In a full transparency, I need to start by saying that as a regular runner I am a firm believer in the compression technology to help in the training, recuperation and injury prevention. I am definitively not a professional runner but a 50 y-o guy that enjoys running and each year does a couple of Marathons and some half marathons with an average of 25 to 30 miles per week in his legs. I don’t know about medical science but I know what serves for me. Based on all above, I also own a different model of compression boots from a different brand, that have been my best friends over the last year or so in my recuperation process. Compex uses the same principle of air chambers filled with air and by a pattern, the system applies a controlled pressure and air release to different zones of your leg muscles playing over the blood circulation. This pressure and air movement works over the muscles naturally filled with blood after a training serving to speed the recovery and to feel less sored. What I like of Compex that other don’t have: 1.- All is included in your purchase, the package includes two boots and a charger, all in a carry case. The competitors don’t have the case included. 2.- This is a less bulky equipment than others. Let’s face it, this is wireless device, so the air compressors are attached to the boots so you don’t need a hose to connect to an external compressor and the compressor itself. 3.- The boots are open at knee level, versus other models of a full boot covering your entire leg. This is great because now I can have my session while I am sitting at my chair. Other boots are definitively forcing me to stay lying down. 4.- The boots have two separate compressors one per leg so you can define independent recovery routines and times. 5.- The design for the bottom part of the boot is definitively better and more ergonomic. The pressure and recovery of my ankle and calves seems to be faster. 6.- All is built in a high-quality material: boots’ fabric and zippers, that seems to guaranty you a long term use. 7.- A quite decent battery time, you don’t need to be connected to the power supply all the time, the two control units have batteries that could keep (in my tests) up to 3h 15 minutes. What I dislike versus the other models: 1.- I am a 5.11 guy and the boots are exactly fitting me, too close to my size. The other models are designed for bigger sizes guys and the pressure for me covers the full quad. Check this before buying it. 2.- The boots are open at knee level (I said that already) and this excludes that area of my leg from the recovery. 3.- The power of the compression is not as strong and consistent. The time between two routines: inflated and deflated is longer so the net massage is lesser. 4.- This is a completely manual technology. There is no app or connectivity with your phone, all is directly controlled in your two compressors. Let’s face it, the advantage of an app that could serve to guide your recovery, serve as keeper of historical data and control in distance your device would be awesome. 5.- Only two routines are possible. 6.- The manual with 12 pages has only couple of areas really useful, all the rest are electronic information and special precautions plus a table that explicitly say that the product life is 1 year. Hopefully the Warranty is for 2 years otherwise, it’s bit scary. Main conclusion, those are great for my recovery sessions while I am working on my desk.

The boots are very expensive and this is the truth, they didn't work very well for me, the bad thing closed twice and no I think that the air pump lacks more pressure.

Put these bad boys on every night after a long day. Do they work? I believe in the compression therapy delivering some results. Is it enough results for the price point? I would say yes in my case study, but research is still deciding.

Was skeptical about ordering these boots; feared they would not fit properly or have any health benefits- I am pleasantly surprised and have so far been happy with using them. Actual health benefits are still in question as I’ve only been using for two weeks (wanted to get my doctor approval for use) but am hopeful it will be money well spent!

A spontaneous gift for my tired legs after a workout. They feel great after a spin on the bike or leg workout. A bit pricey but a unique gift for the person who likes to exercise and is has everything.

Was looking for a recovery system got this one on sale and it was a great decision. Been running and cycling nonstop and needed some type of recovery system, this helps everynight after a work out. The different pressure selection makes it even better, some days I want a lighter pressure set point than others.

Want to be clear this is only my experience and I’m sure it is nice for majority. I personally did not like how they fit, I don’t have huge legs but they aren’t skinny legs either. This item just did not provide enough tension for me. Also if you’re thinking about walking around with them on, make sure you’re on carpet otherwise you’ll slip easily with these on. Great concept just didn’t work out for me. I returned them

Prior to COVID 19 I worked out 5 to 6 days a week about 1 to 1.5 hours (Cardio and weight lifting on different days) When the lockdowns hit I “rested” for 2 months and now just starting back up again with cardio and resistance band leg workouts. The DOMS ( delay onsite muscle soreness) were real. I’ve been doing 30 mile bike rides on Saturday morning and by Sunday my leg were stiff and sore all over. After using the AYRE Compression Boot twice on Saturday ( after workout and before bed time for 30 mins) I feel less sore and can tell the AYRE compression boot made a difference. I would say I was about 50% less sore. ( I also stretched for 15 to 20 mins) My wife is 4 months pregnant and her legs started to swell due to standing while teaching virtual class. She tired the AYRE Compression Boot for 45 mins before she slept and the next morning we could definitely tell the difference (about 70% of the swelling was gone). After using the AYRE for 3 nights in a row she was back to normal. The AYRE Rapid Recovery compression Boots work for me and my wife in recovery. There are a few things I didn’t like: 1. For me, the size of the compression boot was a little big, but for my wife they were way too big. Maybe next generation they can make it so its adjustable. 2. Instructions was limited. I thought there would be different programs for the compression like a massage chair. Pulsing, rolling, longer holds etc. But its just 1 standard cycle. The 4 chambers fill up air sequentially then release at the same time. There is no variation. 3. Wireless function is nice to have but a very limited use case. Maybe when my kids get older and we are driving back from a game they could use it in the car ? Really don’t need it if your using it around the house. When you’re using the compression boot you’re sitting in one place anyways you can’t move. I would recommend the AYRE wireless compression boots to those who value recovering from soreness quickly or have swelling in their legs like my wife. For $600 dollars its not cheap, but its an investment in your body.
