Fun game very different from the original games from the super NES and the NES systems nostalgic music plays within the game very exciting to hear worth the 20 bucks paid

This is not your typical contra game but it’s a very fun silly shooter. The characters are wacked and the story is too. Stay away.

I went into this purchase with no expectations, which is why I gave it 3 stars as opposed to none. In fact I waited for it to go on sale because I knew it probably wouldn’t be all that great. What I ended playing was a version of the Dreamcast game Cannon Spike (just not as good looking). The gameplay is similar to driving a 60’s model Buik, just not as smooth. I think the only thing that kept me playing was the outrageous premise and characters. This game really shows that Konami as a publisher is not as interested in console gaming as it once was. It’s been years since any new Contra game was released, and this game shows why. Was it complete crap? No. Would I recommend to new Switch owners? No. Instead buy the Contra collection available on the E shop, you’ll enjoy it more. Here’s hoping that Konami can get their stuff together for future releases.

New to the switch so it took me a minute to get comfortable with the controls but the overall game play is fun

Don't always listen to negative reviews. This game isn't that bad. It's not a traditional Contra style, but it a good game to kill time. I never fully trust reviews and neither should you. A $20 price point is just right for this game.

The game is not very good looking, but it's satisfying to play and unlock better weapons, even more so with friends.

An okay game. Kind of confusing. Switching but from character to another is bit annoying but generally is a good simple game to play without too much of thinking.

It's nice to see the Contra name back, but this is not going to please everybody. The game is a top down shooter with a lot of mechanics. It is not run and gun, there is a lot of customization and there are different characters who have very different styles. The game has a retro look that resembles PS2 or maybe even PS1 games, but it is fun enough.

Kids enjoyed it. They’ve played it and keeps them interested

It like a normal contra game. Other then its a twin stick shooter it's an ok game if you change the title to happy panda nobody would know it's a contra game.

I grew up playing Contra, but I'm no pro at it. In fact, I've never beat a Contra game --not even with the Konami code. This game goes in a very different direction than those side scrolling chaotic shooters of the past three decades. But the chaos and over-the-top action is all still here. If you hold this to the previous games and expect more of the same, than you may not enjoy this. This is a very different type of game. For one, it's a twin stick shooter with lots of RPG elements. It's still in the same universe of the Contra series, despite it feeling much more wacky. This is a pretty fun game though. If you are unfamiliar with the Contra series, you have nothing to lose trying this one out, but know that it's very different than the other games in the series. If you are a hardcore fan and skeptical about this game, I gotta say, you are right to be. It's not the Contra game you are probably looking for, but it is an interesting game.

Contra Rouge Corps for the Nintendo Switch plays like old school smash tv.

No the one we played in the 90s but still has some nostalgia to it

Fear not, long-time fans of the series have nothing to worry about.

Not your side scrolling Contra, but still fun for what it is. It’s like a mix of Diablo and Contra. Looting and leveling up. Too many people bashing it because it’s not a traditional contra game. Resolution kinda sucks and it should be 60fps but it isn’t. Still having fun with it though.

I had a really fun time playing this. I highly recommend!
