I received this product as part of a free sample program I currently use one of those "scaped" products which is nice but I think this ConairMAN Metal Series High Performance Ear/Nose Trimmer has it beat. This is based on the wide, 360 degree, tri-level cut head. The head cuts from all angles, not just cutting at the tip, where with my current trimmer, you have turn it upside down and rotate it and twist it to try to trim the same areas. It seems to be more powerful than my current trimmer with a fresh battery. Whether it’s ear or nose hairs, It really gets the job done. it is an easy to handle size made with metal, not plastic. It has a twist on / off cap at the bottom that is also the battery cover. It takes one AA battery to run it, that's not included. It would be nice if it was rechargeable. The trimmer also has a head cap as well which keeps the head clean between uses. I did not have any pulling or skin nicks. It did a great job by comparison to the WAY more expensive one I already have. It is also very easy to clean. It would be nice if it had replaceable heads, but it doesn't. However, It does come with a two year parts and labor warranty. I recommend this trimmer.

This is not my first Nose / Ear Trimmer. Compared to other units this one is noisier, especially in the ears. It comes packaged very well and looks nice. The first look at the cutting end can look a bit scary with the metal serrated appearance. However it does a great job trimming and there is NO pulling, cutting, or pain. It does work very well and is easy to use. Its construction is simple and looks like it should last. This is not something you will use every day like a razor so it doesn’t have to be built as tough. Recommendation, the instructions could be better for finding, and using the on/off switch. Once that is figured out, it’s a piece of cake to use. I personally like the fact it uses one single AA battery. I can pack it and be sure it will work when it’s not used for a week or two. Most rechargeable devices lose charge just sitting around and you have to take the charger when you travel which is just another thing to pack. You can always find an AA battery while on the road, just my thoughts. So Yes, I would recommend this unit to a friend. Because of its convenient size, and cover for the head, it’s a perfect travel companion on the road and at home.

These are my first nose/ear trimmers. I have been using scissors for both and it’s hard to get the right angle, especially for the ears. With this Conair nose/ear hair trimmer, it’s a breeze. You can easily get it in the right position. Operation is simple. Load a AA battery, pop the cap off and go to town. I really like the AA battery vs having to recharge. Cleaning is simple too, just pop the top off, rinse, dry and pop back on. I have not felt any pulling or pain while using the trimmer and no nicks. The trimmer isn’t silent and it’s a bit loud when trimming near your ear canal, but maybe that’s normal for these products. For the price, this is a great product that is easy to use and does exactly what I need it to do. I wish I had bought one years ago.

Conair’s new line of ConairMAN products introduces a range of barbershop-grade cutting, trimming, and grooming accessories marketed to men at reasonable prices. They’re advertised as using higher quality blades and craftsmanship than their more budget-oriented lines, and though these may sound like marketing gimmick on the surface, there’s some substance to be had in the product. This is evident with the High Performance Nose/Ear Trimmer, as it performs notably better than nose and ear trimmers I’ve used from competing brands. Despite being powered by a single AA battery like similar nose and ear trimmers, and having a motor with about the same power output as others, I was surprised to find trimming with Conair’s offering was much more comfortable. The unusually shaped head has a much larger outer diameter than other barrel-style trimmers, making maneuvering in tight spaces a little tricky at times, but the difference in blade velocity at the edge of the cylinder makes an enormous difference in comfort. Nose trimming is the big winner - other trimmers powered by the same setup would usually pull or tug as I came across stubborn nose hairs, but with the Conair nearly all the cuts came through swiftly with little more than a tickle. Very impressive stuff, especially when it’s still being powered by the ubiquitous AA battery. The device is small and compact yet weighty enough to feel premium. The added weight does help keep your movements slower and more precise, though the finish is a little smooth. I could see it easily slipping out of the hand with anything but a very firm grip. Including a cap was a great choice for traveling, and the power button being a twist option at the base of the trimmer seems much less likely to accidentally trigger when it’s being bumped and shuffled around in luggage. Overall though, this is the nose and ear trimmer to get. It’s a few dollars more than other options but the comfort and performance offered up by the cutting head’s design and quality makes this a worthwhile upgrade. Recommended!

Build feels very cheap with a plastic base and you have to turn it on by rotating the bottom clockwise. Problem is the bottom is also thr battery cover so if you forget and rotate the opposite direction, you pop out the battery, very easy to forget. After a few uses the rotor stopped working and the whole thing is dead. Bought it to replace my panasonic one I lost, would not recommend this one.

This does the job. No pulling or pain. The only thing is trying to figure out how to first open and close it.

Not as impressed with the ability for this design to actually cut the hairs within the nose and ear areas. Would recommend a different product or design to meet your needs.

PROS: - Solid build. heavy and strong - No cuts, grabbing or pulling - Comfortable in your hand - Washable tip - Uses standard batteries (AA) no charging needed CONS: - Doesn't seem to get all hairs without a lot of passes - Very loud, especially near the ears - Learning curve to get a good, close cut - Not fully waterproof Ok, let's cut the crap, we all got annoying hairs and we want to get rid of them. It might not be pretty but it needs to be done and you want to do it fast and efficiently. Having the right tool for the job is the key to that efficiency, and unfortunately, I'm still not sure if this is the tool for me. First off, the build is really good. It feels sturdy, heavy and strong. Like I could drop it a few times and it won't show a scratch. That's good, and I do value that, but in the end I need these clippers to actually cut the hairs. I feel like there may be a learning curve here, so perhaps in time I'll be able to get a better and faster cut, but after a week of testing, I haven't been fully convinced this trimmer is "fast". But if you are ok with doing a few extra passes to get all the hairs, you won't be disappointed with the results you'll eventually get. The good news is there really is no pulling or cuts or tugs, I've had a few nose/ear trimmers and this definitely is the most gentle cut I've had. But others seemed more efficient and quicker right out of the package. My biggest issue with the trimmers is the need to cover an area a few times in different directions. This is what I mean by learning curve; in the past I would just use my trimmers and make some swipes over the hairs and they're gone, pretty easy. With these clippers (I think due to the "360 patented design") I can't seem to get hairs cut as easily as before. I found that slowly spinning the trimmer with the direction of the blades helped "catch" hairs and cut them so perhaps with practice this will work better, but for now it's been a little annoying to take so long for something I'd rather not be spending time doing. This may also be due to the rather loud motor. I don't generally care about the noise of a grooming device, but when it's designed to go in and around your ear, it's important to consider. This puppy is pretty powerful, and with power comes noise. Because it has been taking longer to trim all the hairs evenly, I am also leaving the trimmer close to my ear longer which is causing my ears to ring slightly when I'm finished. I'm sure it's not a damaging level of sound, but it is loud enough to be uncomfortable and make you wish the whole job was going faster. Again, other trimmers I've had in the past were not all this loud (some where louder!). If you have sensitive ears, look for a brand that offers a quiet motor. OVERALL: overall I think these are good pair of trimmers and for the price, I would still recommend them to others, but I would warn them that they are a bit loud and do take some getting used to to really get the job done the way you want and in a quick manner.

After having gone through my share of trimmers, all of which had some various failings, I think I finally found the tool that does the job right. This is really effortless to use, with no clogging or pulling. It has a different design than others I have used, with a sort of “flare” on the tip that makes it much easier to get those pesky hairs near the bridge of the nose that always seem to be left too long with other trimmers. It is also super light and compact, which makes it great for travel, as well. I couldn’t be happier with it.

Nose and ear hair trimmers are not exactly exciting things. Sure they’re useful. And unlike using scissors, they won’t cut you (much). We’ve actually had nose trimmers which did nick the inside of my nose. And most of the nose trimmers we’ve bought died all too quickly. So, when I say the Conair, Metal High Performance Nose and Ear Trimmers are exciting, that’s saying something. I honestly can’t count how many nose trimmers we’ve owned over the years. Suffice to say, they all died fairly quickly. We’ve had plug in trimmers, rechargeable trimmers and battery trimmers. The Conair trimmers use one AA battery. The battery will need to be replaced, but the trimmers should last a long time. This puppy is so simple to use. Just take the protective cover off, rotate the base to on. Its powerful, quiet, comfortable, well-built and simply works better than any nose and ear hair trimmer we’ve had. The Conair trimmers are part of their new Premium Metal collection of trimmers. They just feel great in your hand but aren’t heavy at all. The trimmers have a very unique 3 bevel blade system, which uses patent pending technology. Whatever they did however was create the smoothest, most effective nose and ear hair trimmer I have EVER used. Like EVER.

360 degrees of painless nose/ear hair trimming. I can officially tell where my mustache ends and my nose hair begins! This tool may “only” do one thing, but it does it very well. The design is different than any other trimmer I’ve used, and works flawlessly. Cuts the hair without risk of cutting you and doesn’t pull the hair. Simple operation and easy cleaning. It takes one AA battery and seems to last quite a while per battery. The metal body of the tool feels durable and reliable unlike similar plastic tools would. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to quickly, easily and painlessly trim their nose/ear hair. I received this item as a free promotion.

The one thing that my husband has always complained about when I’ve tried to buy him electric nose hair trimmers was that they would pull hairs painfully when he’d try to use them. He told me that this Conair Metal Series “High Performance” ear and nose hair electric trimmer is the very first one that he’s ever tried that actually does NOT pull at his nose hairs and that it works great. He also did try it on ear hairs as well and he reported back that it also worked perfectly with no pulling there as well. It’s very handy and convenient, not too big or small, just the right size, easy to grip and easy to clean (just run it under water). You will need a AA battery as it does not come with one.

Was a fussy for my boyfriend. He literally used it once, and it stopped working!

Wouldn’t recommend. Not good quality at all. Save your money.
