Added this to my 2021 Mazda 6. The range on the 2-way remote is excellent, every bit of the 3,000’ it’s advertised to do. If you dont like to carry the extra fob all the time, it will work with factory remote at close range. The install was thorough and the tech even set the 2 auxiliary functions. If the outdoor temp is below 36, the rear defogger comes on automatically and if the internal temp of the is 76 degrees or higher, the ventilated (cooling) seats turn on. This is my third time installing this, preciouly haf it on my son’s 2012 Camry and my 2015 Camry. Same luck (without the aux functions) and after 4 years, still working perfectly on my son’s 2012. Added the optional Drone this time and love it as well.

Very Good 4.5 stars. I've had the new remote starter for two months now. The install took some time but was well done and worth the wait (install was done in Danvers, MA). The car starts right away from virtually anywhere, including anywhere in the house, in stores, and even 1/4 mile away while I was riding in another car. The two-way Compustar remote gives you a confirmation that your car has started (your original remote is not necessary for the install or daily use). The only surprising thing is while the door lock command is instantaneous, the unlock has a few seconds delay. It's a little annoying but not worth giving up a whole star. I got a great deal on it from BestBuy, and only wish I had done this a lot sooner. Absolutely recommended. PS - I found the remote's audible confirmations too much. You can silence the sounds coming from the remote by pushing the Trunk & Unlock buttons (on the remote) at the same time for 7-8 seconds, and just rely on the visual confirmations the remote gives you. To turn the sounds on again, push the same buttons again for 7-8 seconds.

I do like the 2-way remote concept. Now I don't have to just wait and see if the car actually started or not, the remote itself will let me know. Distance wise, I do not have any issues, but I am also a fairly short distance from my vehicle 75% of the time. Here are my issues with this remote so far. - If I use the remote for auto-start, then I cannot use the lock/unlock sensors on the exterior of my doors. I have to dig my key out in order to unlock my car. 99% of the time, I have a 22-month-old in my arms, so digging around for keys aren't always easy. - I have yet to get the back latch button to work for me. It will give me the beep indicating that it was complete, but when I check it is still closed. If I grab my factory key fob, then it opens with no problems. - In my past experiences with auto-start features, when the auto start is engaged, you still have to fully start the car before you put it into drive. Failing to do so should cause the auto-start to kick off. So far every time I have used this system, it has fully started my car. I literally just have to get in and put it into drive and go. No turning it from auto-start to start. Which isn't necessarily bad, but that does raise some concerns with me. What if someone breaks into my car after I auto-started it? Will it just let then drive off? Will it kick off since they don't have a key fob? Kinda of scary. -Every morning I auto-start the car while getting my kids' shoes and coats on. When we leave, I have 3 kids to load up in the car. Once I open the back doors to start loading and strapping them in, the auto-start shuts off (usually only been running about 5 minutes at this point) and LOCKS the doors on me, with the keys in the car. The first several times this happened, I had to climb from the back of my car to the front of my car to grab my keys to unlock my doors. I have been trying to get into a habit now of not putting my keys in my front seat while strapping my kids in. I feel like that is something I shouldn't have to worry about, but I do. The first few times it happened, I almost locked my kids in the car with my car keys inside with them. I had realized at the last moment and stopped the door from shutting at the last moment. -They do not have a transponder in them, so I still have to carry my original key fob as well. Not a biggie but still annoying. -Once you auto-start with this key fob, it will not let me unlock the car with my factory issued key fob. Definitely not something I would have been willing to pay the full price for. But we bought it on a Black Friday sale, so for the price we paid, I guess it was worth it. I am hoping it is all just operator error, but at least it works for those cold mornings.

Purchased for my daughter’s 2019 Mazda CX9. This has worked awesome. She is a nurse and works in a hospital with a parking garage that is roughly 2000 ft away. She’s stood at the window of the hospital and hit the remote start and it worked from that long distance. Came out to a warm car when it was 7 degrees outside. The great thing about this 2 way unit it the way it beeps back at you letting you know the car was started. She said this was the best gift she’s had in a long time! Also saved a few hundred over what the dealer wanted to charge and it would t come close to the distance this system does.

Works great. Remote start is great for the winter. Free install. Cheapest way to get two keep fobs. highly recommend. just don't let your battery die or else you might have to have the item reprogrammed

Even for my fairly basic car, a Nissan Versa Note, adding a remote start turns it into a luxury car! It is warm when the weather is cold and vice-versa. 2-way system ensures that the signal was received and that it really is warmed up when you get there. This product adds value to your vehicle no matter what kind it is. Best Buy Service Techs make this product just work as it is intended. Do NOT try installing yourself - it takes professional installation.

This has been a great addition to my car! Being able to start it from long distance is really helpful! The remote start process isn't too long to get it installed and after they're done you're ready for use! I wasn't a big fan of this buzzing sound when it's running off of the remote start or that the light are always on while it's on. I'm not sure what it is or why it does it but works just fine. Prefect for when you need the AC or heater running while you get ready. Includes a valet mode so that you can go leave your car with someone and they won't use it more than what is intended for.

This product came on sale for $269 one day and I decided to give it a try. The installation was done in Tinley Park and it was an excellent installer, very knowledgeable and thorough. The two way remote works from a far range and chirps at you to let you know the car is started, unlocked, locked, trunk open etc. The Compustar system even has a feature that allows you to keep the car running after starting it with your key, I love this. It perfect for a store run in or quick drop off etc. I don’t really use my car key fob anymore because of how well this system works. I really wished the system came with 2 two way remotes tho. It comes with only one and 1 one way remote. The range is rated for 3,000 ft, but I would say 1,000 ft is no problem as that’s the farthest I went. I didn’t know these systems are basically a plug and play system that you can add upgrades to it such as the LTE drone. So now I’m looking for a nice deal on that upgrade. Also, this system doesn’t void your car warranty. If you sell your car you can have them take this out and install it in the new car you purchase later. Also, during purchase, it came with free installation and all the necessary kit to install on my 2017 Honda Accord Sport. It was an easy peasy install and only took about an hour. Again, the installation guy was awesome. He showed me step by step how to work the system. Now I have to get another system to put in my wife’s car. This was a test run for me, but man it was so worth it. This system save me about $200-$300 less that I was going to spend at my local tint shop for a remote start. Glad I went with Compustar, it’s only been a week, but it is very good. Also, installation is being pushed back 5-6 weeks in certain locations, so if you buy this system, make sure to schedule your appointment ASAP.

Bought this for my girlfriend and she LOVES it!! She's cold natured, so being able to get into a warm pickup on a cold day is a blessing for her. I read reviews about others saying they should have gotten the 2 remote version, but they never expounded on WHY. So I got the 2 remote kit to be safe. Here's the deal, one remote is basic bare bones, just push the appropriate button. The other remote is Mr fancy! It will give off certain "beeps" depending on what button you push, door locks, ignition start etc. This let's you know that the thing you want done has actually happened on the vehicle. If it doesn't beep it hasn't happened yet. Cant say just how far it will reach, her pickup is only about 30 feet from the house. So far it hasn't missed a lick......great product!!

I bought this on sale. You can save it to your favorites, set up notifications and wait for the sale price, which usually last for one day to purchase. I got it at a really good price point. You will have to buy the harness seperately. The installation is free, when you go to your cart, make sure to select installation and time and date. Installation can take from 2-3 hours. You will have to look for a best buy store near you, when you order it online of where it can be installed. The product itselt if super easy to use, it comes with two remotes, the silver buttton remote has more range, then the all black. So far it starts up really good and stays on for about 20 minutes. You can have best buy change the amount of time you would like the car to stay idling to a longer or shorter time frame too. If your car model has the luxury features, you can ask best buy to use the trunk opener button to either open the trunk automatically or open your windows automatically. It is not a guarantee that it can be installed, base on the model of your car. It does not hurt to ask. Overall very happy with the product.
