (the name of the episode, but not the show). Most of these might sound like minor annoyances, but in the attached example if I were to select Seinfeld or the show to the right of it (Curb Your Enthusiasm), one of two things would happen: either the episode will restart from the beginning, or it'll resume on the credits. Neither of these make sense in a finished product from one of the largest companies in the world, operating in one of the most lucrative industries (streaming). Google would, presumably, place the blame here on the streaming providers, but regardless this product/feature was not ready for release, and as of July 2022 I still wouldn't recommend it.

There are more than 10,000 supported apps that you can use on Google TV. You can visit tv.google to view which apps are available, and learn how to install them here: https://support.google.com/googletv/answer/10050570
It may also be helpful to try clearing the app cache as having a sizable amount of cache stored would affect its performance. Here’s how:
- From the Google TV home screen, in the top right, go to the user profile icon and select Settings.
- Select Apps and choose the app you're having trouble with.
- If you can't find it, select See all apps.
- Select Clear cache and then Ok.
- If clearing the app cache didn't work, you can try to reset your Chromecast with Google TV by following the steps here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6254654
