Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Infiniti Pro Hot Comb's quick heat-up time and ergonomic design, making it comfortable to use. However, many find the comb less effective for straightening hair, particularly finer hair types, and some have concerns about the tooth spacing. The temperature control is also praised for its ease of use and adjustability. Overall, opinions are mixed regarding its straightening capabilities.

My wife and daughter both have thick and wavy hair. They were excited about the Conair straightening comb in hopes it would cut down on the time they need to get ready in the mornings. Although it works, it definitely will not be replacing their higher priced flat irons. According to them, unless the temperature dial is all the way up and Turbo Heat setting is on, it simply doesn't get hot enough to effectively straighten their hair. On the plus side, it does seem to glide relatively easy through the hair without pulling and does a decent job at touch ups or when "stick straight" isn't the look they are going for. Both of them liked the fact that the cord has the ability to spin where it enters the unit so cord tangling should be reduced. The unit is quite lightweight and has a sleek look. Another plus is the molded lip at the front of the handle which props the hot end up off your counter or dressing table.

Very easy to use for basic styling, but not for extensive straightening. I have very thick and coarse hair and I found the teeth of the comb to be way too close together for the best straightening. I also have a few pros and cons for this straightening comb: PROS Easy to use Might work well for much finer or even mixed hair types CONS - Doesn't get hot enough -- not even the turbo feature - Not good for extremely thick or 4C hair - Doesn't provide the same slick, smooth straightening that the other straight irons do - Feels cheap I really don't think I am going to be using this as much as my other flat irons that get well above 425 degrees. I can't even tell the temp on this one but I am positive it is not as hot as my others.

Did not like this. Go to a hair store and buy your pressing comb. This was not worth it at all. I just wasted money.

My wife does hair for a living and has decided this comb is just not a replacement for an actual straightener. It does an OK job but it doesn't really get close to using a flat iron. Especially on the hair types advertised for this comb. The comb does heat up fairly quickly. It's ready to use and has some decent controls for hot hot you need it. It also does straighten hair but I much prefer the look after using a flat iron than this comb. It just doesn't do as good of a job. That said, it isn't incredibly expensive and it's pretty easy to use so maybe those tradeoffs are worth it to you. I'd consider the short falls along with the benefits of simplicity, cost and quick heating and see if it's the lesser result is worth it.

Perfect start to your hair routine...

The Conair - Infinitiy Pro Gold Hot Comb - Gold Plated - Gold offers the perfect addition to your morning or special evening hair routine. The Hot Comb provides the usefulness of a curling iron, but the flexibility of a comb and hair dryer. Specifically for those with course, thick, and wavy hair (hair types 2-4). We found this hot comb to speed up the hair routine for my wife. She has naturally wavy hair and struggles with bed-head, and out of the shower hair. This comb tackled her waves and provided smooth, slick, and manageable hair in both situations. She states it helped increase volume and remained straight all day. Definitely not recommended for anyone with fine or straight hair. Those who may have a special ethnic hair types, which require additional effort and care, will find this a great addition to your daily routine! PROS - Conair brand and quality - Great design and look - Heats up quickly (approx 30 sec) - Does not fry hair if used correctly - Great for a variety of hair types - Solid build and construction CONS - Not effective for finer hair types

In the box is the straightening comb and an instruction/informational brochure. Out of the box, I set the straightening comb to the setting desired and plugged in, turned on. There is a blinking red light and a green on light. The red light is supposed to turn solid when the comb is at the desired heat setting. Inside of the instruction/informational brochure, it does tell you what setting to use for what type of hair. My hair is thick, 3c and frizzy and the comb did great! It took a couple of tries to get used to converting from a flat iron to a comb but after a few sections, everything went smoothly. Then after a few sections, I was able to comb bigger sections which made my straightening experience even faster and I was done in less than 30 minutes. It normally takes me up to 2 hours to flat iron my hair! I also noticed that my hair didn’t smell burnt once I was done as well! Overall, I am in love with product and I highly recommend it to friends and family!

For someone who has lived with hair straightening irons since college (I’m on my mid-30s) to manage my thick curly hair, I have bought a lot of different brands and styles. I own the Dyson hair iron and so far that’s the best I’ve had and works wonders on my hair. I got the Conair Hot comb because I’ve never used a hot comb before and wanted to try it on my hair to see if it works. Although for the price, I wasn’t expecting much. I turned it on and after a few minutes, I noticed it hasn’t heat up much even at the highest setting so I waited about half an hour more. Then I tried it on a small portion of my hair and the first stroke is not that good, I had difficulty combing my hair because the teeth of the comb is so close together that I can hardly comb through. Maybe there’s a bit of a learning curve and I just need to get used to combs since I am used to irons, but I can say this thing needs lots of patience. For my thick curly hair it will take forever to straighten it using this hot comb. I did also tried it on my niece’s hair, she has very fine hair and a little wavy and this works fine to straighten it. Overall, I’m not too impressed with this product for my hair. However, for fine hair with a little bit of waves, this will work just okay.

Got this for my GF who has curly hair in the 3a range. She's not overly impressed with it. The comb doesn't seem to get as hot as it should for straitening hair efficiently. After brushing her hair out, then using the hot comb it seemed snag and pull her hair some. It wasn't always a smooth pull through. The comb does mostly work, and did produce some good results. It's not quite flat iron strait, but sort of poofy-blowout strait. It also took a lot longer than flat ironing, nearly double her usual time. That may improve with familiarity. It worked better the second day to refresh her hair without going through the routine flat ironing and was quicker this time.

It looks like it might work better to curl hair rather than straighten it. It heats up quickly at least. Too bad you can't use it on damp hair, might have worked better. My daughter has long type 3 hair and tried this Conair hot comb to straighten her waves. She didn't like the fact that she had to brush her hair for 20 minutes before she used it or it would tangle easily. Upon application at the highest setting, it barely smoothed out the waves after several passes. A half hour later it was like she never did anything. The turbo feature requires less passes for the same results. This in no way acts as a replacement for hair straightening plates that both work better and don't require a comb out ahead of time.

It should have been a bit heavier. My wife set the heat for the type of hair she has and it did practically nothing. Just didn't do it's job. It said it was for type 4 hair but it's more for type 3.

    An Awesome Hair Care Tool!!!

This straightener is simple to use as it is a true plug and play needed hair accessory. I have thick hair that is frequently worn up in a bun, which sometimes does not dry well, which leaves the upper roots unmanageable at times. This straightener has been the answer to that problem as the next day after a wash when it is thoroughly dry, I use it to straighten my roots. Also, I use this comb as I am in between perming when I opt for a straightened look with my hair down. The temperature on this comb is wonderful as it does get warm, at 345 degrees F; however, it is not enough warmth that it will cause burning or over processing. Conair states that the comb is perfect for various hair types such as, thick, course, curly, wavy, and frizzy which articulates to me that the comb is solidly built to accommodate. The comb is gold platted, which thus far, has not caused any noticeable drying or pulling of my hair. Thus far, this comb has been a direct answer to my daily hair care needs. Suffice to say, this is a welcomed staple to my daily hair care regimen

I have type 4a hair and this did a pretty decent job of straightening my hair. I honestly used this and then my straightener to get it straight. This hot comb is good for a beginning straightening job, but not the finished result. That is why I gave it 3 stars. It did what a blow dryer would do to my hair, but maybe slightly straighter (not by much). Its decent, but not great. I would recommend it to someone, but not with the same texture hair as mine.

As far as straightening combs go it is pretty good. My daughter is the one with really curly hair and sing it on her hair it removed most of the curl, twists and wave. The comb heats up pretty quick and seems to stay hot pretty easily while using it. We couldn’t get it to stop the frizz and fly-aways the way we can with a flat iron that pinches the hair, but I don’t think that’s a fault of the product so much as just a difference in the types of hair tools you can use to straighten hair. I can definitely see times where this will be the best tool for the job, and this is a great brand/product as far as heated combs go. While our personal preference will probably still be a flat iron for straightening our daughter’s hair, it doesn’t lose any stars for doing what it should and just being a different product.

My daughter is no stranger to hot combs. In the past she used her mom's old hot comb which had to be heated on a stove. So when she heard I ordered her the Conair Infiniti Gold Hot Comb She was excited to use it. When the package arrived she ran to the door and began her testing immediately. Some of the things she liked are:  - The looks of the Comb. It has a shiny metal gold colored comb and a black plastic handle. - It plugs into the wall, so she no longer has to heat it on the stove. - The adjustable heat which is controlled by a thumb slider. As for performance, when she was done doing her hair, it looked great and she did not burn herself. I would have posted a picture but she wont let me.=-(

My wife used this one as soon as the product arrived. She has curly hair, she already using one straightening comb right now I do not want to name the product but she didn’t like it. She liked this she says it heats up quickly and with just few pull downs on the hair , she can see the difference. It is not burning and heat can be adjusted. It works well. I am sure you will like it and a decent add to your comb collection set.

I am an African American woman, with type 4c hair. This was not a product that really worked for me, and my hair. There are some good features. There is what appears to be stand on each side of the hot comb, which means you don’t have to worry about setting it on the counter and it burning with other models. The plates have a silky feel as advertised, and isn’t as rough feeling like some I’ve had in the past. But, this isn’t a product that I would recommend for people with similar hair types. It does heat up well, but I never felt like it got hot enough even on “turbo” to really help give me what I needed. Thankfully my hair was blown out a little so that really helped when I used this. If my hair wasn’t blown out, I would have had to flat iron it first, and then use this hot comb to finish it off. I wanted an alternative to the flat iron that did more of the work, instead of using that much heat over and over. There was absolutely no way this comb was going to be effective for my 4c hair if I hadn’t already used a blow dryer or flat iron. This would be great for straighter hair types.

The Conair Infinitiy Pro Gold hot Comb heated up quickly. Using the comb on Type 3 hair did not have the desired effect. The turbo feature heated up even hotter, but still did not straighten the hair. I would not recommend this to a friend.
