I grew up with the Mana series, of course I played them on my computer using translation patches back in the day. It's nice to see the whole collection here and translated.
The games run, as far as I can tell, flawlessly. But, be aware, that they are old games. The combat mechanics in each one of the games is clunky- and the bugs and glitches that existed in each are still there. They're still a lot of fun and worth checking out if you like that SNES era RPG vibe.

The games themselves are easily reviewed elsewhere, and Secret of Mana is over 20 years old and still remembered for a reason. The two biggest drawbacks to this collection are the box cartridge art (there is none) and no manual included. The games have instructions on how to play them, but particularly with Final Fantasy Adventure, most of the story information was in the manual. The cartridge has text with no image, making it a really lazy overall look. Square/Enix couldn't put an image of the Mana Tree on the cart? Or the Mana Sword? Something?
Another minor flaw with all three games is the boarder, which is distracting and there's no option to turn it off. Still worth considering but it might not be worth buying the physical release and just waiting for a digital sale of the game.

If you're a fan of old-school JRPGs, especially the Mana series, you can't wrong here. These games came from what many would consider the golden age of the genre and possess a charm and quality that is seen less and less in modern gaming. At $20 on sale, I bought this game for a steal and would highly recommend those interested do the same!

From someone that bought Secret of Mana on day one back when it was released and enjoyed Final Fantasy Adventure this is both an awesome trip through memory lane (if you have never experienced Secret of Mana it's worth the price of admission alone) and a wonderful opportunity to play the third game in the series which has not previously seen an official English release.
The games are old school but if you enjoy an easily accessible yet deep RPG experience you will love these games!

You're either going to buy this for the nostalgia, or you're not. I mean, it's not revolutionary gameplay for today, but it's a massive kick in the nostalgia glands for those of us who played it back in the day. This game, with it's spinning selection discs, kept us riveted.
If I was you, I'd buy it. Right now. I mean, I did, which is why I am writing this review, but you should too. Are you still reading?

This collection contains the first three games in the Mana series as they were originally released. It also lets you play different region's versions of the games, such as playing the European version of Final Fantasy Adventure. However, it should be noted these really are the original versions of the games, and as such come with any bugs or annoyances that came with the original releases. In my case, I managed to trap myself in Final Fantasy Adventure between two locked doors with no means of escape. This was not fixed in this release of the game, and means that any other similar bugs in the other games would be present as well (if any).

The Secret of Mana is one of my all time favorite RPG's from the 90s era, created by Square Soft. I never had the pleasure of playing the second game included, but the for Secret of Mana alone makes it worth the price and you get the bonus game the Original Trials of Mana. I'm looking forward to the New Trails of Mana released at the end of April! Hopefully Square Enix will remake Secret of Mana as well. One can only hope.

Its great to play secret of mana on a handheld. I have it on snes and was almost finished when this came out snd i decided id rather complete it here and then pick up the sequel right after. I was a little disappointed though when i saw it was the original sequel and not the newer remade one (it is sold seperately for the same price as this collection). I should have checked first and i probably would have just bought the updated sequel to play through since i already owned the original first one.
Still, Secret of Mana is one of the best co-op games from the snes era and has a decent storyline as a bonus. Ive been playing it with my 4 yr old and she loves it so far.

I fondly recall the mana series so I was excited to pick this up. I found the port to be good, but before long I started to miss all of the quality of life improvements that have been added to newer games in this and similar series. Still it was nice to revisit these games and here the music again.
When my son tried to play it, he wasn't interested in any of the titles for more than a few minutes. There are a lot of great games for the switch and the NSO membership gives you access to lots of nostalgia.
Unless you really loved one of these specific Mana titles when you were younger, you might want to pass.

The SNES is the greatest console of all time and Squaresoft made the best RPGs of the era (or any era really).
Plus one of the games available in the collection is, for the first time, localized in English. A must own for any fan of classic style RPGs or if you just want to go retro.
Oh and there is a game boy game too. If you love it, awesome.

If you're a fan of classic SNES RPG's you'll love this. Comes with the critically acclaimed Secret of Mana and the sequel that recently got localized for America for the first time ever. Also comes with Final Fantasy Adventures, the first one in the franchise. Let's be honest though, everyone got this for Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3 being localized. Awesome collection to get for the Switch.
