This review is for the “Deal of the Day” from Best Buy. When a product like this is is put on sale, there should be a chance to see if the product will fit your car. I went to the trouble of going to the store to set up a time for installation, just to be told that it would not fit. I had to return the remote starter and order one that would fit. Which by the way, naturally, cost me another $100. Beware when ordering online!!! Do some research before hand. Don’t depend on Best Buy.

This remote starter works fine up close. But from a distance it is touch and go. It has yet to start my car from a distance of approximately 180 ft. and that is a much shorter distance than advertised of 1000 ft. And when I open the door to the car it shuts down. This defeats the purpose of warming up the car or cooling it down. The back door to my house is probably 40 ft. from my detached garage and I can't start the car from my back door.

I am not super impressed. The range isn't very good. But worst of all is that starting my car with it makes the alarm go off almost every time.

Ok product. Not very responsive and the did jotmopen the trunk. Not sure if that was due to the installation. Would not recommend it.

Have only had a couple issues with this. Had to take back twice to get installed correct

Worth it on cooled winter days or hot summer days the distance for remote is ok

So my husband bought this for me for Christmas 2 years ago. It’s sitting in my desk. While opening presents we lost the confirmation papers they gave to set up a installation and he spent so much money and I still can’t get it installed. Good customer relations best buy

Had this installed at Best Buy and am very happy with the product and the installation. Installed in an hour - prompt and professional. Opted to upgrade to the two way remote for a nominal fee I would recommend this also. Not sure how the factory range was but with the optional remote it works very well and love the feedback that it's running.

Ordered online took to best buy to install it was defective . They didnt have this in stock had to sub another kind.

The Geek Squad installation was TOP NOTCH and the remote start and keyless entry/trunk release work very well.

The system itself works the same as most remote start systems. Unfortunately, the range in my vehicle, Prius, is about 80 ft. By the time, I lock the doors (required step to be able to use the remote start even if they are already locked) then get the car to start, I'm already at the door. I actually have to wait to be able to unlock the door because it won't unlock the doors until the car has been running for a short period of time (less than a minute). If all you need is to lock/unlock the doors, this works great, but it would be cheaper to just get a new fob from the dealer. Once its installed, you can't return it. Unless its installed, you can't confirm the range in your car. The only "fix" that Geek Squad could come up with was buying a two-way remote, +$100, which "might" increase the range, or getting the mobile phone adapter, +$100. The mobile adapter also has a <3 star review and a monthly fee of at least $7 to work.

I barely get 200 feet range from it even in an empty parking lot where I have direct vision of my car. Other than that it does start the car remotely but range is terrible. If I am inside a building, the maximum range I get is maybe 70-80 feet., and that too is very inconsistent. Sometimes I step outside to find my car hasn't started. Disappointed at the inconsistency and range.

Compustar remote start works as you would expect but the problem is if you ever need to replace the remotes over time. Compustar Tech-support is not good with providing feedback in assisting with replacement remotes if they've discontinued the remote you have. Also to mention, I purchased two remote-starts for two different vehicles. All four remotes began to fail at about the same time between 3/4 years of use. Each of them began to break up into pieces. I think it's a good product but beware of the "cheap quality" of the remotes and sub-standard Compustar support!

Can anyone please let me know does it work in 2004 Camry

This product keeps disabling my car. It randomly turns on valet mode and that's not supposed to make it not turn on even with turning the key in the ignition. But nothing will work. Compustar won't help, Geek Squad can't help for a couple weeks... And my car won't start. Awful product, awful service.

Bought this for my 2014 Silverado, I can be sitting in my house with my car 5 feet outside and sometimes it does not start. I can look out the window at it and try to start it at my office and it does not start sometimes. 50 feet is the best range I have had so far after purchasing it and bestbuy does not want to look into it

This thing is terrible. It won't start my car from more than 50ft away. I'm not talking 50ft away, inside a building, surrounded by 12 inch concrete walls...I'm talking 50ft away parked in an empty field and me standing right in front of my vehicle. Complete waste.
