Eddie Murphy classic. Funny, and just like I remember. Good digital copy

The Jewish Man. Clarence the Barber. Randy Watson. All three of these characters manage to outshine the main character played by Eddie Murphy. The ironic thing is that all of these characters are played by Eddie Murphy. Murphy and Arsenio Hall both manage to trump their primary characters with the supporting characters they each play (in Hall's case, the other characters are Morris the Barber, Reverend Brown and the scariest woman I've ever seen in a bar). 70s father figures John Amos and James Earl Jones play strong if overbearing fathers to great effect once again. In addition, newcomers Samuel L. Jackson, Eriq La Salle, Garcelle Beauvais, Victoria Dillard and Cuba Gooding, Jr. all made very early appearances. And the wonderful Madge Sinclair stars as the voice of reason who says everything in just one look at her husband. A classic showing Eddie Murphy at the top of his powers.

Paramount remastered this movie for 4K and it looks amazing. It's like a copy of an original, mint condition film reel. Film grain intact and all. The audio is excellent as well. Felt like I was watching this in theaters for the first time, only in my living room. I love it. If you're a fan of this movie, or just a fan of Arsenio Hall and Eddie Murphy, pick this up for your collection. And if you've got a 4K TV and a nice surround sound system, prepare for a nice filmic experience. I hope Paramount Pictures continues releasing catalogue movies with this level of care and quality. Highly, highly recommended.

Classic movie! Glad to finally have on Blu-ray....

Eddie Murphy's Coming to America has recently undergone a 4K restoration and it's a stunner! Whether or not you have seen this movie you are in for a treat. Newbies will be initiated to one of Eddie's best comedies and fans would have never seen it look or heard it sound this good. Talented supporting cast and 80's music add to this comedic gem. Must have addition to your 4K collection. As a little bonus for collectors, first pressing comes with an attractive slipcover.

The movie is great.  The 4K transfer sucks. It’s not the age of the movie. I bought Cool Hand Luke & it looks great for the age of the movie.

Coming to America is an absolute classic comedy, and this 4k disc does not disappoint. Excellent clarity in the visuals and the numerous colors ranging from the holiday season in the theme to the 80's locales heavily benefit from the wider color gamut. Definitely a good buy for fans of the film. Buy it and enjoy the viewing before the sequel arrives in March 2021.

Great movie, excellent transfer. My only complaint is that it was not done in Dolby Atmos. DTSX sounds good But I think that opening song number needed that extra punch. Much better than the sequel. Totally forgot about the cameos from two characters from Trading Places. If you never saw Trading Places, unfortunately, the joke is lost on you.

This is another classic movie from the 90s, Eddie Murphy at his best!

"Coming to America" is a classic. Plain and simple. It looks great in its 4K restoration and it is a must have for fans of the film. The only downside to this movie, is that it makes the sequel look bad in comparison. But alas, that is the price you pay for trying to recapture the magic of a special film like this.

What can you say about a classic.This movie brought back so many childhood memories.Watching this movie in 4k makes me feel and see all the colors of Zamunda like your there. This to me was one of Eddie Murphy's funniest and best films.It has some adult language but is still very funny for older teens and tweens.

I haven’t seen this movie since the late ‘80s and had forgotten how much heart this movie has. Any early Eddie Murphy stuff is great; he’s such a talent who hasn’t been challenged in years. Sadly, he should have won an Oscar for The Nutty Professor, but the Academy overlooks most comedic performances for Best Actor.
