The quick and dirty review: buy this one if you want a subscription based app that can also control your car and 1 remote. Buy the $449 system if you want no app but 2 remotes. The app works fine, you get 1 free month. More detailed review.. So this remote start is $599. You'll see a similar one for $449 on best buy. The difference is this one comes with the Drone mobile module in order to use your smart phone to control your vehicle. NOTE: The app is NOT FREE. The $150 premium is for the module only, and they take back 1 remote to add insult to injury. These can be purchased online for like $50-60 The app has some decent features depending on what tier of service you want to subscribe to. There are 4 tiers of subscription and purchasing the unit comes with 1 month of the plan that's second from the bottom. You can lock/unlock/start/stop all with a widget on phone home screen if you chose. The lowest tier plan gives you full control of the car, a battery voltage readout and temperature readout of the interior of your car. helpful for deciding if you even need to bother with starting it early for the heat or AC to make it comfortable. The cheapest plan is $6/month with scaling discounts for 1, 3 and 5 year. 5 years purchased upfront is $2.99/month. higher tiers give real time GPS related features for the national costs. The app has incredible range. I started the car from my phone while it was at best buy, which was 20minutes away. The installer called asking me to do it in order to test it for him. The #1 draw back (besides the subscription) is this system comes with only 1 physical backup remote. I guess the assumption is you only need 1 if you've got the app but that's only a viable solution if you pay the subscription. That's where my problem lies. The app is neat. But it's not pay a subscription service for access to kind of neat. Not when the identical remote start system that comes with a backup remote is $150 less expensive. I'm giving it 3 stars because there is nothing "wrong" with the system. it works great and Best Buy had it installed and back to me in like 3 hours. but for a $150 premium, you should get 1 year of the app included. not 30 days.

i had best buy install remote start in my moms car years ago ans it went so smoothly. i just got a new (used) car and decided to have it installed as well. i stumbled upon this one while it was on sale and id 100% buy it again. its so easy to schedule an appointment and they install it efficiently and quickly. 10/10 service. its nice having the option to control it all thru an app, without it being required - still having control with the key fob.

Compustar remote start works real good. I can start my car 2 blocks away from my car. I can always track where my car is from the drone mobile app and see if my doors, trunk, and hood are closed or open.

Used in 2021 Audi A5 and 2014 Santa Fe push start I am that annoying customer that knows almost as much as they know; I do my research and ask all the technical, difficult questions that trigger attitude. We almost started off on the wrong foot.... I was asked if all the components were ready, apparently he didn't know I ordered everything online. But....he was very nice enough to let me finish my argument, understood my frustration and was patient enough to de-escalate. He also explained all functionality, was willing to custom program my OEM fob in addition to the included remote. I am very impressed, as this is not something I am used to. Very clean installation(about 2 hrs) - no damage/scratches, punctual appointment, very well informed. As far as the kit itself.... I am convinced this the best bang for the buck currently available on the market(through best buy). If you can wait for the deal of the day or any other deal you can get this $600 package for 50%off(like me). Considering the features range, subscription cost($150 for 5yrs with 15% off), I don't think there's anything with this level of support/history name in this business. I bought this and with the Tech Membership that I pay for each year saves the installation price and the extra cable harness. I took me Genesis G80 in for installation at a select Best Buy. I was a little uneasy about the install since my car has a load of electronics. The install was Pretty easy" as described by my friendly installer. Even took almost 15 minutes going over the remote operation. He even helped me with the mobile phone registration with "Drone Mobile". I had this installed because the 3G network retiring. This unit has a range of up to 3000 feet! What's even better is that their remote is 40% smaller than my Genesis keyless fob and I can press the start button on my Genesis fob slowly three time to start the car. Please note that the mobile app connection is fee based with a 30 free trial. Slightly over $100 for the year of remote access for using your phone app too. I would pay attention with they show you the operation. A lot of visual cues on the included one (1) fob. Highly recommend professional installation and for warranty purposes.

I can’t recommend this enough. This has to be the best remote start for any modern Lexus with factory remote start option. This worked like a charm on my 2013 Lexus GS350. No need to use the provided remote start key fob, it also works with the OEM key fob. The main highlight of this system however is the ability to use your phone or smartwatch as long as you have the dronemobile app to start your car. This uses 4G LTE network, so the response is pretty much immediate. This is a huge upgrade over Lexus enform, which is the factory option from Lexus that is soon to be discontinued and uses inferior and outdated 3G network, resulting in terribly slow response time. The dronemobile app interface is much better and easier to use as well, has great support, and is constantly being updated for improvements. Subscription plans are also very affordable as well and there are often promotions with just about every holidays. I don’t even need to carry my keys, as i have a credit card sized key fob. Just need my phone w/ the dronemobile app, and my wallet holding my keyfob everywhere i go. Step into the future with this!

Great Remote start system. Geek squad had it installed in a little over 2 hours. I do not use the Compustar remote that much. I got this for the ability to start with my cell. Which is fantastic. You do get 1 month free before needing to pay to keep using the Drone service. But thats not a problem for me. Just remember, when using the LTE module to start, you cant use your key fob to unlock your doors. You have to unlock through the Drone app. Highly recommend this remote start over any other.

This was purchased for a 2019 VW Atlas that already has factory remote start. Like many vehicles we've had, the factory option is really pretty bad so decided to go this route instead of something from VW. This is so much nicer and so much more usable. Great range and easy to use. Had to wait a bit to get it installed because there wasn't sufficient support to install in a new model vehicle when we got it, but I appreciated the installer waiting until he felt fully comfortable instead of winging it and potentially butchering my electronics. Once it became available, though, and we got it installed, it has been great. It will be a very nice addition to the winter comfort of the car.

This is review only for initial install andd setup. I will do another review after I have had more time to utilize the system. Install went extremely well. Was quoted 3 to 4 hours to complete the job. Jib was completed in 2 hours and 15 minutes. From the appearance, my car looked exactly as it did when I drop it off. Nothing was scratched or scuffed inside or out. My install was great, knowledgeable, and very professional. He explained all the features to me after he completed the job. System can with one remote but he set up my two OEM factory remotes so I can use them as well. Dronemobile was installed and came with free 30 day trial. Setup for that is pretty straightforward. So in actuality I have four different options to start the vehicle. So far I am very happy withmy purchase and the general system operation. This system was purchased and installed at the Willowbrook location Houston, TX.

I cannot say enough great things about this remote start. It's very easy to use and due to the phone app you don't even need to carry the phone. I started my husband's car while he was at work 2.5 mi away from our house. This thing is the bomb!

Extremely happy with my purchase. I have been thinking about getting a remote starter on my car for months. I have two little ones and we live in Illinois so this is a must. I like the usability of the drone app, it has useful features that was able to detect my that my car battery was in the weaker side. I was able to get a new battery before finding out the hard way once my battery had died. You do have to pay a monthly subscription for the Drone app, which I will probably pay just for the cold months. I previously wasn’t able to lock my car while running with my factory key fob, but with the remote install I can now lock the car (only with the compustar remote). I wasn’t aware this was an option for the first few weeks- I would turn my car off, and remote start it once I got out, that is not necessary anymore.

I’ve had my unit for about a month and its been very easy to use. I can use the key chain fob or my fob to start my truck. The Drone app is easy to use. Not only can i turn my truck on but it also provides other information like battery strenght, inside temperature and tracking to mention a few features. If youre looking for a romote start with the ability to start your vehicle from long range then is the product for you.

Great, reliable product, going on 3 years at this point. Love having the option for LTE, and you can drop and add service as needed. We haven't really needed LTE because the range of the fob is excellent. I'm about to have this same unit installed on another vehicle.

Purchased this product to be used with our work van. 2018 Nissan NV2500 The remote start and app was installed by a Geek squad agent and it took roughly 2.5 hrs. This model comes with the app for drone mobile, a very user friendly app and it works wonderfully. Super happy with the purchase and would recommend.

Love it. The remote is perfect. The only complaint is the app is unreliable for remote starting. The system itself is amazing. Def recommend.

Absolutely perfect! Being disabled this Remote Starter is great. I love that I can use the app on my cellphone to start my car from inside. It really helps me in the cold/hot weather. Being able to start my car and have it warmed or cooled is great. Also being able to lock/unlock is a good feature. The installation process with Best Buy was awesome.

SO Far So good... I had this installed on a 2017 Ford F-150. I am a Geek Squad total Tech customer so installation was included. The app is pretty nice and very user friendly, I just wish more options were available to the end user rather than having to take your vehicle in every time you want to change something like, amount of time your car will run before it shuts off etc. Seems this would be easy to add in your options with the app/account but they chose not too. Im also not happy that for my particular vehicle/year I cannot utilize the "pit stop / Idle Mode" which allows you to be running, hit the button, take your key out, leave to run in somewhere and lock the doors. They claim its due to the firmware on my particular vehicle but kinda sucks, thats one of the nicest features I used on my older 2005 Ford f150 Viper alarm/remote start. So now I have to turn off vehicle, exit and then remote start now, not the end of the world but not as slick as I was told it would be. The response is pretty good, you get a free month on their app, the only glitch I'm experiencing is the status on the door lock always reads UNLOCKED when I'm driving even though the truck by factory locks once I drive. Again, minor annoyance. Over all considering it includes the app its makes it a nice feature. I can't recall how many times ive walked into somewhere and wondered " did I lock my doors? " this helps ease your mind and you can lock it remotely, makes it almost worth the cost to have a full subscription. 2 weeks in and im happy so far. I did add the Alarm add-on but beware if your a total tech geek squad member, they will attempt to charge you another $50 for the alarm add-on so ask before you do it. My bestuy waived the charge due to the misunderstanding. Install was about 4 hours so plan on dropping your vehicle off. Over all compared to whats available, id say this is a pretty nice unit. I got it on a one day sale which was almost half of the full price so I am pleased. Ill update if anything changes.

FANTASTIC remote starter. I am able to keep my key fob in my car and use my iPhone app or Apple Watch app with Siri Shortcuts to lock, unlock, start & open close the trunk. Everything works fine. I haven’t had any issue thus far. Very pleased. It was installed by BestBuy auto install with no issues. Got a 16% discount on the annual plan to have phone and watch app.

Best purchase ever! I got it while it was on a special. Totally worth it, especially during winter. Best Buy crew even installed it. It was quick and easy!
