very quiet and cools pretty good. A lot better than any stock coolers and the matte black looks really nice. The installation was confusing and took a couple looks at the manual to get it right

Looks great in my case and provides great temps for the price. I have an 8th Gen I7 running at 5Ghz and temps while gaming can creep up to the mid 70 degrees Celcius range. Keep in mind this is an overclocked processor with an RTX 3080 in the same case at full load with an air cooler that costs under $40. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable air cooler that looks good and performs well.

To start, I’d been using my pc with a ryzen 5 1600 in it with the stock cooler no issues, but as soon as I touched overclocking the thermals shot up even at undervolting. I switched out to this cooler and running a modest undervolt/overclock I don’t see more than 75c on ryzen master.(Using only one fan!)
The only reason this didn't get a 5 star from me was just because it was a little hard to get the cooler to thread on their bracket through the motherboard, and putting the can brackets on was a bit sketchy slotting in for me.(Both things very well could’ve been error on my part aswell seeing as its my first tower cooler)

I bought this because I needed a new cooler. It came highly recommended and I would definitely buy again if I were building an air-cooled system. VERY quiet. I also upgraded the fans.

Cooler Master's Hyper 212 has been a staple among budget buyers for nearly a decade. They have reinvented their product with this black edition. I have used the Hyper 212 line for years, and found it to be unbeatable for it's performance and price. Sure, there are better quality air cooler products, but they do not range in this price. It does the job that it has always fulfilled, which is solid cooling as a budget friendly option. You can do some decent overclocking with the cooler, though if you are an extreme overclocker, I would seek other offerings. All in all, the classic shines once more in the budget range.

Easy to assemble but a BEAR to install on the CPU, at least on my AMD processor. You will need a long-shank Phillips screw driver not mentioned in the instructions. I also had trouble with the backing retainer that installs on the underside of the motherboard. In my situation, there wasn't case metal clearance for it, and I actually had to unfasten the 9 mounting screws and remove two slide clips. But after everything (took the better part of a day), I'm very happy with the cooler. Does an excellent job and very quiet.

I have this paired with an MSI PRO B650-P WIFI and a Ryzen 7 9700X running Linux Mint 22.2 "Zara". Works fine for my purposes. With that said, wouldn't mind doubling up the heatsink and fans for even more cooling and quiet operation.

Rating the product at five stars for saving me in a pinch. It’s 100% absolutely not the best cooler on the market. However it works well and would be great for a budget build.

Easy to install, decent cooler. Hard to get the hinges on sometimes which is why I deducted .5 stars.
Another .5 deduction since water coolers will always be superior.
