My premium flashlight is a Surefire 6PX Pro but I wanted something else for everyday use when walking my dog at night. The Surefire is a great flashlight but, for everyday use, I wanted a quality light that uses AA/AAA batteries to save on costs. I always keep a good supply of these batteries in the house. Well, this Coast is well constructed of aluminum, uses 4 AAA batteries and throws a clean beam with adjustable power (low, med. & high) & coverage (spot/flood). I've been using it on med. setting and, according to the specs., should get about 7 hours usage at that setting. My Surefire can't stand on end to light a room in a power outage, but this Coast can. It's also a smaller size (though slightly larger than I expected) and fits in a jacket or sweatshirt pocket nicely. I purchased it on sale, but it serves my need so perfectly and is so well made (lifetime warranty) that I can now say it would have been worth full price. Extremely pleased!

Very bright and robust. It makes an excellent work light that expect will last a long time. Doesn’t seem to have a means of attaching a carry strap but other than my personal preference to have that, it seems a perfect light for me.

I know there are hundreds of flashlight options and preferences will vary so I will cover just a few things you should know about the G55. It's hefty in the hand for an aluminium flashlight and uses 4 triple A's so buy a 4 pack of rechargeables. You are required to cycle through the high/medium/low settings each time you turn the flashlight on with a hard press. So turning it on and off once leaves it set up to turn on medium the next time and so forth. Tough light, good for home defence/maintenance but wouldn't pack it for hiking. Solid product I would buy again and recommend.

I am a home inspector and I go into some very dark places! Sometimes against my better judgment. Anyway let me tell you, this flashlight can light up the darkest of attics. Battery life is good. I’ve been using insignia triple A’s and they seem to last quite a while. What’s the battery start to diminish just change them and you’ll be right back to full power.

Small and easy to handle, carry and store. This flashlight is very bright and has a focus feature that lets you decide how and where you want the light to shine. On/off button is in the end of the light so easy to hold.

Very bright flashlight. Probably will the one you will ever need. I can light up my whole backyard. The flood lite setting works really good . Light weight considering how bright this flashlight is. You will be pleased with it.

if you have the opportunity to get this flashlight on sale for $15 I'd recommend it perfect size for your cars glove box or bedside table. Puts out a really great light (600 lumens)
