The ConairMan MetalCraft series hair clipper is light, compact, and cuts gobs of hair with ease. It comes with clipper oil, scissors, clipper brush, blade guard, 8 levels of comb attachments, and a little bag to keep them all organized together. The clipper is relatively light and nicely balanced, with a 6 foot cord to give you ample room to maneuver. The taper control arm has 4 locking positions, which means you essentially have 4 other levels of adjustments instead of for example just #1 and #1-½. I especially love how the detents lock the arm in place, because the taper level arm on my old one is so loose I have to hold it in place with my thumb while I’m cutting (very annoying). Sound wise, it’s quieter than my old clippers, but about on par with most new quality clippers. I’ve only used it for one haircut so far, but it cuts very well, without any snags and with sharp results. The scissors it comes with are trash, but the 8 combs are sturdy and very appreciated. My old kit only came with 4, and I’ve already put #6 to use, so this kit has been nothing but a welcome upgrade for me. If you’re looking for nicely weighted hair clippers with locking taper levels and 8 different guide comb attachments, definitely give the ConairMan MetalSeries kit a look.

Packaging: (Box) The first impression of the “ConairMan METALCRAFT” Clipper’s box, is one of masculinity, it is definitely geared towards men. I like the use of greys and dark muted tones as well as the font selection, the language used is direct and informative and it allows the product to sell itself, there is some marketing on one side of the box showing an Instagram model named Kevin Creekman (I had to look up who he is) with his signature, but otherwise it is free from any undue hype. Appearance (Contents): The “ConairMan METALCRAFT” Clippers, two-tone “soft silver/light bronze” color is pleasing and easy on the eyes, although the colors are reminiscent of those commonly used on plastic to make them “look metal”, these clippers are indeed metal and sport a sleek yet powerful look. First off, let me say that the scalloped blades look Awesome, what a nice touch. The honeycomb texture used on the upper face of the clippers is not only attractive, but doubles as a functional grip, that along with the surrounding ridge line, offers very precise control. The taper control handle is a well-designed shape, that lends to the strength of the plastic that it is made out of. Finally, the semi-flush button is well placed, for the overall design and functionality. The comb attachments for the “ConairMan METALCRAFT” Clippers are well marked with the comb numbers (1-8), Fraction sizes (1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1”) and millimeter sizes (3, 6, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25) on the front and back. Form & Function: The “ConairMan METALCRAFT” Clippers, have a nice solid feel & heft and provide a reassuring grip, despite the smooth feel. It is quiet, yet powerful and the sculpted blades run smooth across the skin and make minimal contact as well as providing excellent heat distribution (of which I felt none). The taper control switch has a nice solid feel and clicks into each location with authority. As for the comb attachments, the are well built, the plastic is nether brittle or rubbery, and they have enough flex that they will not break easily. In addition, they have a polished look with a minimal amount of seams, and those that do exist, are clean and smooth. as for their fit, they click into place solidly and line up precisely, the tabs do not feel loose and there is movement when they are attached The oil is in a small bottle rather than a tube, which is a nice look but provides less oil, the cleaning brush is functional, if lackluster, and the scissors are mediocre at best, and the bag is a little cramped and offers no organization options, all & all these accessories are disappointing and feel like an afterthought. Use & Test: Before using the “ConairMan METALCRAFT” Clippers, I let my hair grow out to about 3 inches long, and I also stopped trimming my (Full) beard during that time. My hair is wavey (not curly), medium (not fine or coarse) and thick, my beard is about chest length, full, coarse, very wavy and thick. On my head I was able to start with the #1 guide comb, I made 2 passes with the first having the taper control set to max and the 2nd set to min, then I used it without any guide combs attached, and made 2 passes, as before the first with the taper set to max then a second and final time set to minimum. The results were fantastic, no pulling, clogs or snags whatsoever, no burnt skin, as a matter of fact the blades were surprisingly cool to the touch, it was also quick, with my own speed being the only limiting factor. It left a respectably smooth finish and little work for my hand razor to do. I was VERY pleased with the results As for beard trimming, I simply used it to trim and shape my beard, which I like to keep squared, that is straight across the bottom and straight parallel lines down the sides, these clippers performed equally well on thicker sections and trimming fly always & rouge hairs, and of course at performed admirably in trimming the mustache as well. As for the scissors, they are inexpensive, don’t have a great edge and the finger holes will be too small for men with larger hands. The cleaning brush like the scissors feel thinner than the average one’s do, and it seems like it has less bristles as well, overall I don’t see either being capable of long service or rough use. Conclusion & Rating: When rating on a 5-point scale I start at 2.5 and go up and down from there. I give this 4.5/5 stars because: The packaging and marketing is attractive and well designed, not over hyped, and has an overall appearance of quality & class, making int a great choice as a gift. The Clippers Themselves look, feel, and perform excellent & provide a level of confidence & precision when using them, especially around sensitive areas like the ears & lips. The comb attachments are well thought out and fit perfectly The rest of the accessories, feel like inexpensive filler items Overall, the “ConairMan METALCRAFT” Clippers, are an excellent product that looks feels and performs like a premium product without the premium price, and despite the 1 piece of plastic (the taper control arm) these clippers should make any man (or woman) who does their own grooming very happy. As for the cheap accessories, I personally would pay a few more dollars to have a real case to organize it all, a better grade of scissors, and a better cleaning bush along with more oil, but in the end they are not a deal breaker and realistically are an insignificant part of the whole package Recommendation: I would highly recommend these clippers to anyone interested in self grooming from beginners to old pros. Disclaimer: I was provided a free sample in return for my review, there was, nor will be, any other compensation in any form, there is no agreement nor compensation for a good or bad review, therefor this is my personal, unbiased review, additionally, I have no relationship outside of THIS review with the company or any of its affiliates or employees. I’ve been using personal clippers and doing my own haircuts for several years. While not an expert, I have a lot of experience. Recently my previous clippers (from another brand) reached the end of their span of usefulness and I had the opportunity to try these Conair clippers. They did not disappoint! In the package you will find pretty standard contents - the clippers, length guides, cleaning brush, blade oil, scissors, carrying bag, etc. I’ve attached a picture showing everything contained within the box. I like how the guides are clearly marked with their respective sizes. Very easy to read with black lettering on a silver background. The guides are not flimsy, yet they attach securely and remove easily from the clipper. The clipper itself feels firm in the hand and has an overall solid and durable build quality. Cord length is pretty standard and should provide enough length for most use cases. The power button has a nice click to let you know you’ve switched from manual to always-on. There is five position blade length lever that also clicks and locks securely into the different positions. As I mentioned, the guides snap in securely and do not move during cutting. They glide nicely through the hair and do not poke into the scalp. The actual hair cutting is really smooth. I had one instance of the clippers pulling the hair, but I can’t fault the clippers for this. Every manufacturer and style of clipper is different on how fast you can cut. So this was just a case of figuring out the speed of moving these clippers through the hair. Other than the one isolated pull, these clippers performed flawlessly. The cut is nice and clean, and there was no bogging or slowing even in the thicker parts of the hair. Very smooth and easy. Cleaning the clippers is easy and they do not seem to “hold” hair. When finished with the cut I powered on the clippers, moved the blade adjustment back and forth to clear large hair clumps then powered off the clippers and wiped with a dry towel. Good as new. I am incredibly pleased with everything about these Conair clippers. The look, feel, build, ease of use, and quality of the cut are all fantastic. As my title says, these are my new favorite clippers.

It was time for a new hair clipper. The one we use is about 10 years old. We cut 4 people's hair each month so it has given a lot of haircuts. This trimmer is lightweight and easy to hold. The cord is a standard electrical device cord, not a heavy cord that a lot of clippers come with. There are a variety of attachments to allow you to give a variety of hairstyles. It cut well. It comes with a drawstring bag to store the clipper and attachments in. I would prefer a case so that I could open it up and easily find what I needed. Something that I didn't like was the amount of hair that got stuck in it. It was too embedded to brush it out with the cleaning brush that it came with. I had to unscrew the blades and remove them and use a tweezers and a lot of force to get it out. It was jammed in the mechanisms so hard that it came out looking like a square chunk.

I was given a pair of these to replace my old pair of clippers that I babied for over 10 years and I couldn't be happier. I am very particular when it comes to clippers hence why I haven't replaced mines in so long. The motor is not powerful as my older clippers but with its high torque motor and quality Japanese stainless steel blades it strikes the right balance of being able to cut effortlessly while still being remarkably quiet. The handle is very ergonomically designed and is comfortable to hold in the hand. The cord is about 6 ft long, which should be enough length to move around and get the job done. It has a taper control and comes with 8 guide comb attachments. It comes with other extras like barber scissors and a storage pouch but overall this is an extremely great clipper for the price.

This is a step up from the usual home use clippers. It is almost barbershop quality. I’ve been cutting my hair and beard for years now so I can tell when I found the one. The MetalCraft collection is close to being perfect but not close enough to get me the “shape up” I was expecting with the clipper. The MetalCraft clipper is great for trimming and styling but I cannot get it to cut close to give me a sharp edge. I did used the adjustment taper control lever on the side to move the steel blades close but it doesn’t adjust close enough for me. The blades are sharp and cut effortlessly but would be better if they could get adjusted about an 1/8 of an inch more. I will be looking to see how to make that added adjustment if that’s possible. If that cannot be done I think Conair should add an edger to the MetalCraft Collection. The 8 attachments are good to have and allows me to get just about any look I desire. The on/off button is a nice touch compared to a switch. I like how quiet and high quality the clipper is and I look forward to using it more but for now maybe just for trimming until I can make the adjustment. I do like the 6’ feet cord because it’s a clipper. I think having the cord is good because I don’t have to worry about loss power from charging, I simply plug it in and I’m good to go. The MetalCraft Clipper is a good add on for my home touch ups in between my barbershop visits and I can feel by just holding it that it’s built well and will be durable. I also would of like a case instead of a bag because it would of make the attachments easier to find instead of dumping everything out. Maybe others will not have the adjustment issues that I have or don’t care about a case instead of the included bag.

    Not Too Close for Comfort

When I finally decided to shave my head bald after years of trying, and failing, to hide my male pattern baldness, one of the best pieces of advice I was given was to get a corded clipper. After weeks of struggling with a cordless clipper’s clogging, tugging, and runtime I bought into the AC-powered tool, which made my self-haircuts an absolute breeze. Conair’s new Metal Series High Performance Hair Clipper aims to be the replacement for my aging corded clipper, highlighting its high power DC motor and “Japanese-crafted” blades as its big selling points. After a week I came away impressed with the motor and blades’ performance, but the clipper just leaves too much length behind no matter how close I try and cut it. - Strengths Being a corded clipper, there’s no shortage of power on tap. Though the motor doesn’t feel as powerful as ones I’ve used from other brands (nor does it get as concerningly warm to the touch after extended use), the quality of the blades makes up any deficit I could find. These blades are very sharp and had no trouble cutting straight through my thick, wiry hair anywhere on my head or in my beard. In most cases I needed only one or two passess to cut an area down to the desired length, and it was rare I had to return for another pass for the odd standout. The blades also had no trouble drawing blood from a gentle slip onto my ear - handle the clipper carefully! The adjustable blend control is a nice touch for fine tuning the depth of the blades without changing clipper combs. The range of adjustability seems to be a little under an eighth of an inch with 5 length settings, which should slot between each clipper comb length for more precision hairstyles. However, I personally did not use this and opted to keep the blend control at its closest setting throughout. The 8 included combs run the full gamut of lengths you would expect from a professional clipper. You can certainly give yourself a full haircut with this clipper and that’s exactly what I did. The consistent AC power made this task a breeze, not only cutting through some hair I had let grow out for two weeks with ease, but also never once clogging to the point where I had to stop and clean the clipper. A quick tap against the sink shakes everything loose and at no point did I experience a pull going either with or against the grain. The wide blade surface no doubt helps as well. Cleanup was easy afterwards - the included brush gets between the blades easily to remove whatever hair managed to hang on to the clipper. - Shortfalls My biggest issue with the Metal Series high performance hair clipper is that it simply doesn’t get close enough for my needs. The closest possible setting seems to only trim hair down to about 1/8th of an inch, while many a corded clipper I used before it (and indeed, even Conair’s own cordless clipper-trimmer in the same line of products) get down close enough to the skin to leave only the shortest stubble in its wake. The photo of my head attached to this review shows the result - it just doesn’t get that close. I was hoping this could replace my worn-out corded clipper from a competing brand, but with this I would need to clip my head much more frequently which is giving me pause to replacing the old one with this. If a buzz-cut is what you’re after then this will do great, but if you’re looking for a convenient, quick electric head shave you will need to look elsewhere. The only other concern I really had in the week I’ve been using this clipper is the AC cord. At 6 feet it’s both shorter than other corded clippers I’ve used, and it also seems somewhat thin and fragile. I would have longevity concerns if it’s used frequently, as I expect it will fray at the base of the clipper long before the motor gives out. - Bottom Line Ultimately, the saving grace for the Conair Metal Series High Performance Hair Clipper is that it’s priced to compete. So long as you’re not looking for a particularly close shave, the $49.99 MSRP undercuts similarly performing clippers and stays well below professional grade product pricing while delivering consistent, comfortable hair cutting performance on par with the bigger brands. Corded power is tough to beat, and the quality of the blades stands up to scrutiny. Handle with care and I have no doubt it will last a long time. Recommended!

These Conair(Man) MetalCraft series of men’s grooming products are stand-out products with their metal construction and silver/gold color schemes. The clippers are their flagship product in their MetalCraft series of grooming products. The clipper feels extremely sturdy and hefty in your hands. The body is about 75% metal that feels cool to the touch, followed by gold plastic leading to the blade. Off to the side is the taper lever, which is lockable. My favorite feature of the clipper is that locking taper. My outgoing clipper also has taper adjustment, but boy did it creep inadvertently. I don’t know if other clippers in the market have locking taper (I guess it’s been that long since I last purchased), but I was extremely happy to learn about this. The clipper comes with 8 guide comb attachments, barber scissors, blade guard, storage pouch, lubricating oil and brush. The comb attachments are clearly marked with a decal stating comb number as well as standard and metric size. If the decal ever falls off sometime in the distant future, you’ll find the comb number molded on the backside of the comb. Cool. The kit comes with a small bag for storage. I think it would have been cool to have a hard case like we’ve seen on other clipper sets. That being said, I did appreciate that I can stuff all the goods in the bag without the frustration of playing Tetris with all the attachments in a hard case in order to get it to close. Eh, so maybe the bag is a good idea… Maintenance is the standard removal of hair on the blade by swinging the taper lever back and forth while the clipper is on. This definitely beats bringing out the brush to brush off packed in hair. Oil the blades once a month with the included oil. The manual states a 5-Year Limited warranty. Like its little brother, the Trimmer, the manual includes hair cutting tips for a Fade or Taper. Worth a read. I’ve already given it a go; zero all the way around, twice a week, and it has been a breeze to use. My family members are not as often, but the clipper will be waiting. I’m no professional when it comes to cutting hair, but with things the way they are nowadays, cutting hair at home keeps the family safe and saves money.

With the Covid pandemic I needed to cut my families hair at home. This clipper set worked great and my haircuts all came out amazing, like I got from my hair dresser! It paid for itself with the first use and I plan to use it from now on just to save money and convenience. My only wish is that it was cordless, but the fact that it has a 6 ft cord helped the matter. One cool feature is that you can press the button momentarily to turn it on and off without running it continuously. But if you press it all the way down it locks on for extended use. All the attachments, scissors, oil, brush and carry bag are perfect. Great buy for the family!

I have used this for 2 hair cuts so far and it did a great job. It is easy to use right out of the box, light weight (which I appreciate compared to my older heavy duty clippers), and the accessories are good quality. I especially like the scissors that it comes with. They are rounded at the tip (just slightly) and it keeps me from accidentally nicking myself. The storage bag is an excellent addition to the set, makes it easy to keep all the pieces together. It is a good value. The cord strap is fixed on the cord so you can't lose it. It does slide to any spot on the cord if you need to adjust the location. I did notice that after 2 cuts, the finish on the top area looks worn already where the fingers rest. That is not a deal breaker, but it is worth noting that it's not going to stay new looking for very long. That is the one thing I would improve, the paint finish on the upper area.

The clipper comes in a very nice packaging. This is basically all you would need for grooming. Looks pretty elegant in the Silver Metallic color. The package includes 8 Guide Comb/Trim level attachments and cleaning system (Brush+Lube) and a Barber's comb. The Cord length is pretty decent and would never bother you while maneuvering. It also has a travel pouch included for the ease to carry. The clipper feels pretty light and is easy to use. The blades perform great. Overall it's a great product for personal/professional use. I will be using it alot especially during this pandemic situation. I love it!

ConairMAN MetalCraft clipper is definitely well made like professional series for home use. It has a sleek design with metal handle and adjustable stainless-steel sharp blades with edged at the end for precise cuts. It comes with 8 guide comb attachments, scissor, storage bag/pouch with string, lubricating oil and small brush to clean the blades, blade guard for travel or storage. Motor is quiet and is powerful with high torque that gets the job done with no issues. This clipper is corded and the cord is approx. 6 foot and has a strap to keep it tidy in the bag. I do have other clipper but this one outperforms that with the design, functionality and the locking taper control feature. Included scissor is not great but okay. Thumb taper lever adjustment enables easy haircut length easy and adds the professional touch. Overall, this is a must accessory for every men for a quick trimming between barber visits.

Bought this for my husband whom uses it to cut out sons' and grandsons' hair. Works excellent. He prefers the chorded electric shavers over the non chorded as he says they last longer and are better performing n more powerful. Self taught; you would never guess. He fades, tapers n does little designs and this seems to work great, gets the job done n does exactly what he needs it for. I actually ended up purchasing a second one for the Vegas hot spring n summer days; I shave down our long haired cats to help keep them cool n from over heating. Although not so quiet; 2 of our 3 long haired pets handle it well, one not so much, she just ain't havin' it lol. No complaints here.

Well first of all this was sent me my house as a product sample to try out and let me start by saying overly joyed this is an amazing set of at home do it urself clippers. My likes are the design looks sleek and expensive along with the shape which contours perfect in my hand. Another like was how quite it was and also liked how powerful the motor is in this clipper that’s why I gave it a 4 star which would of been 5 but I did have one small dislikes first is it did get hot after about 25 mins not necessarily the blade but the shell of clippers where u hold it at was hot other then that it cut my hair very close and clean almost as good as going to barber also included a before and after using the clippers on my sides

My current clippers (Wahl) were on their last leg. So this was a needed item. I was pleasantly surprised at how light these are in my hands, you don’t want to be using a heavy weight trimmer when trying to cut your own neck, on the back side. They're very sleek and satisfying to look at. Instead of a switch, it uses a button which is easy to turn on and adds to the simplicity of the design. The height adjustment is not your usual "slider type" but has presets and do not move while you are cutting. The cord is ample length, especially for someone tall, and it comes with a plastic tie attached to the cable which makes for easy storage. It comes with attachments from size 1 to 8, which snap in easily and securely and feel sturdy, as well as a guard attachment, a small comb, a hair scissor, and a small tube of oil. The blades don’t heat up to an unbearable temperature when using for extended periods either.. If you’re looking for a new hair trimmer, I would recommend!

I have been using hair/beard clippers for over 30 years. I first started using Wahl clippers to cut my own hair in high school and then continued to use them on my hair and beard as I got older. I have only ever used Wahl products and had my first opportunity to use a Conair product as part of a free sample program I registered for. When I first opened the Conairman Metalcraft High-Performance Metal Clipper package, I was impressed with how well manufactured they appeared to be and the quality of materials. These clippers felt like they were better crafted then any of my pervious Wahl product purchases. The only thing that I did not like about the clippers was the power button. The button felt like it was cheaper quality then the rest of the clippers, however, that would not dissuade me from using or purchasing them. The rest of the accessories that came with the clippers are standard to what every other clipper manufacturer supplies. How did the clipper perform? Since I knew I would be reviewing them, I had about 3 weeks to let my hair and beard grow. My hair was not too bad, but my beard was a mess. The guides for the clippers snapped onto the head easily and they seemed to be secure enough that I did not need to worry about them slipping off during use. When I started cutting my hair and beard with this product, I was impressed with how good they worked. I only needed to do one pass with them, and it only took me about 10 minutes to remove all my hair. Typically, with a brand-new Wahl clipper this would take me about 20 minutes to remove all my head and beard hair, with multiple passes. The Conair clippers did not pull my hair at all and did an excellent job cutting. A complaint I have is that because the clippers are too new, I could not do any precision sculpting to my beard, neckline, and the back of my head. With no guides on the clippers and the adjuster set as low as it could go, the blades were too sharp and slightly cut my neck and back of my head. I tried to move the adjuster setting out to stop this from happening but then it became too hard to get a straight line. I think the issue has to do with the blades being too sharp right now and they will have to dull down somewhat before I can use them for sculpting. I am extremely satisfied with these Conair clippers and will be using them from now on when cutting my hair and beard. These clippers are quality craftmanship and I feel like I will be using them for years to come. I recommend these clippers to anyone looking to purchase a new product.

I would recommend this to a friend
