These have very good range and the kids love them. So fun for the family too.

Purchased as a gift for my great grandson. He uses the Cobra 2-way radios while playing with his friends. He really enjoys them.

Within the 1 to 2 miles tops, these work perfect. I cant help to tell you the max range, however every feature available on other brands i have found to be on this model.

Me and my Grandchildren like to walk in the woods behind our house. My husband can always get in touch and make sure we are doing ok with these radio's. Lots of fun for the kids.

Can't really hit a mile on a variety of channels in a lightly populated area without tall buildings. Seems pretty solid up to 0.5 mile (yes, that's less than a mile). Also, be careful to find a channel/security setting that's best. Had some confusing situations when testing in different areas especially on the default settings. I would recommend these if you only need to communicate an extremely short distance based on my family experience.

They work well for short distance communication. I like them.

Let me start off by saying the advertised distance on the packaging is not indicative of how far these will go in a normal, everyday, most likely, all the time situation. Everything is based on environment. Flat land and no obstacles like trees and buildings they will go that far. I have gotten about 4 miles when going down the highway with another person when driving down to the beach. I love the fact that these have built in NOAA weather channel frequencies and that they do have the more powerful GMRS frequencies. Not a lot of personal 2-way radios have this and when you are in a crowded environment, such as the beach and everybody has FRS frequencies, this opens up the channels for me a lot more, plus the privacy sub-channels help too. You can customize the ringer and volume individually. These radios also have a paging alert as well. Still use them 4 years later. Batteries have started to lose their charge time, but with the included USB charging cable, I don't have to have the charging cradle and can charge them in my truck with a USB cigarette lighter plug.

This unit seems to be a little on the "overkill" side, but that's because I really don't have need for the advanced features... It certainly works as expected for a simple pair of walkie-talkies and presumably those extra features work just as well. It would have been nice to know that it comes with a two-headed USB cable - I went out and bought a double AC-USB plug to save a slot on my power strip, then learned I didn't need to. So the special cable is a very nice feature that should be highlighted!

My kids bought it to play around the house like... I wouldn’t say there is a connecting at 23 miles but it can go pretty far and your still have a clear communication.

I live in Orlando and went about 3 miles apart and they worked perfectly. Its very popular and very impress.

They definitely did work and it was a great thing to have for communication in areas where cell service is bad. The batteries lasted a long time and there is also a wall charger so that helps keep them charged for longer periods. They also work with other walkies that are not the same brand as cobra such a Motorola.

Tested them from inside home to out in back yard. Worked great! Bought them to use while camping and hiking. Haven't tried it there yet.
