I've been a fan of the Mana series ever since Secret of Mana on the SNES and I was very excited to hear about this compilation. Represented are the first three games in the series, which are the best ones in my opinion. Final Fantasy Adventure, a Gameboy game, is a little rough to play today, but it has its charm. Secret of Mana ups the ante and has an even bigger world, fun weapons/spells, wonderful music, and co-op play. Trails of Mana was never localized prior to now, but I'm glad it was because the branching stories with the six playable characters and class upgrade system make for great replay value. There are also some extras included, such as a way to listen to the soundtracks of each game in the menu, and that's nice, but I would have liked more, such as more artwork. My only real complaint is that while you can have 3 players for Secret of Mana, you can only have 2 with Trials of Mana (despite having 3 characters on-screen). That and some known bugs in Trials of Mana were not fixed. Still, this is a must own for action RPG fans!

Secret of Mana is an older game but do not let that stop you from playing. It has beautiful pixel art. A wonderful soundtrack. The gameplay is solid though can be frustrating at times. Gotta keep it real. The sprite and girl can learn magic. The girl learns healing and attack magic. The sprite learns attack and defense magic. You can level all weapons and magic to 8. You can level grind to make things easier. Be careful with treasure chests. Some give you healing items while others can poison you. Some have a punching mechanism inside. The game has plenty of humor and you can tell it was a labor of love. Final Fantasy Adventure I need to play more to get a better feel for the gameplay. It is a black and white pixel style. It seems like the main character does not start out with a shield because he is fighting in a gladiator arena. Correct me if I am wrong. The game starts with you in the arena. You have to fight for your freedom. Trails of Mana has beautiful pixel art. It can be a little confusing but worth it. I also have the remake. Still learning about which teams are the best combinations. In my play through on this I have Duran Angela and Kevin. I know that Charlotte is recommended as the third party member for beginners though a healer seems a little redundant. With Duran and Kevin you get plenty of strength and Duran can heal. Angela has awesome magic skills that can help win battles. Overall you get three games for the price of one. It is a good deal.

This package contains the first three title of the Seiken Densetsu series. The first game - Final Fantasy Adventure titled in America is a spin off of the Final Fantasy Series. The second game - Secret of Mana is a classic and plays well on the Switch, While the third game - Trials of Mana have never been released in the west and is a gem of the game. Get all this in one package, it is well worth the price and wait.

This collection was pretty incredible when it was announced. And only recently was the "Trials of Mana" game included in this pack remade as it's own modern game. The games in this collection play well and the Trials of Mana included was the first time it was officially released outside of Japan in English. Great collection I highly recommend.

A Nice Collection of Mana Games for the Switch

The collection of Mana is (as implied by its very title) a compilation title containing the first three games in the "Mana" (or Seiken Densetsu aka Legend of the Holy Sword) series, with the third entry, Trials of Mana, being released in the West for the first time having been previously exclusive to Japan (and emulation users). The Mana series, like Final Fantasy, is generally unconnected between the entries with the only consistencies being the series themes of a Mana Sword, a Mana Tree, a Mana Goddess, and an everlasting fight against the forces who wish use the power of Mana for their own diabolical means. What makes this series unique besides its themes are its gameplay stylings which, back in the early 90's, were flag bearers in the Action-RPG genre. All actions happen in real-time, but time can be paused via the menus (which utilized a ring/clock-esque user interface) in order to assign items to use, weapons to equip, and magic to utilize.

Got this for 50% off on Black Friday and this is an excellent collection. The package arrived on time and no defects or anything. If you love old school RPGs, this will bring it all back for you. At the same time, having Trials released for the first time in the States is dope. It is also a good game too.

This is a great collection that includes the classic Secret of Mana and it's lesser known predecessor and sequel. Definitely a throwback to simpler times, these games will definitely flood you with nostalgia if you grew up during the golden years of 4th generation consoles (Snes, Genesis, etc.)

This collection includes Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, and Trials of Mana. The controls on the Switch for these games can be a little counter-intuitive at first, but the collection has a very handy in-game button reference which really helps while muscle memory is being established.

When Secret of Mana came out in the 90s for SNES, I paid $70 for it at my local electronics store. This collection is a bargain, especially considering each title requires substantial play time to complete. All are very good games. If you are a fan of adventure or rpgs, especially with an old school vibe, do not pass this up. I only wish it came with printed manuals.

At full price it sat on my wish list but at the recent discount this is a great buy. I had played both the first two and of course “secret” is one of the best in this genre. Happy to also get to try the third as well even with the remake coming.

Need I say more? You can play it handheld. Classic RPG from SNES. One of my favorite games of all time. Added bonus two other games. One was only available through emulators for years. Win win win.

Having all three of these games together for under $20 is a good value if you enjoyed Secret of Mana on the SNES. Not sure it would entice younger players who are used to more recent games, but is charming nonetheless.

Pretty simple and straight forward. If you enjoyed the Mana series during the NES and SNES days you'll love revisiting this. If you're new to the series but enjoy some classic JRPG gameplay, and a great story, you can't go wrong!

I got this on sale so it was definitely worth the price. You get the collection of classic Mana games, and they still hold up well today. Very nice to have a physical copy of them, and they play well on the portable switch format.

Since I own the first 'Mana' have in Game Boy, 'Secret of Mana' on Super Nintendo, and the 3rd 'Mana' game on Super Famicom (it wasn't released in the US back in the day), it's great to have these available to me in portable form!

If you always wanted to play the original Handheld games, this is a must. Sure you can emulate it, but in Adventure you have an option to make it look like you are playing on a real live Gameboy. like in looks not style. It recreates exactly the way the Gameboy screen displayed the game. Beyond that you get a near perfect port of Secret of Mana from the NES and the long await (translated and brought stateside), Trails of Mana. Once again you could possibly get a translated emulation, but this remake fixed all the issues anyone coming into these old school games for the first time may not want to deal with. All three worth playing if you were every into the RPG series from Squaresoft, [now SquareEnix].

Hey this is one of a few Black Friday purchases that I made, so be mindful I haven't completed the game yet. There are actually three games on the cartridge. In an act of transparency, I need to specify that I have never completed a Mana game before, and part of my interest in this collection is that it is the first time that the game has ever been official released in the West with an English translation. So I figured it has a nice bit of collector value. Regardless, the first game used to be a gameboy game. It has some historic value and plays fine, but it doesn't look to great compared to the other two. I think they could have used the Sword of Mana version, but it is what it is. I'm trying to finish the middle game, Secret of Mana now. Then, I want to beat the third game, Trials of Mana. I think it is a good collector's item, and is a good value for folks, like me, who haven't played the games before. You get a GB game and two full length SNES games for the price. I hope you like it!

This collection includes the Final Fantasy Adventure (Seiken Densetsu 1), Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3), and Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3) all on the physical game card. If anything, this collection is worth it solely for the English version of Trial of Mana. Being a Game Boy game, Final Fantasy Adventure is too low res to be played on a TV comfortably, but is fine on handheld mode. However, Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana both are great on TV or handheld mode and show off all their 16-bit art glory. Even if you are planning to purchase the 3D remake of Trials of Mana, this original SNES/SFC version still holds up today. This collection is not only great way to preserve gaming history, but is actually fun to play.
