They aren't quite old enough for a cell phone, so this is perfect! These are also great for camping as well, road trips where one vehicle is following another, bike riding, hiding throughout the house/yard, etc. Charging time takes a while...16 hrs. I see reviews where people are complaining about the range of these...it clearly states on back of the package that the 16 mile range is for a RURAL area. In an urban area it's more like 1-8 miles. These were a gift from grandma for one of their birthdays. Well worth it for the 3 pack.
