Not a good prodict. The sound went out. I have never had problems with a cobra product. This was not a good one. I returned it and got my money back.

    Compared to the Cobra RAD480i

We have both the RAD380 and the RAD480i. They both use the same Next Gen IVT Filters but running them both in the same (area) route the 480i false alarms KA constantly with the K doing the same as were the 380 never has a false KA alerts and very very few false K alerts. We are also teaching the grandkids to drive and go from Columbus, Ohio to Mineral Wells West Virginia on Sunday mornings and have quit using the 480i because it never stops alarming but I like the voice alerts, the way the menu works and the way the unit looks. The 380 picks up OSP KA band coming the opposite way and has given us more than enough warning many times on those trips to West Virginia. The 380 is not as cool looking as the 480i but the 380 works well with my 2021 KIA with all KIAS high tech warning sensors, radar tech. If you can get by with out the app and what it does on the 480i I would just advise getting the RAD380. I tried to give you my true opinion, experience with both of these.

RAD 380 is not designed to work with your phone. You can use our iRadar or Drive Smarter apps separately but they will not connect to RAD 380. RAD 480i is the next model up and will connect to the apps. cedarelectronics-cobra

    Dependable brand

I've used this brand of radar detectors for at least 30 years. Despite the low cost, they are very dependable. I'm on the road a lot so I know. My last one lasted about 15 years and still works. I like the newer design, it's sporty. One drawback is the windshield mount piece doesn’t insert into the device very well. It's not a deal breaker, but a tad inconvenient. Otherwise, I'm pleased.
