It may be an issue only with my units, or perhaps another explanation for greater signal-interference specific to my house/yard, but I ended up returning.

Range will vary depending on obstructions (to include being inside a house / vehicle), terrain, interference from other users, atmospheric noise, battery level and power output of the radio. Great way to communicate in the mountains

They work as expected and handy when cellphone reception is spotty at best. Probably will use these on upcoming hiking trips as a precaution in case we get separated.

Posted .We're sorry you are not completely satisfied. The battery life seems to suffice as it is designed to be long lasting. If there’s no transmission for 10 seconds, your radio will automatically switch to Battery Save mode. Please do not mix old and new batteries.
